2019 Year-End, Rear-End Review

Hola kitties! I thought I'd do a year-end rear-end recap of last year. I don't usually do these cos they're a bunch of work and TW isn't that into work of any kind. The last one we ran was in 2012 and the format was entirely different. We found this great template while searching for New Year's templates so we decided to run with it. There's one for each month.

2019 Year-End, Rear-End Review

And so it goes! What a year of ups and downs. What a wonderful year.

2019 Year-End, Rear-End Review

I'd started a series using the questions from FB memes called "Amazing Facts." I was hoping others would follow suit but not enough cats did so I put it to pasture. Could be cos I balked at putting a linky. They're nothing but trouble especially as time goes on. I may revisit it someday. I posted some amazing facts in January. I also joined the "Pet Blogger Challenge" for the first and no doubt only time. January is also my Gotcha Day.

2019 Year-End, Rear-End Review

In February I was still an ambassaCAT for Chewy. I created some, well, creative images for these reviews. This one was for Tiny Tiger. Moo the cow also paid me a visit.

March came and I had questions that every cat should pose to their humans. I hope you made your human answer them and then reneged on giving them treats afterwards.

Humans apparently don't know that cats can get separation anxiety and what they can do to alleviate it a bit. Our next door neighbor left her cat alone for an entire month and Livesy spent that month pawing and crying at their front door. Deja vu! We thought it was happening all over again but they were only away for a week and not a month. I hope others followed the advice from my April post about the subject.

All year I continued writing about the funny things that happened in the condo. This May post was a good one.

2019 Year-End, Rear-End Review

Cat World Domination Day was in June but one of my fave posts was inspired by a phrase I hear every night—Bunhead's Home! Who doesn't have neighbors they've given pet names to?

TW and Pop started going to bingo every other month. If they're "lucky" they win all kinds of dumb prizes. They were lucky in July but on Chocolate Wafer Day, they won vanilla and strawberry wafers. What the —?

Since I first started blogging, I'd wanted to call my Friday posts Feral Friday. It finally happened regularly in August. In this particular post, I discussed the importance of a good cropped photo.

September was my 10th Blogoversary. TW and I had a difference of opinion on the state of the blog. She wanted to stop it altogether and disappear into the sunset. Neither of us like long goodbyes. I wanted to keep plugging away cos I still had things to say. We compromised—even though I was dragged hissing and screaming—that I should post once a week rather than three time. She said it wasn't worth the work to get less than 200 views per post. She saw how that worked out. Now I get less than that once a week but she doesn't have to put in the work.

With the new once a week schedule, our October posts were heavy on Halloween and scary art images.

2019 Year-End, Rear-End Review

Music has always played an important part in TW's life, even before she had cats. In 2019, we started participating in the Monday Music Moves Me blog hop. Even though my new posting schedule didn't allow me to participate, I was made November's honorary "conductor." I picked some cool prompts.

As you would expect, December's posts focused on all things Christmas and cold weather. Somehow Feral Friday turned "Comfy and Cozy."

I don't know where 2020 is gonna lead this little ghetto kitteh. I have a lot to say but TW doesn't have the time to dedicate to letting me say it and that, my furrends, is a felony.

As I always say, thanks for coming along for the ride. The terrain might be rocky right now but I'll try to find a more direct road to the future. This blog is done for your enjoyment with you in mind. Without your continued support, I'd lose my desire to write so I can't thank you enough.

Did you have a fave post from this year?

  14. You took a lot of time on your year-end recap. It's fun to look back and remember all the things you did or accomplished. I recently re-linked several hundred photos on my blog (post hack / moving to wordpress). It was a pain in the rear but it was fun to revisit all those posts and photos.

  15. We had a bad year of visiting blogs in 2019 with so much happening at our place, but Mom has promised she will do better in 2020. You had a busy year, and our mom says she understands TW’s desire to spend less time blogging. Life is short, CK. We will try to be here whenever you are. Wishing everyone a wonderful 2020!
