Many of the images I publish have been cropped for a very good reason. One of the rules of the Foto Frenzy of Flashback Friday is that we can't crop the images. They appear unedited.
This Christmas image ran in 2013 in our post about my Secret Paws' package in a tightly cropped state. A very tight crop indeed. When the randomizer picked this foto for today flashback I didn't want to use it. I wanted to pick another. Cos it's a Christmas foto was the least of my objections.
Today you get to see the entire uncropped foto #3720, thanks to Angels Eric and Flynn's mum. EEK! DON'T LOOK! I think I'm more embarrassed then TW. Oh, she's embarrassed cos she's in the foto even though she didn't have nearly as many gray hairs in December 2013 as she has now. Maybe it's not her good side as if she has one. I'm embarrassed cos she's in the foto too but also for the fact that you all get to see the pig sty I live in. Once you learn how to crop a foto which you can do in almost any photo app, there really aren't many that can't be neatened up and published. A simple tight crop can make the foto look all sanitized but it doesn't get rid of the clutter in real life. Too bad we can't crop out parts of our lives and environment that easily.
Let's now join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held weekly at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics with further comments in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. Today it relates to number one.
1. I am a stickler for food. By that I mean, I won't eat cheap, store-brand food. It might have the same ingredients as brand-name cat food but I won't do more than sniff it. When it comes to the peeps food, they don't care. They'll eat anything even stuff from Aldi. Seriously, would your peep eat Clancy's potato chips?
2. By the end of August, I plan to send Pop to the hospital. He made me write that cos I allegedly "attacked" him "brutally" a few nights ago.
3. My teeth are my favorite things about myself. My claws come in a close second. Since my teeth are so sharp, I don't really need to use my claws much to defend myself. Besides my dew claw gets caught on everything.
4. These days, my biggest priority is ME. Taking care of ME. Making sure the peeps take care of ME. If I see any irregularities with my care, that's when my teeth come into play.
Next we hop over to my Feral Friday entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using digital, Photoshop and original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into works of art.
As summer draws to a close, I drew myself eating the last ice cream cone of the season. Ms. Ellen made this treat for me last summer and I'm still enjoying it. To be truthful, I should have cropped HHGutt out of the painting and the puzzle.
Wonder how I'd look in a crop top?
My human used to crop out all the house clutter in our photos... and then one day she thought, "Hey, why don't I get rid of some of this clutter?" And she DID! It was a miracle.
ReplyDeleteI've gotten better about recognizing the clutter before I take the picture - but I've had some doozies. It always makes me sad when I get a one in a million shot of one of my kitties, but the background makes it unusable.
ReplyDeleteYes, cropping photos is a talent that we've been using for years, especially because The Hubby is a packrat and I want to focus the attention on the kitties, not the stack of tools, doors, sawdust, etc. that's all over our place. I've thought of using a backdrop, but cute stuff happens and I've got to snap photos of it!
ReplyDeleteTell TW I am sorry I chose that photo for you, but she was brave and used it.
ReplyDeleteI have hundreds of photos I have cropped my clutter out of.
I nearly used a Secret Paw post today for the flashback but decided to keep it until nearer Christmas and used the selection of one photo posts instead. My flashbacks are getting near to the time Eric went to the Bridge so I will do more like that so I can use older ones.
Good fill ins! Flynn was a picky eater and preferred to catch his own. Eric would inhale anything put in front of him, but neither would touch people food.
I love that art effect, you look like an oil painting.
Thanks for the puzzle which I will do tonight.
I've got some clutter that I wish I could crop out of my life. When I can't crop photos, I have been known to color the clutter out. It looks kind of bad, but I still use the photo.😹 Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThose were fun photos CK and your fill in answers were great too, but you need to at least give Pop a week off to recover.
ReplyDeleteI hope your pop is okay. No hospital visits for him, okay?
ReplyDeleteYour fill-ins made me chuckle. You're all about you and that's as it should be.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥
I like the photo, it makes me feel better about all the stuff we have at our house. Most of it is cat stuff too :) Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. My favorite part of you is that adorable built-in bikini. And anyone would be lucky to have those teeth bite them. Thank you for the puzzle. I am off to do it now.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend! XO
I sure hope #2 doesn't happen!!! Don't worry about the clutter...we all have it. Some days I would like to just get a dumpster for a major purge. It would be so much easier than going through things carefully.
ReplyDeleteMy mum hates clutter so there isn't much of it on our photos unless it's on her desk and it happens to be behind me in a shot.
ReplyDeleteMy mum also has more grey hair than she did back in 2013. A lot more :)
Lovely art!
We definitely agree most strongly with numbers 3 and 4.
ReplyDeleteWe think your Teeth and Claws are Most Impressive. As far as food goes, however, We would eat almost anything (except for Trixie. She's a bit more picky and She won't eat Human Food at all).
We wouldn't effur do anything that would send Mummy to the hospital (not on purrpose, anyway).
And We love your Art!
Purrs.
Your artwork rocks, CK! As for cropping out stuff in the background, we understand. When we take pics at the shelter, it's hard to not gets something in the background. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, TW and Pop!
Fun pictures and great answers ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteCK, we see lots of cat toys in your Christmas photo, and we'd never consider that clutter! Our house is filled with cat toys and is definitely a home that looks like it's lived in, so we won't be judging you at all. Also, your fill-in #1 has us thinking, have you had some of your favorite Chinese food lately? We sure hope so!
