Wednesday Word—RRRRRabbit

Back in the last century when TW was young—I believe she calls it the early 1970s—the style that all the women in her class were wearing was short rabbit-fur jackets. Some of you may remember them. It just so happened that TW needed a new jacket so she hits the trendy little shops in her ‘hood.

She went into one kinda upscale shop and started looking at jackets. The sales woman came over and quickly steered her toward the rabbit fur jackets. TW informed the sales woman she was looking for a wool pea coat because she didn’t wear animal fur. It was cruel. Bear in mind, this was before she’d ever heard of PeTA (back when they didn’t kill animals) or an animal rights movement. The sales woman slowly backed away, glared at TW and sounded hurt as she loudly announced “WHAT? YOU DON’T WANT RRRRABBIT??” Yeah, she actually rolled her “R"As if, how dare TW!

Why did I bore you with this story? Last week Wild Calling sent me cat food. You might remember when they sent me DOG food by mistake. They sent four cans each of Rabbit Burrow and Magic Meadow Buffalo and I thank them very much. When TW mixed the rabbit in with my regular food, I sniffed and walked away. She was as shocked as that sales woman and in the same tone of voice said “WHAT? YOU DON’T LIKE RRRRABBIT??” I guess what comes around goes around.

Wild Calling says on their site that their food contains 96% healthy protein-rich ingredients and 100% essential goodness. It doesn’t contain grain, gluten or artificial ingredients. They are a family-owned company. All the food is made in the USA with nothing sourced from China. As delish as it sounds, this cat is a very picky eater in her old age. Who added that? Woman!!

The rrrrrrabbit didn’t go to waste cos a handsome black panfur in our parking garage made quick work of it which proves that just cos something is too rich for my blood doesn’t mean you won’t like it. TW has yet to give me the buffalo cos of my health issues which are completely unrelated.

In a completely unrelated note, I’ll be updating you on my health issues on FB if we find out anything. Hopefully, I’ll also give you a blow by blow on my trip to the vet sometime next week.

Disclaimer: I was sent the food as a prize but the words are my own. No one puts words into this ghetto kitteh’s mouth.

  5. Wizard likes wild rabbit when he catches them but won't eat it from a can. Cats are like kids, they don't want what's good for them.

  6. we hope you feel better soon, CK! Cousins Shep and Earl really love rabbit. Picky Pierre wouldn't hear of it, so we don't have it here very often. Newton loves it, too.

  7. You're not alone, CK. Truffles got some raw rabbit treats in the mail and didn't care for them. I was kind of creeped out by it too. We really do get the chance to try out that Wild Calling food, though :)

  10. Mom says she hates to admit it but she still has her RRRRabbit fur jacket from the 70s! She wasn't as enlightened as TW back then. I don't hate to admit that I LOVE rabbit.

  11. CK I am picky too. Mom opens a can and I look at it like you're giving me THIS to eat? Nawh I don't think so! Right now I'm down to only a handful of things I'll eat. I don't even like dried food either. So Mom is like trying different stuff before she buys a whole bunch because she knows I'll turn my delicate little nose up to it.

  14. Thanks for sharing about this food with us, CK. We're pretty picky about what we eat here. Our mom tried to give Zoe some of Moosey's food one time, and Zoe RAN out of the room. MOL.

We like that story about TW and shopping for a coat. Props to her for knowing what was what, even before groups like Peta.

Hope you're feeling okay, dear friend. We've been purring and praying!
