I’m hiding back here cos I’m kinda embarrassed. TW embarrassed me once again.
TW threw in the towel on the Blogging From A to Z Challenge after the Q post. We apologize to all those cats we didn’t get to feature at the bottom of the alphabet. While we were working on the challenge, TW was spending over 12 hours a day on the computer making images and trying to find adoptable cats with inneresting profiles who she could get permission to use. We fell behind in commenting and in return, our numbers have slipped. We naively thought doing the challenge would bring more eyes to this blog which hasn't happened but, truth be told, we didn't have time to visit any of the other participating blogs either. I bit off more than TW could chew. In addition, TW’s old, ancient eyes became dry and sore from not blinking. Then one night when her eye was half swollen shut, she made this decision. Of course, I’m not a quitter so I’m not down with her decision. It’s all on her. We’ve made up a list of people to thank.
Thanks to everybuddy who’s helped.
To the bloggers who provided contacts for their local shelters: Lisa (A Tonk’s Tail), Debbie (Glogirly), Linda (Savannah's Paw Tracks), Layla (Cat Wisdom 101), Maggie (Sundays at the Shelter), Kevin (Animal Shelter Volunteer Life), Karen (Furry Tails of the PDX Pride) and Brian and Terry (Brian’s Home). We regret we didn’t get to use cats from all of our blogging friends who provided contacts.
To the shelters and their volunteers who answered our calls and e-mails: Feline Rescue, Inc., Great Plains SPCA, PAWS of Norwalk, The Animal League of Green Valley, Happy Feet, New York City Siamese Rescue, Contra Costa Humane Society and Happy Landings Animal Rescue. I enjoyed working with all of them.
You’ll notice two obvious omissions. Unfortunately, we never heard back from A Call 4 Paws and didn’t receive bios from UCFCC. That’s show biz.
A big, heartfelt
to all. We wouldn’t have even started without you. My only regrets are that only a few of our cats were adopted and that TW crapped out on me.
Darling, You did a LOT of good! Some kitties gotted homes and others will. You are a very, very, very GOOD girl, and your Woman is a very very very good Girl too--well, not as good as YOU of course, but good for a Human. We loves you both--but the Blue Pillow is YOURS not HERS. XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteYou did pawsome! Truth be told, our Mommy is often afraid of commitments like this. Your human dove right in!
ReplyDeleteConcats to her and of course to you, too.
You two have a wonderful Monday!
XOXO
Don't feel badly, CK and TW. What you did already was a great effort!
ReplyDeleteWell at least your human started it, mine didn't even do dat!
ReplyDeleteIt WAS an awfully ambitious project! And I think you did an awesome job for going as long as you did. I didn't do the challenge because I didn't think it would work for me, and I'm happy with that decision.
ReplyDeleteYou did sooo much! Really hope it helped all those kitties get some attention. That's a beautiful heart of photos too. Our Mom can't even make one of those... So you did goods... nothing to be ashamed about.
ReplyDeletebtw - Our Mom has some info about that delivery failure notice thing and it aiin't good mewz, let me tell ya.
and Our Mom doesn't like it one bit. We're going to talks about it later. The mom added a new comment to the Cats with Blogs post from back a gazillion weeks ago. Been busy looking after kittens and all.
Here is that comment from FB that Mom wrote: "According to the one person who has answered me, anyone with a gmail account that has ever had a connection to Yahoo - the only way to get rid of the delivery failure notices is this ridiculous work around suggested by the blogger engineers - Create another gmail account and transfer the ownership of your blogger account to this new gmail account and don't have any connection to Yahoo and this new gmail account.
When the person who gave me this solution said to these engineers that most bloggers will not be able to do this, he said - 'I...warned Blogger Engineers that not everybody would go with the workaround. They stated the business case.'
I am trying to find out what happens to all the Google connections if you have to transfer gmail account ownership for your blogger account - such as your Picasa account. I don't have an answer yet."
Not Good Mewz... in fact it is ridiculous Mewz... So we thinks you and Your Mom have been doing goods stuffs and not to worry if you didn't finish the challenge.
Purrz,
From Oreo and Katie the Mom
Don't forget that you spread the word about a lot of adoptable kitties who wouldn't have had so many people know about them otherwise. That's huge, whether you finished the alphabet or not. We didn't do the challenge because the head peep would need to plan way, way ahead for something like that, and she's too overwhelmed with stuff as is, so we admire you for taking it on at all.
ReplyDeleteOh CK don;t be too hard on Mum..my eyes are knackered and sometimes i have to just step away...you can help nobody if you cannot help yourself..we think you did great..i cannot awlays keep up and feel super stressed and have to tell myself real world matters as well....so bravo mum! loves Fozziemum xxx
ReplyDeleteAw i'm sorry it didn't work out for you, but I think you guys were doing a fantastic job though
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
You have absolutely *nothing* to be embarrassed about. That was a huge undertaking and you got a bunch of adoptable cats some much needed attention.
ReplyDeleteWe hope you aren't too hard on your human, CK. She did all that she could. It sounds like so much work, and you and your human made it most of the way through, so be proud of yourselves, okay?
ReplyDeleteWe thought the challenge would bring us new visitors also but had the same result as you. And we didn't have time to visit new blogs in the challenge either. We almost crapped out a couple of times but mom is pretty pig headed and has refused to give up. You had the additional challenge of finding adoptable kitties and I think you did an amazing job.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely loving that you have a whole blog dedicated to your pet! New follower here. I'm stopping by from the "A to Z" challenge, and I look forward to visiting again!

Hey CK, I think you rocked it girl and those kitties were featured in style!
ReplyDeleteCK we agree with Brian that you did a fabulous job on the A-Z challenge. We find that the same people who we adore always visit and we rarely get new comers even though we leave comments on new bloggers account it doesn't mean they visit us in turn. But you always do a fantastic job with your posts. Oh our Mom just read that flaxseed is really good for dry eyes, just an FYI.
ReplyDeleteHey, don't feel too bad about it, CK and TW! You can only do what you can do, and TW needed to take care of herself or you wouldn't get ANY blogging done! You helped a lot of cats get exposure, whether or not they were actually adopted. Also, remember that people can stop by and read without commenting and those will only be counted as blog views. Our comments have gone down, but our blog views have gone up and we've gotten a couple new followers because of the challenge. I see you've got a new comment on this blog post because of the challenge, too! So you can take heart in that. Speaking of hearts, we love the one that TW did! Dare hasn't gotten adopted yet, but she thanks you for getting the word out about her. A couple people stopped by to look at her pics on our blog because of your post. :) We love you!
ReplyDeleteGrrll Furrend! Mes absolutely the proudest that yous pawticipated and mes must say (blush) med was furry remiss on visiting last week and during the A-Z! Between Mommy studying for a job interview, the trip back to Midway and then the Noro Virus when sh gotted home (thank you some anonymous sick person in a gas station on the #1) we has missed commenting on our furrends blogs and -- wes did not visit some.....
ReplyDeleteWe is proud that yous did it and wes sorry we did not come and supports yous!
Mes sure that yous did get some kitties homes and their organizations noticed, and wes will goes and visits the peoples yous has links to today.
Kisses
Nellie
CK you did a lot of good if even ONE kitty who didn't have a home found one.........each one is a little victory!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
I think you did a great job and I am sure the kitties that got adopted are very happy. You do a great job spreading the word to adopt through all your social media.
ReplyDeleteThat's OK, Keisha, you did a pawtastic job anyway. And you brought attention to kitties that need homes. We enjoyed reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lola and Lexy
What you did with your mom is already pawsome, anyway ! Purrs

ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about it CK, if just one cat had been adopted it would still be a good result. Several were adopted thanks to you highlighting them and that is a GREAT result.
ReplyDeleteYou check your numbers that closely? You rock. I rarely do anymore. I just try to keep on keepin' on!
ReplyDeleteBut CK, just think of all the good stuff you did do...the kitties that did get adopted. That's what really counts. Paws up!
ReplyDeleteCK, darling--your pillow is just waiting for you. I was in there a while ago keeping it warm for you, cause it is pretty darn chilly tonight--our fogs rolled in. Know what I'm sayin'???
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thanks, CK. You should be proud of what you and TW did, even if it didn't work out as you had planned. Hey, if even ONE more cat got adopted as a result, it would have been awesome. But way more than one were adopted! You da bomb!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and TW and Pop, too.
Oh, by the way ... we saw you in the Cats of the CB Calendar! How exciting that we get to see you there for a whole week! :)
ReplyDeleteCertainly a valiant effort, and helping even one kitty is a wonderful outcome. Because of other obligations we've been blogging and visiting less too and we feel bad about that even though our blogging is just for fun and we don't do all the good work for other kitties as you do. Maybe you can do Q-Z at your own pace!
ReplyDeleteHello darling, I hope your beautiful tum is settling and your, ahem, other business is returning to normal. So sorry you were not feeling well! Do you feel ready for a little visitor?
ReplyDeleteWe are full of admiration for your work on the A-Z we thought you did wonderfully and, yes, we realise it must have been a massive amount of work for TW. Well done for getting so far, and I know the rescues involved will have welcomed the shares for some pretty awesome cats. Get well - keep going.
ReplyDeleteYou did a lot of great work, CK and you can't blame yourself for TW's failings!! You tried your best! AND you've not been feeling tickety boo!! xoxox
ReplyDeletePeeEss We've been very behind in commenting and visiting because we (meaning The Staff) had a project on!!
