“Only” An Only Cat

Hello everybuddy and welcome to another edition of the  Blogging From A to Z Challenge. I’m your host CK and I’m an Only Cat and Only Cat is our O phrase. In the blogging community, we’re a rare breed of cat. There’s only me, Sammy, Spitty, Flynn and Truffles.

Being an Only Cat means I don’t have any fursibs to entertain me so I have to rely on TW and my imagination. Anything and everything can be a play thing.

I dare you to reach in and take my asparagus!
The other day when TW was wiping the counter she noticed Pop had left part of an asparagus spear there. I know it might come as a shock to you, as it did me, that TW wipes the counter. The spear must have rolled away after Pop snapped it off. TW picked it up and as a fluke flipped it to me cos she knew asparagus were on the list of veggies that were safe for cats. Not only did it bounce but it rolled too. I was both intrigued and enchanted. She threw; I chased. This went on for hours or at least until she got tired.

Unfortunately for me, said asparagus stalk dried up so TW threw it out. She’s promised me another one or maybe a stray green bean that she finds in one of the bodegas but so far she hasn’t produced the produce.

I’ll bet you cats in multicat households don’t have to resort to playing with fruits and vegetables, do you?

Each day during the Blogging From A to Z Challenge, I’m featuring an adoptable cat. Do you volunteer at a shelter and want one or more of your cats featured? Contact me by email or on FB or Twitter.

You may remember Oscar from Brian’s Home. I figured it couldn’t hurt to share it here. Therefore, O is for Oscar. He is a most handsome Mancat and he’s urgently waiting in Greenville, SC.

Oscar is an extremely laid back boy and is a loves-everyone kind of fellow. His owners have a toddler who has contracted an immune deficiency disorder and doctors orders are to get rid of everything with four legs, which includes their two dogs, one without eyes. Oscar is one and a half years old, up to date on shots, only lived inside, tested negative and is neutered. He is great around dogs and the little boy pulls his ears and tail and this laid back mancat does not seem to mind in the least.

If you can help dear Oscar, please contact Brian at brian (at) brianshomeblog (dot) com.

  1. I would probably eat asparagus if I had the chance. I've already eaten cantaloupe and broccoli, so I am a fruits and veggies kind of kitty!

  4. Being an only cat in the blogging world is quite rare, isn't it? Mommy tells me that I most likely won't be an only cat forever, though, so don't get used to it!!! --Truffles

Oscar has a very sad story...purring he finds his forever home very soon.

  7. I do enjoy being an "only"......don't have to fight for attention, treats, food, toys - its MINE ALL MINE. My Mom would like to have more kitties but I've already voted NO and I'm 15 so she listens to me!

Asparagus huh? I may give it a try.

    Hugs, Sammy

  12. I am eventually getting used to being an only cat but it was better when my brother was here. I don't play with veggies, I go and catch a mousie to play with. My mum says it is the first time she has had just one kitty since her very first cat. Before my humans adopted me and Eric she had 11 kitties, and Kitty Yumbum was the last of them and we came to keep her company because she was lonely.

  13. I'm not an only cat but i kind of live like one. My brothers pick on me so I avoid them. I don't like confrontation. I'm mama's girl and I hang with her. Mom doesn't give us vegetables but they sound fun to play with.

  15. It breaks my heart to read about cats that lose homes to kids, I decided after I got my first cat that there would be no children so that would never happen. I hope Oscar gets a forever home soon. I saw the Facebook post about your Mom and I hope she feels better soon.
