Factual Foto Frenzy

It’s the day before our country celebrates it’s independence. I’m celebrating another Friday Foto Frenzy so let’s get the pawty started. This blog isn’t about politics but I figured I’d mention a few of this countries' historic events coinciding with the fotos that were chosen.

#1992

1992 was a good year for most although TW lost her Dad that year. Bill Clinton Socks won the Presidency, the Nicotine patch was innerduced and the humans of 15 and Meowing got married. In honor of that momentous occasion, they chose foto #1992, which was a pawsome decision. This is a particular favorite of ours that we used on my 2011 Christmas card. If you look at my tailio, you’ll see it’s extra bushy. Sometimes when I play with TW and she chases me around the condo, I’ll suddenly get a bushy tail and then she has to remind me that we’re only playing. This is one of the few times, she’s actually gotten to photograph me with the “Spitty” tail as she calls it although it had gotten a lot less bushy by the time she took the foto.

The Kitties Blue chose a good one in #1973. I think that was the year their Mom was born or something. That was also the year George Steinbrenner bought the NY Yankees, the Watergate hearings began, Secretariet won the Triple Crown of horse racing and Roe v. Wade was passed into law. This foto was taken in 2011 when Occupy Wall Street started their NYC occupation which soon spread throughout the country. The peeps and I were following the occupation closely in hopes that something would get accomplished and those criminals who collapsed our economy would get their just desserts. Little Crow, my good Twitter furrend and his Dad who took part in Occupy Denver sent me this bumper sticker that I proudly sat on the table and posed with. We are the 99% who share 1% of this countries’ wealth.

#1973

My special furrend Flynn chose #1951. That was the year Alan Freed coined the term rocknroll. the Pill was invented by Luis Mirmontes, direct dial coast-to-coast telephone service began in the US and the first color television broadcast was aired. The 22rd Amendment was ratified in 1951 which limits US presidential terms of office to eight years or two terms.

#1951

In this foto I’m coyly showing off my itsy bitsy bikini while daring someone to make a grab for my toys. Those toys just happened to be my favorite toys in the world. A few years later it went missing and TW tried replacing it with a cheaper model which I turned my nose up at. We later found the original and it’s still one of my fave shmousies that I toss around with abandon.

Speaking of toys, our blogging and Twitter furrend Baby Patches’ human is once again in need of our support to keep her business Nip and Bones up and running. I’d hate to see it close it’s virtual doors because it was the first US shop to feature silvervine. I get my peacock feathers exclusively at Nip and Bones and that's where we bought my Skinneeez shmousy in the foto above. From now until July 6th, they’re having a 4th of July Blowout Sale with items discounted up to 60%. Now would be a great time to do early holiday shopping! Or, you can just buy ME something. NOTE: I was not compensated in any way to write this.

What’s your favorite toy?

  14. We love all these photos. You look quite cute in all of them, C.K. Mom wants to give TW a big kiss and hugs for thinking she was born in 1973. We actually picked the year she and Dad got married just like Mom Ellen at 15&Meowing did. Have a great holiday weekend and stay safe. 15. What a great idea to tie your photos into historical facts! My faves are Socks winning the Presidency (not his owner...HA!) and Secretariats's Triple Crown :)

  16. I'm glad that you choose to write about yourself instead of politics. You are way more important than those old guys in suits! You are far more stunning too. Maybe our next president will have a cat. That would be pawsome. Cats make good cabinet members and consultants too. Socks was great as president (please note that I didn't say Bill Clinton).
