In a Pickle

CK is in a pickle. Well, actually as you can see above, I’m ON a pickle— my Tickle Pickle from Tipsy Nip. There’s a fun story behind my Tickle Pickle who we’ll call Mike for brevity.

For years I’ve been reading wonderful Tickle Pickle reviews. Sparkle calls it one of her favorite toys. Yet, TW refused to do the right thing and buy it for me.  She said the postage was more expensive than the toy and she never, ever pays postage for anything online.  She was waiting for me to win one or finagle a free one.

Tummy Tickler time

In December, we got an e-mail saying they were having a postage-free week.  TW’s fingers flew across the keyboard.  She ordered a pickle and tummy tickler.  Don’t ax me why a tummy tickler since I don’t ever roll on my back. Did she think it would make me start?

The box came right before Christmas.  TW didn’t open it.  She put it under the Christmas tree.  I wish I had a flashy box to capture the look on her face on December 25 when she opened the package.  Out came the tummy tickler and … a wand toy called a Tickle Tassel.  She stuck her hard in and turned the box upside down; she shined a flashlight in it.  No Tickle Pickle.

The folks at Tipsy Nip didn’t know how they fudged up the order and were apologetic. They promised to make good and send a pickle and I could keep the wand toy. It was a gift to make up their their error.

It was a good thing I didn’t have to send the wand toy back because it was a huge hit with me. The wand toy features colors that a cat responds best to: purple blue, green and yellow. I sniffed the Tummy Tickler but had a great time jumping for the Tickle Tassel. It was my favorite wand toy ever or until the next one came for review—postage free.

A few weeks later, Mike arrived! TW got the flashy box and couldn’t wait to capture the look of joy on my face as I bunnykicked Mike. She turned on the flashy box and laid him on my tissue paper. I smelled Mike and started scraping the tissue. I walked away, leaving her in shock and awe. How could I not like Mike? A week later, she again laid Mike on the tissue. Again I scraped. I just wasn’t that into him. Take it away, woman! Bury it!

Several weeks later, I picked Mike out of the toy basket and went wild for him. Since that day, he’s been one of my fave toys. When TW rotated toys, she moved him into Pop’s bedroom. When I’m not bunnykicking Mike, I sleep with my head resting on him.

I’m not a big fan of nip toys but usually, I have the exact opposite reaction. I love them when I first get them only to reject them a day later. It doesn’t matter if TW marinates them in nip. TW is thinking that maybe Mike’s high potency organic nip was too strong and it needed time to mellow. I’m not telling cos I like giving her a hard time. The only thing I’ll say is:

Yo, Tipsy Nip! Success! I love the Tickle Pickle! Mike is the love of my life. Thanks for sending him to me.

I don’t want a nickle, I just want to play with my Tickle Pickle.
