Straight to Hell

Hola kitties! You all know Nellie Bellie was The Cat from Hell but did you know she made me an honorary cat from hell? TW was not amused. She doesn’t like the devil in me even though she’s always called the markings around my nose “devil horns.” She'd prefer a sweet cat such as Nicky was.

Straight to Hell

Straight to Hell
Thanks to Nellie's mom Barb for the badge.
“Straight to Hell” may very well be my theme song, she says. Doesn’t she know all cats go to heaven? Anyhoo, take yesterday. Pop was eating lunch and before TW could warn him that I was near him, his arm was bleeding from a tooth mark. I mean, he was wearing a short-sleeve t-shirt and his arm was dangling in my way. What's a cat to do?

This week’s music Monday prompt, once again chosen by Michele from AngelsBark, is songs about heaven and hell. I’m gonna have some fun with this one. As if you couldn't guess, I'm participating in this week's #4M Music Monday blog hop co-hosted by Curious as a Cathy.

I was going to share just a couple of songs but when I did a search of our iTunes, there were dozens of songs with heaven or hell in the titles. I took about a dozen of them and a playlist was born. I started with the heavenly songs.

"Heaven"—Robyn Hitchcock
"Heaven"—Psychedelic Furs
"Near Wild Heaven"—R.E.M. with Mike Mills singing lead
"Monkey Goes to Heaven"—Pixies
"Knockin' on Heaven's Door"—Guns 'n' Roses

Then we kinda went to purgatory:
"Heaven or Hell"—Outlaws with a Willie Nelson song (from Pop's collection)

Going down (bwahaha)  …

Straight to Hell

"Gimme Hell"—Jesus and Mary Chain
"To Hell With Poverty"—Gang of 4 (the start of two political songs along with the next one)
"Straight to Hell—Clash
"Hayride to Hell"—Hoodoo Gurus (I'll bet it's a fun hayride to Hell's gates. See what I did thre? MOL)
"Hell's Gates"—Jason & the Scorchers
"Straight to Hell"—Drivin' n' Cryin' (A totally different song than the Clash song.)

We left out the obvious ones like "Bat Out of Hell," "Heaven Only Knows" and "Heaven Help Us All" cos we know they'll be shared by others and we really like our playlist as is. Heh Heh. TW didn't want me to tell you this but she used to have a "thing" for Meat Loaf, the singer, that is. I haven't really tasted it but I think I might have a "thing" for meatloaf, the food.

Straight to Hell

In this gratuitous stunning pic of me, you can see the devil's horn around my nose but do you really think I'm a cat from hell?

We're with you! We love your posts and we think your red horns blend perfectly with your expressive ears! Also we strongly feel all we cats should let our "inner devil" come out. Although for some reason our human does not agree...

Happy Memorial Day; honoring All of those who've died while in service to their country and its citizens.
I've always loved Eric Clapton's version of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"

Those are such great pics of you, both with the devil eyes and looking angelic :) I had to laugh that we titled our post All Cats Go To Heaven and you used that line too...we sure on the same wavelength! Nice to see a little country here...and I recognize Guns 'n Roses too.

Sounds like you were having a hell of a good time with that playlist CK! Ouch, poor Pop.

Nice playlist, CK! We wondered the same thing as the Swiss Cats ... "Highway to Hell," by AC/DC?

Some good tunes, CK. We prefer Heaven to Hell. :)

Great choices for heaven and Hell. I would have included Highway to Hell too. Is it wise to bite the arm attached to a hand that feeds you? Cute photo of you, but every photo of you is adorable. XO

Keisha,

You're definitely not a cat from hell! You''re a pAwesome kitty who's a good, good friend and I love to boogie with you every Monday. :) I see that you matched me with GNR 'Knocking on Heaven's Door' song feature. All of your other selections are introductions, so thank you for turning me onto those tunes! Have a furtastic week and thanks for remembering our fallen heroes.

Absolutely not. We're HUGE CK fans! One of my favorite songs with heaven in the name is Alice in Chain's Heaven Beside You.

A devil kitty you are not!! You are pure angel all the way! Horns be damned!

This is an awesome playlist! I can always count on you presenting new and cool songs to me and this playlist is no different. Almost all of these are new-to-me and I am really digging the entire playlist. My favs are Robin Hitchcock, Psychedelic Furs, of course REM, Jason & the Scorchers, and Drivin' & Cryin (I been doing a lot of that lately...).
All really good songs.
The Hayride to Hell by the HooDoo Gurus is a trip. I LOVE the album cover art!

Excellent songs for us -- Thanks so much!
Have a great week,

Ugh, that last photo...too much stunning! I can't handle it.

My biggest takeaway from this post was being introduced to the Hoodoo Gurus. Where have I been? (obviously not to Australia). Wow! And of course, Guns and Roses, which many of us picked, but I could listen to it again and again. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

That is a great playlist with a few I don't know, and I am going to listen to all the songs tomorrow.
You're not a cat from hell, those horns give you character.

I just listened to your playlist and it is great! I couldn't see the last two as it said they are unavailable in my country. It was good to hear the Guns'n'Roses version of Knocking on Heaven's Door. I haven't heard it for ages.
I can't believe I am saying this because it is not usually my thing, but I enjoyed Hayride to Hell!
