TW says I’m a slave to the clock; that I clock watch like someone who has a nine-to-five job. I say she’s wrong, of course.
Here’s her reasoning. I get three squares a day; my fave being my dinner of Fancy Feast Grilled Tuna in Gravy. I get that at 4 pm sharp. TW thinks just cos she goes missing most afternoons and doesn’t give me my gut rot (Soulistic grain free with pumpkin soup) until 3 pm, I’m supposed to wait until at least 6 to get my FF. Nope. Even if I just got through chowing down on gut rot at 3:59, I still start crying at 4 for the FF.
CK: Have you looked at the time? It’s 4 o’clock.
TW: How can you possibly be hungry? You just finished eating your Luna Tuna that you like so much.
CK: You are a liar! You mean that gut rot of which I barely tolerate? I want some real food. Where’s my tuna!
TW: Can you wait a little while?
CK: No! This is my feeding time and I want my food!
At this point, it’s already 4:02 but I get my tuna. I eat one or two mouthfuls and save the rest until later when I’m really hungry. This aggravates TW so I’ve accomplished both my goals.
IMPORTANT WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS before we get to the music! I entered the Petco Love Changes Everything contest to raise more money for UCFCC (Union City Feral Cat Committee). If'n the mood strikes you, I'd appreciate if you'd go to the link and Like my stunning and touching photo with Pop. UCFCC will be eligible for a $500 grant.

It's time for the Music Movies Me part of the show for those fans of music. I'm joining the blog hop over at Curious as a Cathy. This weeks prompt is songs with color in their title. Strangely enough, most of the songs that first popped into our mind were songs containing "black" and "white." However, black and white are not colors because they do not have specific wavelengths so I'll save them for another week.
Our iTunes library contains what looks like a hunnert different songs with green in the title. Everything from "It's Not Easy Being Green" to CCR's "Green River" with lots of green in between. There's also bands with green in their name: Green Day, Green on Red, Al Green, and Green.
Saturday is St. Paddy's Day so I'm gonna pick a couple songs by Irish bands and a couple of songs with green. Per usual we couldn't find the song we really wanted. This should be fun.
When TW was in her 20s, she and Aunt Pauline went to see the Clancy Brothers in concert at Carnegie Hall for St. Patrick's Day. TW left a fan and went out and bought their Greatest Hits which she'd play during each year's Paddy's party at the old house although this isn't much of a party song.
Here's another one from our iTunes library. This is a better song for dancing and drinking. I'm presuming here that tan is a color. Heh heh. Raise your glass, kick up your heels and dance.
This tune comes from our collection. Gotta love the name of the band even though Polecats aren't real cats. These guys are hep cats.
Some of you guys know TW used togroupie "work for" follow R.E.M. so she's making me include one of their songs. The things I do to keep the peace. She picked this one cos it has green in the title and she saw them about a hunnert million times on the U.S. leg of the Reconstruction tour.
I wish I could have access to my old St. Paddy's Day playlist so I could have shared it with you but that disappeared with Grooveshark. There were some goodies on it as you can imagine.
I'll be back on Wednesday with a giveaway so mark that date on your calendar. Until then keep rockin' and do eat the green nip.

Binga used to be a lot more of a nag about dinnertime, but I think that since she gets food whenever she wants, she sort of spreads out her nagging a little more.
ReplyDeleteI don't need a clock, CK, Granny says I'm her walking clock...MOL :D About the food, it's worth a try...or twenty...MOL :D Pawkisses for a Happy Day :) <3
ReplyDeleteBtw thank you for the music, Granny is in ecstasy of R.E.M. Great choise!
The ferals seem more confused by the time change that we are since the Dad takes their food out when it's still dark in the morning. Nice tunes CK, we went by and voted!
ReplyDeleteOur furbro Mr. Chivers has IBD and gets fed like a hundred small meals a day. We think he is faking his gut rot. It's ok though as we get his leftovers an he's an old guy. Great music choice CK. Can't wait to see what surprise you have on Wed. Purrs
ReplyDeleteGreat set here! A black & tan, by the way, is stout and lager mixed (e.g. Guinness and Harp). Thanks for getting St. Paddy's name right. I see it spelled "St. Patty" and I want to hit someone with a hurling stick...
ReplyDeleteWe have one cat (who's probably not long for this world) who thinks it's time to eat any time Mary moves, even if it's at 3 AM when she gets up to go to the bathroom.
LOL it's the routine! You get hungry at 4:00 even if you just ate :-)
ReplyDeleteNaturally, you stick to the clock and the routine. And humans are wrong and lie to us all the time. You can practically set your clock by their lies!
ReplyDeleteI get 2 meals a day....that's it.......except for treats and maybe a tad of bacon. You get the idea. FF is my choice for a fun loving day. Salmon is a big seller here. I prefer to dine around 6ish but brekkie must be as soon as mom wakes up and is mobile. No sitting around slushing tea....me first.
ReplyDeleteShoko
My animals eat whenever I feel like feeding them. ; ) Hahaha, just kidding they eat when I get out of bed. Go to the bathroom at 3:00 a.m., it's time to eat. Jake only gets a teaspoon of food or he would be the size of a house. I'm having trouble getting the Petco page to load, I'll try later.
ReplyDeleteFound your photo, liked and shared. Good luck!
DeleteMy puppy eats in the morning when I get my coffee & then he gets some when I'm making supper. It's a half a bowl each so don't want him getting chubby & unhealthy.. sorry I can't say more... love the tunes, but gotta run for a doctor's appointment. Thanks so much for joining us. BIG HUGS
ReplyDeleteManny and Chili Bruce will beg for food while they are still eating a meal! If they hear me working in the kitchen to get things ready for The O Cats or Angel, they think they need some too!
ReplyDeleteRoutine is the key, no matter if the humans mess with the clock ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteck....we dunno what we iz knot doin but we dunno how ta votez for ewe N pop ???
ReplyDeletewe clicked de linkz N see ewe up bove but due knot see a vote button frum ther ??
oh, N sum onez cuzin who livez thata way >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> haz her FF everee day at 4 sharp two ;) ☺☺♥♥
I went to vote for you, but like the Tabbies I couldn't see a vote button. I liked the photo and am assuming that is the way to vote.
ReplyDeleteA green song I used to like was Green Tambourine by the Lemon Pipers. It was the only record of theirs that I did like though.
All those songs but I still have an earworm from the title - the Stones Time is on my side...
ReplyDeleteMudpie is a grazer so the time means little to her. She gets up when she feels like it too, although she has been getting up earlier lately.
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know TW worked for REM, that is impressive. I like how you chose all green for St. Patty's Day. My hubby loves CCR, we have see John Fogerty 3 times. I am off to vote for you. XO
ReplyDeleteFour hours? I only moved my clock back one hour. Getting up today was tough. I love a song that can be danced to, but REM was good, too. A little slower dance but good none-the-less.
ReplyDeleteCathy,
ReplyDeleteWell...I'm glad Keisha slept in a bit so to not make an early demand of food Sunday morning. She gets up about the same time I do on week days. The weekends are totally a different story as I do my best to catch some much needed Zs. I know cats sleep 18 out of 24 hours so they can't relate to us humans need for sleep. Word of caution, do not read this aloud or Keisha will hate me forever and I don't really want to be on her hit list but anywho, she's a little stinker. You may have to threaten to put her outdoors to round up her food if she insists on making life difficult. That may soften her up and give her reason to pawse before making you do back flips to get her meal. :) It was great having you on the dance floor. You remembered St. Patty's Day. Good for you! I totally forgot. That would've been pawsome had I thought to include a green song title. *sigh* Oh well...maybe another time. Thanks for boogieing with me and have a colorific week, my friend!
I think everyone's internal clock gets thrown off with the time change. Harley usually climbs onto my pillow about 30 minutes before I get up. But no Harley alarm clock this morning!
ReplyDeleteWe're definitely good for a vote, CK! Way to keep TW on her toes ... we can't make it too easy on them! ~Bear Cat
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture with Pop. We voted. We would have voted three times but they wouldn't let us.

You get only 3 meals a day? How do you survive?! I think I ate at least 9 times the other day, and that's freshly warmed food. It's awful when the people are at work and I have to wait all day to be fed another freshly warmed plate of rabbit meatiness.
ReplyDeleteWe liked your photo with pop. Good luck.
My former cat, Amelia had food available all of the time. She only complained when a then 2 year old grandson moved in with me and began chasing her. :)
ReplyDeleteYour tunes are awesome and perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

I'm suddenly thirsty for a Black and Tan
ReplyDeleteFun set here. I enjoy some of the Irish music. They have an annual Celtic Festival here which I love and I went one year when this band was playing (I think it was Seven Nations) and I really dug their sound. I ended up leaving with 4 of their CDs!
ReplyDelete"Raised on Black & Tans" was a cool song. I used to own a bar and we served a lot of those!
Never heard of the Polecats. Interesting name!
R.E.M. is a great band. My favorite song by them is also a color song: Orange Crush. So were you really a R.E.M. groupie??
And I do have another question: Are you Cathy or Keisha?? at the bottom of your page it says "Cathy Keisha" --- so please tell me what you prefer.
Have a great weekend!
Michele at Angels Bark
CK is the name I go by.
DeleteMy internal clock will be off until we change the clocks back again in the fall. ;) NICE job on the song selections - I enjoyed them all! thanks for the dance!
ReplyDeleteA message for your cat, I did vote for that picture (and gladly). Your post rocked because it was different. OK, so tan isn't a color in that song but oh, who cares. I hoisted a Guinness or two yesterday, myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd not only that, my son was born on St. Patty's Day, which I guess makes him honorary Irish. He gets corned beef and cabbage for his birthday meal along with his favorite, spinach pie. He's a good sport about it. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
