Unboxing my Christmas Cards

TW has been running late this season. Very late. Usually my Christmas cards are written and mailed way before I do a Christmas card reveal here on the blog. I must tell you I wasn't very happy with the way my snail mail cards came out so my art today will consist of two versions of my e-card, which I adore.

Those who do receive my cards domestically should note the 2017 CK stamps that were issued by the USPS. They've been recognizing famous artists with stamps for the past few years. I'm honored they chose me.

This is the static version. We also made an animated card cos … well … cos it's never been done before and we thought it would be fun. I like to be an innovator, not a follower.

I'm glad I'm inside watching the snow and not outside. TW found the frame in one of the online apps while we were searching for a frame for our Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day post in August. We added type in Photoshop and then the snow in LunaPic. I LOVE how it came out however it totally didn't translate to paper cards. I thought it was too dark and dreary. I love color. Please feel free to take one of e-cards to display it on your blogs.

Then we used Photoshop to put them all neatly in a box which we used to create the lead image.

I'm sending a big shout out to Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty who hosts the Caturday Art Blog Hop. Stop by and see art created using different online apps, Photoshop or artistically drawn. We have some talented kitties in the CB. Feel free to participate next week. Athena and her mum would love to have you.

BREAKING NEWS: We made a decision to cut back on blogging in 2018. I know we've said it before but this time we mean it. Even though we love Athena, her mum Marie and the Caturday Art blog hop, we've made the tough decision not to publish on Caturday come the new year. To do it the way we like—with the gallery lead image—and in a way that's fun for us and we hope you too, is time consuming. We've had lots of fun creating art since the beginning of 2014. That's a lot of art. We'll try to continue to visit and comment on your art and maybe participate once a month or so. We figure many of our images during the week are art created in Photoshop. This was an extremely hard decision to make but we've probably taken our Caturday art as far as we can.

  3. Your ecard is lovely, CK! Bummer that the printed version was a disappointment. I understand about wanting to cut down on the art posts - digital art is time consuming! My human only wants to do it if she can use it for something that will make money.

  6. I received my cat scratcher yesterday. I tried to leave a comment on Friday's post but my internet ate it. The scratcher is awesome, I just need to attach the non-skid feet and Jake will be able to use it. Thanks again. Merry Christmas!

  11. Love your cards!! Wait, you are ONLY skipping Saturday? Seriously? I only commit to Monday, Wednesday and Friday for myself (for Cody's blog), Dakota's is WAY less! If I do more on Cody's (or less) guess what? I don't care! I was toying with ending blogging completely in 2018 but we will see how that plays out. You never know! catchatwithcarenandcody

  13. We love your card, CK! Hey, maybe you could do your art on Friday and then it would fall into Saturday since you aren't posting that day. Just a thought.

  16. What an AWSOME eCard!!
Oh CK! Your Caturday Art has pushed me to do better! But I do understand about the posting. When Nellie passed I quit completely and then when I was so very ill, I was only posting twice a week.I am back to doing more often, keeping up with the following and commenting is very time consuming. I am thinking of cutting back as well. Purrhaps we should "share" a blog! LOL!
    Happy Holidays!

  17. My darling CK, I want to wish you and the Woman and Pop the very bestest of Christmases. Despite all evidence to the contrary ::glares at Human:: I love you and gaze longingly at my blue pillow all the time. Maybe after she retires in mid-2018, things will get better? Anyway, love you t-h-i-s m-u-c-h! XOXOXO, Spitty

  18. Your card ROCKS, CK. We love your art, but we do understand that it's time consuming, because we can tell you work really hard on it each week. We like the Island Cats' suggestion about posting it on Friday. Maybe you could do that?

Big hugs, and Merry Christmas to you, TW and Pop! Love you guys!

  21. Beautiful card, CK. I can understand that when making art seems more like work than fun; it's time to take a break. Can I suggest just doing it when you're inspired?
Merry Christmas, CK, TW and Pop!
