Kicking 2017 to the Curb Fill-Ins & Art

2017 has been a crappy year for a lot of people. I say goodbye, good riddance and don't let the door hit you on the way out. This is the last of my official art posts on Caturday. I may be posting some art as part of my blog hopping on Friday. Today I'll be offering my fill-in answers too since I had an important post yesterday which pre-empted all the usual fanfare. I thought yesterday's lead image was pretty arty if I do say so myself.

Kicking 2017 to the Curb Fill-Ins & Art

I made a New Year's card from this week's art. The stars remind me of New Year's. I'm looking to the future.

Kicking 2017 to the Curb Fill-Ins & Art

This art speaks to me. It tells a story. I'm as much a star as those background stars. The background might be a curtain. I'm standing in front of that curtain looking out into a wildly-screaming audience … squinting way up to the cheap seats. The gels on the lights have me bathed in gentle blues and pinks and purples. I'm taking in the love of my fans. Thank you! Thank you! You are too kind!

I'm sending a big shout out to Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty who hosts the Caturday Art Blog Hop. Stop by and see art created using different online apps, Photoshop or artistically drawn. We have some talented kitties in the CB. Feel free to participate next week. Athena and her mum would love if you do.

Kicking 2017 to the Curb Fill-Ins & Art

The Friendly Fill-Ins are hosted each and every week by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. They make up the fill-ins and I make up the answers. TW may answer the fill-ins differently and sometimes today I share a couple of TW's answers along with my own.

1. On New Year's Eve, the peeps will wait until midnight when they can look out the window and see the fireworks display over Central Park in NYC. Of course, once the new building gets built, they will lose that view. TW used to be a party animal on NYE. For years she'd go to her fave club, Maxwells, to see the bands—usually the Feelies or Yo La Tengo but one year they had Soul Asylum. The last couple of years that she went out, she went into New York to see the Patti Smith Group at the Bowery Ballroom rock in the New Year.

2. One goal I have for 2018 is to help homeless kitties find their forever homes any way I can. I also plan to stay healthy and continue to live in our condo. Our condo was just reassessed for twice the value so we're hoping our taxes won't double. If they do, we'll be applying for a room at the senior place which is something none of us want. Pop just prepaid our 2018 taxes so we can get credit for it on our income taxes before the new Make the Rich Richer tax bill goes into effect.

3. In 2017, I accomplished the bare minimum thanks to TW. I didn't become an internet sensation nor did I start making mucho dinero from the blog. And that Instagram account TW promised me? Never happened. Pop managed to keep his job even though his boss was axed but TW accomplished nothing except sucking oxygen.

4. I helped less fortunate kitties in 2017. After the BlogPaws' conference, I was able to make food donations to UCFCC as well as donating to PAWS of Norwalk. TW also fed a bunch of homeless kitties. I hope I helped kitties find their forever homes by sharing. Still we have to do more in 2018.

  4. I didn't think it possible, but the blues and pinks make you even more stunning. I hope you and your family have a great 2018.
I shall be glad to see the back of 2017. It started with bad news for my health early in January and went downhill from there. The worst was losing Flynn in May. Hopefully things are turning around now.

  7. I said the same thing about 2017 to my hubby yesterday. Very pretty art, so appropriate being that you are a star. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. You always do a wonderful job helping kitties in need and I know you will continue to. I hope your taxes don't double either. Here's to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2018! XO

  11. oh how you made me laugh but I am NOT laughing at the possibility of you having to have a room at the "senior place", praying that is NOT the case. We are with you on 2017 being crappy....you also made me laugh about what you accomplished in 2017 cause I am right there with you! Guess what one of my "intentions" is for 2018? To BLOG LESS...seriously!!! And...to return to the reason that we began blogging in the first place and to quit focusing on numbers.........in the big picture...they mean NOTHING. Love your artwork and we LOVE YOU AND YOUR HONESTY! YOU ALWAYS ROCK! HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody

  17. Anytime you can help the homeless kitties why that's a win for sure BFGF. 2017 was actually a very good year for me and TKS and Mom L and Dad P. This is the year we all found our permanent home forever and forever. We are not moving again!! Even though getting our home trashed all our saved green papers, I would not want to undo our decision. Warm paw pats to you and TW

  20. Such dreamy artwork of you, CK! We think you, TW and Pop did lots of good in 2017. If you ever need reminding, just think of all the cats you helped this year -- including the PAWS kitties. You are great friends to us all, and we love you! Happy New Year. Let's hope for a 2018 full of peace, love and joy!

Nice artwork! The fill-ins...I cannot think of Patti Smith without thinking of Gilda Radner. I adored her.
I am sure you make a difference with your deeds, etc. Best wishes for a really good year! Hugs!
