On September 22, the world stood still for this little ghetto kitteh. My kitten heart sunk as I read these words on my Twitter feed: "Buzz Lucas left for RB last night. Too many miles on his 18 yr body." I have since turned my parlor into a shrine for him.
I started on Twitter and Buzz quickly became my one true love. He was handsome, brave and kind and, like me, loved baseball. He lived in California and loved the Angels so we'd teleport back and forth when our two teams played each other. We had so much fun. We even went to the victory parades together!
Buzzy survived both cancer and a coyote attack that ripped his head open. He was a fighter who thought he was too old for me. His last tweet to me: "I was too old for you in your world but we shall meet again one day and pick up where we left off. I'll be looking good again."
When we first met, I was really young. When I saw other anipals pairing off, I wanted that too. Buzz had other ideas. He taught me so much about love and the biggest lesson was that anipals are not meant to get married. We're free spirits who shouldn't have human traits thrust upon us to please our humans. Our friendship was all I needed.
I hurt all over so being the artist I am, I picked up a paintbrush and put my pain to work. These are for you, my Buzzy. All my condolences to his human and sisfur Lizzie.
I started with a simple color drawing of the picture his human tweeted to me after he went to the RB. You can see how ruggedly handsome he was.
Then I painted a watercolor. I hope I did him justice.
I also did a watercolor of one of my favorite photos of him.
Finally, since he's at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for me, I did a rainbow painting.
Buzz, you ARE an Angel now and have the wings and halo to prove it. Godspeed. I'll love you forever and I'll never forget you until we meet again. Thank you for letting me share your life.
When our furrends go to the Rainbow Bridge, they get added into the #AngelGang Remembrance Wall by the human of Jin Jin Doggy. There are far too many on that wall. You can see the Admiral, CJ Legend Kitty, Pepi Smart Dog, Dash Kitten, Cokie among the cast of almost 100. Buzzy is almost right on the center of the fifth row next to his dear furrend Sid and catty corner above Pepi. This is the most precious artwork of the week. I left it original size so you can see all our departed furrends if you biggify it.
I hope you didn't mind my paying tribute to the cat who made Twitter a enjoyable place for me and all those he knew. I'm sure he's barktending at the RB so I'll raise a Niptini to my Buzzy.
Thanks to Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty for hosting the Caturday Art Blog Hop so I can mess around with Photoshop and all the cool online apps that are so easy a cat can use them. If you'd like to see more Caturday art, click the link and check out the other kitties showing their artwork this week. You'll find all kinds of art styles and one of them is bound to catch your [cat] fancy.

I have to say you are a very artful cat :) Love that!
ReplyDeleteDear CK, your gallery is AMAZING! Buzz is beautiful in every single color, although I love his plain, birth-given shiny buff colored coat :-)
ReplyDeleteIf Buzz is able to see this at ORB he will be stunned, as he always was, that such a beautiful, spunky, smart, street smart (occasionally smart ass), sassy pants feline would be interested in him. He was, as you say, a courageous, strong boy driven to stay alive. Even in his last days he pushed and pushed to keep going. He would want you to remember him as a strapping 20 lbs boy who who maintained his earned independence to the end who overcame difficulty as simply (almost) as grooming his lovely fur. He loved humans, canines and felines alike and brought pleasure to all. Remember I found him on a roof top across the street when he was about 1. He was well mannered and elegant from the beginning. I still wonder where he received his early training.
Buzz and I have had many conversations about ORB and I cannot wait to see one day him with health restored. His love and affection for you always lies deep within in his sweet heart. Your dear tribute is so very precious to me as I know it is to Buzz. THANK YOU dear sweet girl. You are deep within my heart as well.
Laurie (Buzz's Human)
