The Olympus Captures My True Stunningness

The Olympus Captures My True Stunningness

It's not Friday but what the hey. It's still time to give the randomizer a workout. There are 71 fotos in the cue. Which ones will come out this week? Will it be yours? Turns out today's crop are all fairly recent—at least to TW they're fairly recent. For me, they were taken decades ago.

The first two were taken on the Olympus, which is an older camera that takes far better fotos. As par for TW, she likes using the Canon even though she places the blame on The Cat when the fotos come out blurry or grainy. Something about me not liking the Olympus cos it's got a red light that shines before the foto is taken. She says I run sometimes when I hear her turn it on. I think she's just jealous of my stunningness so she doesn't want to take good fotos. Enough about that. Let's get to the fotos.

This foto is part of a l-o-n-g shoot one Sunday morning on my Pop's bed. We have the best light in there so TW doesn't need to use flash. I think she was trying to capture another foto to send to Glogirly for my blog header. I think my ears look too big. They're almost the size of Pop's ears. It's almost embarrassing. Since there was no flash, I sat patiently for her until she was through.

I love Pop's old bamboo blankie. It was new a few years ago but now it's worn and full of snags which TW blames on my claws. I love to lay here while TW is at the computer. It's at the foot of the bed so I can watch to see that she types what I dictate and doesn't try to push her own agenda on my blog. You can see the empty computer chair right behind me. The cat quilt on the bottom left was made by the fabulous Dana Pixie, who's the keeper of the #pawcircle on Twitter. After TW took a couple of fotos, I moved over to lay on the quilt which has woofies and cats on it. It was a Nipclub prize so Dana wasn't sure who would win it. I'm glad I won it! Now I wish Pop would take it out of hiding.

So there I was; working my claws on my old ratty scratcher when I got my dew claw stuck. Did TW rush to help me? No, she rushed to get the flashy box to take fotos of my agony. TW sees it a whole other way. She had already taken one foto where I was working my claws when I turned away from the cheap Canon camera cos of the flash. She claims my claw was not caught but I know better. You can see me standing on my two hind legs trying to free myself. I couldn't get away from her fast enough. She's always trying to get a good foto of me working my claws and this isn't it.

This week out schedule was a bit different cos TW was busy last weekend or so she claims. She never should be too busy to attend to The Cat's needs. At least she didn't blame the dizzies. Hopefully I'll be back in my studio Saturday cos I've been working on some special pieces.

I told you about TW's refusal to use the good camera on me, what does your human use to fotograph you?

  1. I don't think your ears look too big in the first photo, CK! But then, I come from a family that prizes big ears.

  3. I love the first one ! Mom love Olympus a lot. And one Christmas day, Daddy played basket ball with my Sis and her cousins. Mom was a photographer. She kept taking family photos and then Daddy throws the ball to her. Hit her head and she dropped Olympus. Then she got another Olympus for christmas present from dad but it's not like the old one which is cheaper. This day, Mom uses Sony for general and she use Olympus for zoom

    Happy Thursday Miss CK !

  4. These are all great photos, CK. But, that first one, talk about stunning! And I'm glad you have a good spot from which to keep an eye on TW while she works on your blog. You really have to keep those humans in line!

  5. Can't believe TW took picture instead of rescuing you when your claw stuck! Humans do see things in different way. Hahaha. If I remember correctly, the first camera I owned was Olympus :-)

  7. Oh CK, we don;t have an Olympus, but one of our cameras has dat red blink and also makes a noise when it turns on. Like you, we weren't fond of dat. Mommy learned dat ifin she turned da "red eye" flash thing off and either doesn't use da flash or just uses it without da red eey thing, da red light don't blink. And she also turned off da camera sounds and now we don't hear it come on. Tell TW to check da Olympus settings, she can purrobably change those. As fur our cameras, we have 2 cheap point and shoots. Altho' we are grateful fur them, cuz we had a dirt cheap point and shoot when we furst got started and it broke on Christmas dat. So a couple of our facebook awnties bought us cameras. We have a Canon and a Nikon. Da Nikon takes better fotos is general, but da Canon does better in total darkness. And yeah, mommy had to change da settings on both. We think all these fotos are pawsum as always. You don't even need editin'.

PeeEss: Mommy read your comment 'bout da Aldi's. Ardmore has one (45 miles away) and mommy will sometimes stop in there ifin she has to go to town or take us to da VET or somethin'. Nopawdy in our house eats fish, so we don't really know what a can of tuna costs, but mommy cried when she read what you could buy milk fur. We thought NY was posed to be 'spensive. Even at da Aldi's after taxes, milk be $4.00. They do have it on sale right now at a few stores fur $3.50, but again, after taxes it'll be close to $4.00. But fanks fur da suggestion.

    1. Unfortunately, the Olympus doesn't have an option to turn the red thing off. TW will put her hand over it but it measures distance so the shots aren't as good.

    2. Sorry CK, we were sure all cameras would let you turn off da red eye reduction and stop dat red flash. We don't know anythin' 'bout da distance thing tho'. Dat's crazy. Wonder ifin a piece of tape or tissue paper would allow it to still measure distance without bein' so bright? Hope ya'll can figger somethin' out. Ya'll are good at dat. Much better than us. Ya'll are da ones we turn too when we have questions. Good luck.

  9. Mom usually just grabs the photo so she doesn't miss a shot by s moving while she goes to get a camera. Our Dad has several cameras, and uses whichever is nearby. We give the first two photos A+'s XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  13. Yes, we think TW takes fabulous photos too, but maybe don't tell her that cuz sometimes it goes to the human's head!!! I love the photo you used first in this blog. It shows the real stunning you. We used a Nikon, which is a couple steps up from a simple point and shoot. We like it because it's still easy to use and helps keep the photo from being blurry if the peeps get a little shaky. M bought it about 2+ years ago and really likes it.

  14. We love that first foto of you, CK. Our mom bought a Canon, not a fancy DSL one, but one that's a step up from a point and shoot and she has yet to figure out how to use it right so if she gets a good shot of us, it's purely by luck.

  15. Great photos, especially the first one. Most of the time I use my iPhone but I'll occasionally pull out the Nikon. But they can't be moving for that one. Or, I just need to learn how to use it! I have it permanently set to sports mode.

  16. Since when can any camera capture your stunningness? Hmmm? Not sure that's possible and that's a crying shame.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I used the iPad and Kindle Fire mostly because that's what I always have nearby! Do you have a little notch in your left ear, CK? Who did that to you???

  18. You are most assuredly stunning, CK. And no, your ears don't look too big to us!
