TW is a worry wart. She isn't happy unless she's worrying about something: their finances, fire, the election, her health, Pop's health, my health and the list goes on and on. Sunday night it was her turn to once again worry about my health.
She came in from being on the computer and I was laying on the pink perch in the dim light of the table lamp. She petted me a few times and I looked up eager to take a chunk out of her hand. She noticed that even though I gazed toward the lamp, my eyes didn't dilate. "Oh no! CK is going blind! Her eyes didn't react to the dim, dim light!"

You are crazy, woman! |
Once we settled into bed, there was the problem of my "snoring." TW doesn't believe cats snore and instead thinks I'm having breathing problems because of my asthma. She stayed awake to comfort me in my imagined time of need. I eat that attention up so I kept snoring and moaning softly. She kept worrying. Finally she told me she had to get some sleep. Can you believe she left me to die so she could sleep?? Heh heh.
"OMG, CK isn't as active as she was a year ago! She hasn't run around the condo all week! Does she have arthur-itis? What's wrong with her? AHHHH, she's got some acne on her chin! Should I put Vetericyn or coconut oil on it and will she let me? Worry, worry. Fret fret." Take a chill pill, Woman!
TW has never been a hypochondriac before; in fact, she's always overlooked signs and symptoms. Now she's making up for lost time. So far I've been lucky and I haven't been hauled off to the stabby place to satisfy her worries mainly because we have no money and Pop is the voice of reason. Pop has to observe that I'm really sick to justify stuffing me in the PTU.
Does your human worry about every little thing you do?
BULLETIN JUST IN!! TW saw me on in the box at least twice before I poo'ed! Call the Marines! Call the ER! She's already wondering how to treat my "constipation." Oh please! I've been going on a regular schedule for at least the past six years.
Oh this is SO Mommy!!! She over analyzes every little thing I do, then says past experience has given her reason to be a worry wart. I hope you escape a vet visit, CK! -- Mudpie
ReplyDeleteTW has never slept in a bed with Boodie, clearly, because she DOES snore!
ReplyDeleteJeez, she and my Human? Separated at birth. I can't BELIEVE the stuff she worries about.
ReplyDeleteMy human is a big time worrier about everything and anything. Yesterday she left for work and got all the way to the train and then became convinced that she hadn't taken off my leash and that it would get caught on something and I would be injured or choke. She then flew home to check and guess what, my leash was off and I was asleep. This kind of thing happens all the time in our house!
ReplyDeleteHahaha...I can totally relate because I'm a big worrier, too.
ReplyDeleteHow many times I apologized my boys for taking them to vet for nothing...!
I worry more now than ever before and I think it have something to do with aging...mine, not the kitties!
ReplyDeleteMom is pretty good about not worrying, we are lucky.
ReplyDeleteI am just as much of a worry wart as TW is. The situation with Cinco's passing made me question my judgement a lot. Every time something happens with Manna or Dexter, I panic until I can rationally explain it. My husband tells me that I need to take a nap whenever I get that way. Give TW some purrs, I'm sure it is just because she loves you so much.
ReplyDelete-Purrs from your friends at www.PlayfulKitty.net
MOL Oh CK, we feel fur ya' Mommy is da biggest worryer ever. Me swears, ifin money was no object, we'd have a purrsonal VER on call. Kittens, mommy would purrobably move 'em into da house. Just so CK knows, kitties do snore. We're glad you're doin' okay, but we'll say some extra purrayers anyhow. Dat's what mommy does fur us.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'

CK our Mom is a pretty good worrier too. Annabelle has had her stomach woe this week and she's been all a flitter about that (she's much better today -- thank you no need for stupid trips to see the Vet) and she's has a major worry about Hurricane Matthew. We know we'll be without power for awhile.
ReplyDeleteC.K., it's all because she loves you so, so much. With eight of us, sometimes Mom misses symptoms, and that gets her all worked up. We sure hope everything TW is imagining is only in her imagination. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty may, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth ad Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteMy mum is the same. I am limping a bit and she thinks my leg is going to drop off! My vet has been on holiday, and you can bet your life she will be on the phone first thing in the morning when he gets back.
ReplyDeleteSo she thinks cats don't snore. She should have heard Eric! I am sure that he and my dad had contests to see who could snore the loudest.
MOL...your mom is almost worse than our mom. Our mom frets and fusses but dad usually puts her straight. Usually, sometimes it doesn't matter what he says, she's bound and determined a problem exists.

CK, our mom worries about us all the time. It's a real pain in the you-know-what. And, by the way, tell TW that cats do snore...I know I do. ~Wally
ReplyDeleteThat's what us cat moms do, CK. We worry. Just roll with it. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy old gray Buckshot (RIP) snored so loudly that I had to do the trick you do with a human snorer of adjusting your breathing to match the snorer's. Hard to do with a different species with a different respiration rate. (sigh)
ReplyDeleteYep, all that sounds about right CK and pretty much the same here. You mean that's not normal?!?!
ReplyDeleteSorry, that is what moms do- you are a lucky kitty.
ReplyDeleteYup. That sounds like our Mom and Dad, too, CK. Well, maybe not quite as much, but pretty close. ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs and headbonks,
Gracie and Zoe
OMC CK!!!!! I feel your pain!!! My Mom must look at my head 50 times a day!!! All I hear is "Cody, let me see your head!" (She is constantly obsessed that I am going to have an allergy flare up!), she is obsessed with my heart rate (because of Grandpa Bobo), and she also has a "thing" about my snoring (I don't have asthma).......I TW and my Mom are cut from the same mold!!! Love, Cody catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteBFGF you know Mom L is our resident worrier. Dad P Is the voice of reason, at least he thinks he is. I have escaped a visit to the vet cuz I threw up four tiimes in eight days, but Dad P is in his "wait and see" mode. Paws crossed I keep my meals down for the next three days while they are gone and my new pet nanny is staying for the first time.
ReplyDeleteDoes Mommy worry? Are you kidding? She talks to us like we're going to answer her: "what's wrong?", "did you poop?", "why didn't you eat your breakfast?" The things we have to put up with.
ReplyDeleteSelf-admitted worrier here. I am constantly following my critters around with frowns on my face, looking for symptoms of illness. I tell myself it's because I care oh-so very much!
