Deserted & Desperate: A Story of Survival

Deserted & Desperate: A Story of Survival

I'm gonna tell you a true story that will send shivers down your spine. This could happen to you too someday.

Sunday started out much like any other Sunday except the peeps got up a few hours earlier. No, wait, scratch that and let me begin again. Caturday night I didn't play or run much. In fact, I got into bed before TW. Caturday had been a "fast" day. I have binge and fast days and I'd hardly eaten anything: left my breakfast (gut rot), licked lunch (more gut rot) a few times and didn't even eat all my FF grilled tuna at night.

For breakfast Sunday, TW thought she'd give me something I really liked since I should be hungry. I lapped at it awhile and walked away. My usual routine on those Spring mornings when it gets light early is to jump on the windowsill after breakfast to watch some Burd-tv. Not this Sunday. I headed back to bed. Then I did something which worried TW even more. I drank water. Twice. Out of a cup by the bed.

It was all part of my plan. I knew something was up. I'd heard TW and Pop plotting something for Sunday. I wanted to worry TW so much that she couldn't leave the house. I wanted her in a panic so that she couldn't leave my side. I thought it worked. She fretted as she lay awake. Should she stay or should she go? My evil plan was in motion.

Deserted & Desperate: A Story of Survival
Oh TW, I don't feel well this morning. Don't leave me.

Once Pop got up, I acted more normal so he wouldn't suspect anything. The plan was for TW to tell him their plans were off and for her to get into big trouble. But something went terribly wrong. They ate breakfast and started preparing their stuff to go out.

Tickets—check. Bus fare—check. Bottled water—check. Kettle corn—check.

11:15 a.m. they left this little kitteh all alone to fend for myself. Might I add they left me with only a few crumbs of remaining breakfast and about 10 pieces of leftover kibble. They didn't return until 5:30 a couple of weeks later. How was I to survive without food?? No lunch or no dinner. My thoughts turned toward my stomach which was loudly growling at me. The first few days I scrounged around the floor looking for crumbs since TW hadn't vacuumed. Then I realized to survive, I'd have to hunt my prey.

Deserted & Desperate: A Story of Survival

My eyes feasted on Bootsy. Though just a calf, I knew the veal would be tender and taste good. I needed protein to survive. I'd never had veal but was drooling as I looked at him. I knew though I was weak, I could still catch him and catch him I did. As I was about to slice some delectable meat off his bones, I heard a key in the door. A rescue team had found me! Eureka! The peeps were finally home. I had been saved. Oh, and the Yankees won—as if I care.

  2. Your humans bring their own Kettle Corn to the game? That never even occurred to my human! But I'm getting off topic here - they should not have left you in the first place!

  6. So did they kill the fatted calf for you when they returned? The least they could have done. :)

  10. CK, no kitty should have to go through what you went through!! This is an outrage!! Surely there are laws? I think you should talk to your union rep!! I am sure the law is on your side!! If not, then the usual scratchy bitey punishment might suffice! xxx

PeeEss you are looking particularly fetching in that first pic ;)

  12. You poor, poor thing. I sure hope you're feeling better today and that your peeps feel very guilty about what they did! (Hey, one of my co-workers went to the Yankees game on Saturday! They lost that day...)

  16. Oh cwap!! I'd be out of my mind with worry about my next meal. Mom has a stuffed big horn sheep...he's a good size too. Guess Kali and I could feast on this guy for awhile. I don't know how filling stuffing is though....guess I'd find out in a big hurry.

  19. So you were only pretending not to feel well? Guess TW is on to your tricks, and you will have to come up with another plan for the next time you want your peeps to stay home. So happy you survived your ordeal and didn't have to resort to eating Bootsy. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
