A Quaff of the Waff
What is that on the table? I never saw that can before. Whoa! that looks like my pal Waffles Too from Glogirly on the can. It must be a holiday! Wonder if he had any of the turkey …
I know everyone had their "quaff of the Waff”—Pop coined that phrase—years ago but my peeps just aren’t drinkers anymore. After a local search proved fruitless, TW finally found a four-pack at a store across the street from the Nashville hotel when she was attending Blogpaws. It’s been sitting in the fridge since June—I hope Waff didn’t get cold—but they thought it would be a nice drink to have with the mince and homemade pumpkin pies.
The consensus? Pop thought it was too bitter. TW said she’s had better beer in her life but she’s definitely saving the cans. Our neighbor who throws out the most unbelievable beer cans and cases ain’t gonna see this collector’s item. Don’t want to make Sweet Baby Jesus jealous. Heh.
The only one who didn’t think our Thanksgiving was a success was The Cat. Oh sure I loved the turkey and ate more than I should have but there were no disasters for me to write about. The pies didn’t burn, the turkey didn’t explode, no cleanups in aisle two. Of course, there was that little incident with the exasperated milk. TW will never let me have that again. Heh heh! How was your Thanksgiving?

Oh darling CK, it's been soooooo long, my sweet little baboo! The Human *finally* came home after having her way with all THREE of the Oregon kitty cousins. She expects me to forgive both her abandonment AND her adulterous frivolity with *other* ManCats--and a LadyCat too. What an outrage. I am still reeling.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you'd like to come over later and curl up on your blue pillow and meow softly in my troubled ear?
I got some turkey, so I wuz happy. I tried to launch myself into a pie, but got stopped and locked up.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a couple of cans of the Waffles drink hidden away - my human liked it when she tried it, but she usually drinks champagne or sparkling wine because it is lower in calories. She says she will break open a can next time she is doing an alcohol calorie splurge.
ReplyDeleteConcatulation for your Human ! Now me guess your human is better than my mom...My mom still burn pots & couldn't finish what she cooked for herself...MOL
ReplyDeleteThat Waffles can is a keeper though CK!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Mom looked for those cans everywhere and couldn't find them. She is not a drinker, either. She was just going to keep the full cans because they have Waffles on them, MOL!!!
ReplyDeleteOur Thanksgiving was pretty good. We got to have some turkey and whipped cream - yum!
Mom looked for both the can's on which Waffles was pictured but could never find any in our area. She dies to like beer and all, and probably wouldn't like this either. So happy you had a great thanksgiving with no disasters. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo,
ReplyDeleteMommy didn't cook this year (well, she never does on Thanksgiving) and she didn't bring us home any turkey! Not a crumb. Nerve. We didn't know about those cans! We hope your belly is better.
ReplyDeleteMy mom has looked for those cans here but couldn't find any...... But she did bring home some turkey for me after leaving me home alone for hours!

ReplyDeleteHow COOL that you found a four-pack! We don't think there are any more out there. We've got a four-pack too that we'll be saving until the apocalypse. HA!

ReplyDeleteHey, CK! You better let Waffles outta that can!! MOL!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the cans were better than the beer! We had a quiet Thanksgiving, but nice. My assistant didn't do the cooking so that means no burned food. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy dad has drank a few beers in his day or was that yesterday? And we've had some Mike's hard beverages too, but we've never seen the Waffles can. Thanksgiving was uneventful. Mom hasn't caught a turkey on fire in years!
