With a Little Help From The Cat

For your reading pleasure, I’m posting a real live convo TW and I had several weeks ago. I know there are kittens who may see this, so I’m editing out my TW’s bad language. You’d think she grew up on the street.

TW: CK, I just took those sheets out of the dryer. What …
CK: Is that why they’re so nice and warm. Thank you. I’m not gonna ax you why they’re not folded and put away. I think we both know the answer.

TW: Let me know when you feel like getting up so I can make the bed.
CK: Did I tell you you couldn’t make the bed? Tell you what, Woman, I’m here to help you make it. I know I said you didn’t deserve my help but I’m giving you one last chance.
TW: You look so comfortable, I don’t want to disturb you.
CK: Smart choice. *what she really means is she doesn’t want to get bitten*

Does your human dare make the bed when you’ve staked claims to it first?

  1. Aw CK you look so cute!! Callie doesn't really come in my room because it's inhabited by the dog usually. Shiner however is a pain in the butt to move when I need to make the bed.

  2. My human rarely makes the bed! She read somewhere that made beds are breeding grounds for bedbugs, so she uses that as an excuse to never make the bed again unless there is company. Her boyfriend, OTOH, always makes the bed! So every day, the bed is half made, pretty much right down the middle.

  3. I like it when they are warm too CK, I really get sheet faced!

  4. Mes actually likes to lay on the Mom's bed when it's stripped. Hers always has the nerve to move me out of the way so hers can put the sheets back on. How rude is that?

  5. That is relling Her CK. When I am laying in bed, I don't want no human coming al,one and disruebing my peace and quiet either. They can simply wait.

  6. Our humans just go ahead and make the bed over the top of us. They figure if we don't like it, we will escape before the sheets are totally tucked in, and 98 purrcent of the time we do. You look very comfy C.K., and that color is excellent with your furs. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  7. Is m glad the bad words were edited out as I have delicat ears! MOL The Staff always leaves the bed unmade until I've finished with it! She's thoughtful like that!!! ;)

  8. I hate to admit it but I no longer can leap gracefully up on my humans' bed. I've got so many nice spots around the house that are more "accessible" to man of my age and arthritic condition! Mom is glad I no longer "help" (cough cough) her with the bed changing. I used to prolong that whole process by hours because I insisted on staying PUT when I was there no matter what was going on around me!

  9. Mum makes the bed around and over the top of us, and comes later to finish her work. Purrs

  10. My mum has a duvet on the bed so she carefully straightens the bottom sheet and plumps the pillows without disturbing me. Then she pulls the duvet over the top of me. It is very cosy.

  15. Mudpie actually hasn't been interested in the "big girl" bed yet! She much prefers sleeping in her kitty beds.

  19. The humans DO try to make the bed when we stake our claim. Though, we do admit that we always claim the bed as soon as we notice that it's about to be made...

  23. Why hello darling--nothing I like more than freshly laundered warm sheets--unless it's freshly laundered warm sheets with YOU sleeping on them. XOXOXOX

  24. hahaha...CK, you are a hoot and my hero! The things from the dryer usually get folded right away here....specially if dad is looking after the laundry this week. Making up the bed is my forte. I love this job....running feverishly from corner to corner attacking mom's paws as she tries to tuck the sheets in. Do you know mom has taken to changing the bed wearing gardening clother. You're right...she looks really dumb wearing gloves to change the bed. hahaha
