Last Thursday cats all over the universe celebrated National Cat Day with treats, good noms and new toys. What did this kitteh get? Squat, that’s what.
I axed for Chinese takeout for dinner. Did the peeps honor my request? No. They got a chicken parm sammich. Yuck. Human gut rot! Totally inedible for this cat. I axed for new toys, a new scratching post or a new cat tree cos goodness knows I don’t have enough. What do you suppose showed up on our doorstep?
It was a box from Chewy containing … wait for it … a brand new … litter box. What the Hell-o Kitty? I have two perfectly usable boxes—the green box and the blue box.
My Caddie needs a fill up unless TW is too cheap to add more litter. |
TW said she was just following some advice I’d given on this blog several years back when I wrote about Precious Cat litter. I wrote that litter boxes must be roomy enough for your cat to turn around easily and they should be replaced frequently. Ever since TW bought my green and blue boxes, she thought they were too small but I liked them and I used them faithfully.
As soon as she brought this new one upstairs, I climbed into the pan and started scraping. She was amazed I knew what it was for even before she filled it up and put it together. Obviously, she thought I was as dumb as she is. Get with the program, TW. I’m a cat. I’m smart.
It dwarfs over my green box! |
I now have the Cadillac or should I say CATillac of litter boxes. This sucker is twice as big as my old boxes and it’s only a LARGE. I can only imagine how big their jumbo box is. I could get lost in this box. Being the worry wart and neurotic TW is, she’s afraid it’s too high and when I get older, I won’t be able to easily climb into it. Sounds like she’s not planning on replacing this box for awhile.
Of course it’s not as cute or pretty as the green box it replaced, which TW illegally put into the Refuse Room. (Can you believe we’re not allowed to put anything into the Refuse Room anymore cos the porters are too lazy to clean it out? That’s another blog post for another day.) Anyhoo, I still have the Blue Box since the new box would never fit into Pop’s bathroom.
What did you get for National Cat Day? Don’t worry, you won’t make me feel bad that I got the cat equivalent of new underwear. Did I neglect to mention that I got litter too?
Molly Mew got to go outside with ma. That means that ma was watching her like a hawk and she had to be a good girl. Ma also brought the yellow kitty INSIDE to say hi to dad. I am really surprised that she didn't get a big fat hairball in her bed that night cause we had one UNHAPPY kitteh!
ReplyDeleteFYI- that cat underoos looks pretty gewd to me. I bet I could poop in it on rainy nights. BOL!
You got something better than me, CK! I just got some cat food samples (to use as treats) and a couple of mousie toys. I DID get to go on a fun excursion to get them, though!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really nice box, CK! When some of our previous generation of cats became older and geriatric, the head peep used a block of wood outside to help them step in. A brick probably would have been better and easier to clean. Anyhow, it was easier to get out than in since the litter raised the floor level inside, but that helped them use some of the high-lipped litterboxes longer. So tell TW not to worry. Besides, you're not old, you're spry!
ReplyDeleteThat looks a nice litter box! It is really huge. And of course you knew what it was even before TW put it together...kitties are smarter than humans think!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool box CK and I'm glad you took a fancy to it. We didn't get anything special for National Cat Day but we do have all we need.
ReplyDeleteCK, I only got treats and hugs (which, of course, are priceless). I love that you always make mom chuckle.
ReplyDeleteI only got hugs and kisses for Cat Day - what I get every day. Oh, and some treats. I suppose that's good enough. I would have liked a new box or paper bag though :)

That is a big box, CK! The Mom had a really hard time finding a box low enough for Jewel to use when she lived with us. We found a box with a ramp going into it, but it was mega-expensive. Tell TW to save some green papers for something like that for when you need it. :) We hope you like your new box.
ReplyDeleteThe most impawtant thing CK is do you like the new box? Mom is litter box shopping right now!
ReplyDeleteIn my house it's cat's day every day, lol !
ReplyDeleteCK! We love that first picture of you!!!
ReplyDeletePurrz!

PS That's not MY kind of prezzie either!
My cats are jealous, they would love that.
ReplyDeleteYou are so....YOU. I like that. We haven't had our kitty litter box replaced for many years....it is still in pretty good shape. No deep scratches...some scratches but mom bleaches out the box occasionally. No cracks or other ugly looking marks on our twilly. Does it still need to be changed for a newer box?
ReplyDeleteShoko
That truly is a huge box. We don't like ones with covers. All our boxes are super big! Enjoy that gift. We just got some extra treats. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteAt least you got something. All I got was desertion! My mum did get me a new scratcher before they went off gallivanting without me, but it was a horizontal one and she knows if I want a horizontal scratch I am only going to use the carpet. I have my scratchy posts too, but they are best for having a good stretch.
ReplyDeleteCK......we got one oh thoz exercizes peepulz due at de gym

We got nothin', CK, not even a new litterbox. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteWow CK, that litter box is so big it would not even fit in my house on wheels. Enjoy your big litter box. No gifts at this house. The humans say that take care of all my needs and take me out to play so I do not need any special treats. Satisfied kitty!
ReplyDeleteI.Got.Nuffing. Zero. Zilch. Nada, Zippo. Diidly-squat.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's the way it is.
You mean there was a National Cat Day where I was supposed to get gifts, and mom didn't tell me about it?!
ReplyDeleteI have a huge litter box (uncovered) and it's nice to be unrestrained while taking care of business. I hope you continue to enjoy your new litter box.
WOWZA......that is a jumbo box even though apparently as you say there's an EVEN BIGGER one available! Your humans must think you need a lot of spots to do your business in and a lot of room to do it in. Fill 'em up CK!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
p.s. I didn't even get a litter box for National Cat Day......I got ZIP
That's a pawsome box!! Ours are vented to the outside....Mom says it's like litter boxes on life support!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Well, I just had my gotcha day forgot!! It's not looking good for national cat day from where I'm standing!!
ReplyDeleteWell we have box envy personally! We got chicken for NCD, not bad but not anything NEW....
ReplyDeleteWell we'd have been a lot happier with a litterbox for National Cat Day than what WE got. Can you say VET VISIT??? That's right. Both of us. And they had the nerve to give me an orange bandage.
ReplyDeleteI say enjoy the litter box. Climb in, turn around and let the litter fly!
