Wednesday Word—Bonbons

In November we received a Hauspanther email about an Etsy store called CatnipConfections that not only made cat toys out of catnip but also honeysuckle, valerian and silvervine. Seeing how I love my valerian cow and my addiction to silvervine, TW decided to place an order. She also ordered Christmas presents for my cousins BB, Isabel, Makena, Katie, Jinx and Nikki. Even though Debbie at CatnipConfections was busy, she made sure my order arrived on time.

TW had to open the box early since she was seeing Aunt Pauline and needed to wrap the gifts. I’m sorry TW didn’t get a photo of how cute everything was presented. The peanuts were in a paper bag like the peanuts you’d buy at the ball game and the candies were in a candy-shaped gift box that was too pretty to wrap.

I wanted a piece of the action. To quiet me, she tossed me the business card. She knew she had a winner when I started rubbing all over that card which was covered with real smushed-up catnip! Cut to Christmas morning. You’ve seen the video of me attacking Pop to get at my bonbons.

Let me tell you a bit about CatnipConfections. Each scrumptious piece is hand crocheted from Foxfire organic cotton or wool yarn without dyes so it’s completely safe for your cat. Of course you should supervise to make sure the toy isn’t destroyed. Since all confections are made to order, you can choose what flavor you’d like: catnip, valerian, honeysuckle wood, silvervine or even just organic cotton. They make more than just candy. You can also get sandwich cookies, pretzels, magic mushrooms and even catnip mice for the traditionalists.

Where did it go?
The description on the Etsy store says "These plump bonbons can be rolled across the floor for chasing, held between the paws for face rubbing, or slept on as little pillows for sweetly scented dreams.” As you’ll see, I did all three in the video below. You can also view the video on YouTube. Notice how I pick each candy out one at a time and savor it. The valerian was the first one out of the box but I don’t play favorites.

I bet you’re wondering how my cousins liked their candy. Here’s a quote from my Aunt Pauline that I’m sure she won’t mind my using: "My three are "nuts" over the peanuts. I gave them out today, and they've been batted about, chewed, and rubbed against ever since. Cathy really knows what other felines like!” I do and so does Debbie at CatnipConfections.

Over in Ringworm, NJ, Makena speaking for her brofur and sisfur declared the catnip/honeysuckle candies were well worth not having her humans around for a day. I’m gonna have to have TW order  those candies for me.

Two weeks later, I’m still in love with my bonbons and the nip scented business card. My peeps never ration their sweets' but TW rations my bonbons. She said we should keep them in the box so they stay fresh. Bah humbug!

I went crazypants after these photos were taken yesterday.

I got some exciting news I can hardly contain. CatnipConfections will be “catering” my Gotcha Day pawty on January 29th and sponsoring a pawsome giveaway! That’s all I’m saying for now. Many thanks to Debbie for her generosity. However, you shouldn’t wait until then to head over to her Etsy store and purchase some pawsome confections of your own.

Disclaimer: all the CatnipConfections mentioned in this post were paid for by us. CatnipConfections will be sponsoring a giveaway in the future but that didn’t influence my opinion of their product. Videos don’t lie and neither does this little ghetto kitteh.
