Squeezing Out Sparks

The title of today's post is the title of TW's favorite Graham Parker CD. So why am I telling you this? Cos this week's Saturday PhotoHunt theme is Spark, which my dictionary confirms to me means to start a fire. Example would be HHGutt sparked the 5 alarm fire. Back in January 2012, we had a huge fire around this hood. An entire city block burned practically to the ground. You can bet the sparks were flying! A couple of days after the blaze, in the bitter Januray cold, TW and I went to investigate and take some photos. What we found was appalling. Do you see him? That's HHGutt on the roof checking out his handiwork. OK, I can only presume it was his work but why else would he be hanging around? Our original post about the fire can be found here.

  1. Fire sparks are the last thing I was gonna post about - we live in a fire hazard zone and we are having a particularly dry and windy weekend! Definitely don't want to put that energy out there, MOL!

  9. All it takes is ONE spark, HHGutt! The damage to the building looks pretty extensive.

  14. Sweetie, never fear, I make Mommy read your blog ALL THE TIME!
    Don't you give up!!!!
Catitude has been around for several years, I've only been here almost a year. You definitely have more followers and a lot more "posh" than I do!
A lot of older bloggers have moved on. A lot are on Facebook which Mommy isn't really on much, and other social sites which we don't even try to be on. Some kitties are OTRB (like brandi). And they don't blog.
We try very hard to encourage new bloggers. So we read a lot of blogs. Sometimes they stay. Other times they just move on. But we try maybe too hard to comment and encourage. And maybe we should be working just as hard to post and make more friends that way.
    Anyhow, you are definitely loved.

  16. Mom and her dad lived in a row house once upon a time. They were all full sized 4 bedroom homes, an upstairs and downstairs, attic and basement, LR, DR, 2 baths, large kitchen but all connected at the roofline. Us kids up and down in the 8 homes would go thru the attics and visit one another. Those were the days when you weren't worried about being murdered in your beds or thieves.

  19. That Gutt is something else alright. That hummer should take him back to Mexico...(of course he is a convenient patsy when needed so this is something to consider, CK.)

  20. Hello darling! Sorry I've been scarce--the hot weather makes me feel kinda miserable and the Human too and then she worries about me and I get sulky and then we is all unhappy around here. It's SUPPOSED to cool off some this week, so we hope things will start looking up and returning to normal! XOXOXOXO

  21. We have serious hazard warning here over summer. Fires banned, no burning of farm stuff. Fires are scary and dangerous!
