Feral Friday (Kitchen Counter Cutie)

Hola kitties! How was your week. Yesterday we had intruders. About a year and a half ago, we were supposed to get new windows. At that time, the peeps had to remove all their clutter and furniture from around the windows so they could be measured. The powers that be felt the need to remeasure  all those windows which meant once again rearranging all the furniture. I suppose now we'll wait another year and a half to get the new windows. As much as TW is looking forward to getting new windows that will keep drafts out, we're both not looking forward to the inconvenience. The workers and noise will no doubt scare me and the peeps are afraid if they remove all the windows at once, I'll make a run for it—out the window.

Oops, it's time to begin the business at hand, which is the Flashback Friday Foto Frenzy. I used blue as my color since today is Dress in Blue Day and I don't wear clothes. I've often told you that I don't jump on the counter cos there's no room. Apparently, that wasn't always the case. What's the chance of two fotos coming up randomly the exact same week of me eating on the counter?

Feral Friday (Kitchen Counter Cutie)

I don't know why TW was focused on the faucets but apparently she was in this March 2010 foto #917. They're in focus and I'm not. I also don't know why I was eating my wet food on the counter. I guess since there were only two fotos that we'll never know. I do know that this certainly is a blurry foto fail. The peeps broke this dish which was my favorite. Bummer. In fact, she broke one of my dishes just today. Thanks to Miss Ellen at 15 and Meowing for choosing it.

Aunt Pauline opted to see #5999 from November 2015 which is a much better foto. When I won't eat my wet food and keep going to my kibble, TW picks it up and puts in on the counter since I don't jump on the counter. I finally had enough of her little game and jumped up to eat the kibble. I'm shooting TW a look of disgust. Instead of yelling at me, she took half a dozen fotos, including some where I'm walking through the kitchen sink. Some kitties love to sit in the sink but I'm not one of them. I'd rather sit in the tub. In case you're wondering, when we used fotos from this shoot in a post, we cropped/edited out the pasta sauce. BTW, we no longer use that gravy.*

*Yeah, in NJ we call tomato sauce gravy. Do you call it sauce or gravy in your neck of the woods?

This graphic means it's time for the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held once a week at this time. Let's meet our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics with further comments in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it relates to number three. I always hang on the tissue paper waiting to play.

1. My favorite kind of music is rap and hip hop but TW makes me listen to alt rock and punk. I'm a little ghetto kitteh after all. I can't get TW to listen to more than one or two hiphop/rap songs so, for the most part, you won't find any rap or hip hop on Music Mondays.

2. I don't believe ___________________. Oh no you don't! I left this blank deliberately cos I could potentially get into soooo much trouble and lose all my followers if I answer it truthfully. I'm not playing this game. It's best left up to your imagination how this cat would answer it. Maybe you could tell me in the comments.

3. My ideal day involves a lot of playing and running around. It's when both Pop and TW are home all day. In the morning I can have an "easy like Sunday" with Pop and by afternoon be playing with TW and zooming after rockets, jumping for peacock feathers or tangled in tissue paper.

4. Don't let lack of green papers stop you from helping those kitties less fortunate than yourself. There are plenty of way you can still help. You can donate old towels and bedding, cat food your cats won't eat, litter your cat won't pee in and lots of other items. You can also volunteer to take part in TNR or at the local shelter.

I have a little poem to start my art which is a tribute to Dr. Seuss.
The Cat in the Hat and the ghetto kitteh
Went partying in big New York City.
Out on the town our last dime we spent
So under the subway turnstiles we went
Mulberry Street station it ain't
So please don't get faint
Instead I just got out my paint.

This is my entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to provide a platform for anipal artists to showcase their latest digital, Photoshop and original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into works of art.

  1. My West Coast suburban-raised human still can't wrap her head around the gravy-sauce thing. It's always been sauce to her, while gravy is that stuff that gets passed around at Thanksgiving that she turns down in favor of an extra pat of butter on her mashed potatoes.

  2. We call it sauce here in Massachusetts, and I'm still trying to find a good one. I like your artwork this week. I hope you cats didn't get busted for turnstile jumping.

  3. We think you would say: I don't believe in NOT biting TW. Mom's step-mother, who was 100 percent Italian, always called it gravy. Mom and Dad call it sauce. Thanks for suggesting things that can be done to help kitties less fortunate than ourselves. People sometimes forget that they don't need money to help. How about #1985 if it hasn't already been selected.

  10. You don't know how happy it makes me to hear that others have to move all kinds of stuff whenever workmen come into the house! That was the hardest part of our furnace and water heater replacements.

Dr. Seuss would be proud of that poem, CK! And we love the answer to your #4.

  11. I like your photos, thanks for choosing my number. Sorry TW broke your bowl. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I especially like #4, there are so many ways to help kitties even with no money. I know exactly what you would answer for # 2 :) I love your Dr. Seuss poem and art. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

  12. Oh no! We hope you didn't get lost in the subways. If not Mulberry St., where WUZ you? Listen, be careful to resist the temptation for GRAFFITTI with all that paint. Our human is old enough to remember when there was subway graffiti big time...Happy Cat-urday!

  17. Aww... I like that you did a Seuss theme for your art today!

Maybe TW could make you a permanent dining placement at the counter. I get extra kisses and pets when I'm at my counter position,'cause I'm higher up, which means closer to the humans when they're standing in the kitchen and cooking. I can also get a better view of what Mom's cooking on the stove. I also know the D-O-G can't get my food when it's up high. She did get on the counter once or twice to eat it, but she learned that was a big NO! Tee hee hee. Hugs!

  19. What an embarrassment of riches this post provides! I eat on the dining room table (we are prone to ant invasions if the Human puts my food on the floor). When she has people over, she moves it and cleans the table and tries to pretend the table is not my domain. As if! I LOVE your art and the little poem--I would like to claim its applicability to my own self too! As you know, the Human has been very remiss after I had her well in paw for a while, so I hope we are back on a visiting schedule. XOXOXO

  21. Your look of disgust in photo 5999 is hilarious. You could be bigger than Grumpy Cat...Disgusted Cat! My cat escaped out my window back in the late 70's and came home pregnant. Just sayin'! MOL!

  22. Oh, CK, you make me curious about your fill-inn answer number 2. Can't you give me a hint to calm my curious mind😹Your pictures and captions are so...YOU and we like that! And your artwork...so COOL😎 Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday and see you soon🐾😽💞

  23. I've only heard some Italians call it gravy. It must be a regional thing.
Good luck with the window replacement. Sounds like you'll be spending a few hours in a bedroom or bathroom. :-(

  26. CK, around here, the human has lost ownership of the counter. The kitties have taken over it as one of their many domains. Too bad, human. Your answer to fill-in #4 is absolute purrfection, CK. Of course, all of your answers are always purrfect, but this one is extra purrfect.

P.S. We call it tomato sauce, but tomato gravy sounds way cooler.
