I wasn't sure what to buy with that $65 I'd saved the peeps. I wanted to try something new; something drenched in gravy. Luckily Chewy.com sends me food and treats to review on a monthly basis. Many times I like the food and then we order it. This month they sent the Healthy Indulgence Gravies Grain-Free Variety Pack. Just what I needed to fill my new gravy boat and my stomach. I love the Healthy Indulgence Morsels cos the gravy is so nommy but there's never enough gravy. I wondered how much more gravy this would have.
The Variety Pack includes four boxes of eight pouches featuring two delicious recipes: Chicken & Turkey Smothered in Gravy and Skipjack Tuna & Mackerel Smothered in Gravy. See, they agree that it's gravy and not sauce.
Chewy describes the Gravies as a menu of delectable tastes and textures to satisfy the most demanding palate and the pickiest feline. They slow-cook chicken, turkey, and skipjack tuna into tender shreds all served in a delicious sauce. Without wheat, corn, soy or artificial colors or flavors, this is the Wellness way to enjoy life’s everyday indulgences.
Since this is an honest review, I'll tell you the Healthy Indulgence Morsels have more gravy than the Gravies. I was bitterly disappointed. In fact, I barely licked the tuna and mackerel. The chicken and turkey had a bit more gravy so I ate a lot more of it which is unusual cos I usually avoid chicken and turkey cat food. TW was sure it would be the opposite way.
Healthy Indulgence Gravies Grain-Free Variety Pack Cat Food comes in a case of 32 3-oz pouches.

ReplyDeleteMaybe Binga would like this - she likes both gravy and chunky food, and my human is always looking for new food for her.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd like those...but I do like gravy. Nice review CK!
ReplyDeleteSam has to have LOTS of gravy too, so we'd probably have to pass on these. Thanks so much for an honest review!
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Tried gravy with Daisy Mae of course it wasn't this brand but she refused to eat it. What is so great and different about this food?

Oh, the gravies! But not so much gravies? Hmmm, we think we'd think about that the same as you.
ReplyDeleteGreat review ! We like gravies ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteFlynn always licked the gravy off too. It is disappointing when you were expecting lots of gravy.
ReplyDeleteWe like your honesty, CK!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go antiquing with you, CK! It's fun! We're going to miss your pawsome Chewy reviews :(
ReplyDeleteI like gravy, too, but the housekeeper only buys the pate which, I guess, has its own aspic..I like saying aspic...aspic. Good review, CK! - Tom x
ReplyDeleteSorry they didn't have more gravy. I like your touch of a gravy boat in the review :) XO
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I'll be sure to steer clear of the "gravies". My cat wants a lot of gravy in his food.

ReplyDeleteWe spend a lot on dog food there.
Well dang, it sounds like "Gravies" is kind of a misnomer. Thanks for the honest review, CK!
ReplyDeleteOlive is our gravy fanatic over here. But if this didn't have too much gravy, she'd probably pass. Thanks for the review, CK!
