Biting Those Body Parts

Hola kitties! How about the strange title of today's post? I'm a connoisseur of human body parts. I think at one time or another I've bitten every one of the peeps' body parts—arms, hands, feet, ankles, nose, you name it. Can't say I have a favorite. Any part that's not covered up is mine for the taking.

Biting Those Body Parts

I'm participating in this week's Music Monday blog hop co-hosted by Curious as a Cathy. The prompt chosen this week by Michele from AngelsBark is Body Parts in Song Titles. [Ed. note: Apparently they changed this week's theme and it's NOT body parts. Oopsie!] You don't have to be a music fan to know there are plenty of songs with heart in the title. There are also famous hit songs about legs and arms. Band names also contain body parts. I'm thinking the Brains, Bad Brains, Fetchin' Bones, Talking Heads, Flaming Lips and get this Heads Hands & Feet who actually have a song called "Devil's Elbow" right off my stunning head. Actually thanks to Pop for that last one off the top of his head. Woman, I'll take parts above the neck for 400 points cos these are the first ones to pop into my head.

I could do an entire post of Robyn Hitchcock songs with parts of the body in their titles. "The Man With the Lightbulb Head" was the first title that jumped out at TW as she lay awake the other night cos she loves that song but that wasn't why she was lying awake. OK, she loves most of Hitchcock's songs. Two others that would be appropriate are "Arms of Love," "Queen of Eyes" and "One Long Pair of Eyes."

Speaking of eyes, one of the favorite eye songs around the condo is the Velvet Underground's "Pale Blue Eyes." Lou Reed's musical genius is sorely missed.

Everybuddy would be disappointed if I didn't include a song by R.E.M. "Tongue" is not one of our favorites. I guess "Tongue" is R.E.M.'s attempt at a soul song. Michael sings in a falsetto cos he's singing from a woman's POV. He's got more eye makeup on in the video than TW's ever worn.

The last one I'll share is "Molly's Lips." Nirvana covered the song originally recorded by Vaseline, one of Kurt Cobain's favorite bands. He's another musician that is sorely missed.

There are lots more on my Body Parts playlist like "Starry Eyes" "Back of My Hand" and "You Need Feet" (which you can thank Pop for).

I'll say that I've bitten TW's eye, Pop's tongue and both of their lips and noses although I don't have a nose song today. MOL! I just love my peeps. They taste like chicken.

We'll be back to our regularly-scheduled programming on Wednesday so mark that date on your calendar or just use the button on the right-hand column to subscribe to Stunning Keisha so you never miss an exciting episode.

I'll leave you with a gratuitous pic of me washing my body parts.

  4. Cathy,

I liked all your new-to-me mewsic picks. REM I know but Robyn Hitchcock is new on me. Any relations to Alfred? :)

Don't sweat it about being off-key this week. I was afraid this would happen, so did Michele but it's just one of those things that happen on occasion. Feel free to use this week's theme for next week's 'your choice song picks', if you want. :)

Thanks for joining us on the dance floor and have a boogietastic week, my friend!

  5. Taj Mahal: Cakewalk Into Town
"I had the blues, so bad one time it put my face in a permanent frown
You know I'm feeling so much better, I could cakewalk into town

Honey, I woke up this mornin' feelin' so good, you know I laid back down again
Throw your big leg over me mama, I might not feel this good again

My baby, my baby, I do love the way she walks
And when my woman gets sleepy, I love the way she baby-talks

My work is getting scarce, oh baby, my work it done got hard
I spend my whole day stealin' chickens Honey from the rich folks yard

I would love to take a picnic in the country and stay all day
I wouldn't do nothing but while my blues away

I had the blues so bad one time it put my face in a permanent frown
You know I'm feelin' so much better I could cakewalk into town"

  13. Great choice of songs for this theme! Michele would be so proud :) And don't worry, this theme has been changed a few times (and might even be changed again)

And... learning about body parts is kind of educational, isn't it?

  14. Okay, now I'm confused as to wear you got who was doing the subject theme and the theme you got. Hmmmm well, you got someone's and that's just fine. 15. This is such a fun topic, and I'm looking forward to featuring you know who on our post. Gotta keep it PG though LOL! You sure can be a violent kitty, can't you?

  16. Do you have a favourite body part to bite. CK? I do! However, each person has a special body part. Mom's back of her hand is easy to grab and so tasty. Dad's finger is soft and so odd tasting. I play, *Guess that taste" with his fingy. mol

  17. I really hate winter! It makes a cat's job of keeping the humans in line so much harder. Sweatshirts ... pants ... gloves ... coats ... socks ... the true enemy of any self-respecting cat.

ps - I bit my Momma on the butt once!

  18. Your cat had some interesting choices today. All of these songs are new to me,except for Molly's Lips, showing just how sheltered I am. I guess I need a cat to teach me.Robyn Hitchcock is too much. Alana rambinwitham.blogspot.com

  19. So are you saying that if TW wrapped herself up like a mummy, then you'd stop biting her?

  20. Whoa! I would be too taken in by your stunningness to even notice if you bit me. - Tom x
