This is gonna be a quick Saturday 52 Snapshots and Caturday Art post. This week’s theme is School and the theme not to be confused with the Teach theme from a few week’s ago. At that time I posted the pics of my schooling the stuffies so I won’t revisit that.
Instead I’m getting ready to school TW on the finer points of Creative Suite 5. We originally had this photo shoot months ago when the theme was Books but if you can believe it, TW lost them. Maybe she forgot she took them. (#Senile) They turned up recently and this is the best of the bunch. C’mon, TW, and lemme learn you some Photoshop so you can use it on the art images. I got this book just for a dummy like you.
Uh oh. Take five! It’s time for lunch!
The rub is that when TW was working, her supervisor tried in vain to teach her some simple Photoshop but she was dense and couldn’t figure it out. Now that she’s typing my blog, she’s figuring everything out for herself. It’s almost like I’m schooling her and in a way I am.
Which leads me to the Caturday Art Blog Hop. We didn’t do anything fancy since TW spent so much time getting the images I wanted for Thursday’s post done. I said she was figuring things out; I didn’t say she was fast.
We’re reusing some art I made a couple of years ago for the start of School. I ordered TW to add some pizazz to them. Dunno if I’m happy with them.
We added a cartoon action to this moldy oldie from 2014.
I’m not quite sure what she did to this next one and, frankly, neither is she. It kinda looks like one of those satin finishes they used to use in prehistoric times when TW was a kid. Wait, apparently I jogged her memory. TW tells me it was a Kodak satin film action to which she added some Be Funky nonsense and a drop shadow.
All her ancient pics of Faith have that satin finish. For those of you who aren’t as old as she is, Kodak developed the satin finish and it was all the rage for a year or so. You can see it better if you biggify it. The pictures all had rounded corners which TW forgot to do. (#senile) Before then, all pictures were developed using a glossy finish. Turns out that satin finish wasn’t all that. The photos faded badly just like TW’s memory.
Thanks to Christina and The Lazy Pit Bull for hosting the 52 Snapshots of Life photo challenge this week and every week throughout 2015. For those who would like to participate, next week’s theme is Sleepy, a topic that’s near and dear to cats.
Who’s schooling their humans this weekend? I’ll be teaching Napping 101 and Advanced Ankle Biting.
I think they look pretty good! #notsosenile ;-)
ReplyDeleteCool! Love the one with the pencils!!!
ReplyDelete...you guys are really moving up in the creative world! Glogirly's still limping along with CS3. ; )
I could teach Bacon Beggin 101 - I sure taught Crockett and Angelique how to do it.
ReplyDeleteHappy schooling CK, but you don't need it, you are way smart already!
ReplyDeleteThose are really great!

Oh dear! Our human is equally #senile and quite frankly, it's exasperating to us kitties. We do like the photo with the pencils a lot - they look like they would be fun to push off the table for no apparent reason. Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey Gang!
ReplyDeleteCK we love what you've taught TW!
ReplyDelete#TWisnotsobad I think she is improving greatly, CK #welldone. The Staff must be as ancient as TW cos she remembers the satin finish with the rounded corners and yes they do fade!! #notsoclever
ReplyDeleteMommy sez hers members da satin finish too. she sed she actually liked it a bit, but it didn't stay wound fur long. Altho' da last time hers took fotos in to be developed fwum a 35 mm camewa they offered hers dat satin finish. MOL We fink yous fotos be gweat CK. Have a gweat day,

WOW, M and i are VERY impressed with TW's art work. M is still trying to learn Photoshop Essential Elements 10 (now there is a 13 out), and she's really had trouble catching on. We even have the book for dummies, but the book does not always match what is on the screen, plus the print is so small she says she can't see it that well. So you need to give TW lots of encouragement because she's doing very well on teaching herself. We have heard the real Photoshop is much much harder to learn than the Elements 10. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these! I definitely need to get a "dummies" book for my photo software too!

We love the last picture with the pencil ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteEither you're a good teacher, or TW is a decent student, because those came out pretty well, CK! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know what you're doing CK...too bad our moms just don't understand....its so easy.
ReplyDelete(((Shoko)))
Your artwork and graphics are always fantastic. I'm afraid even Photoshop for Dummies wouldn't help me!
ReplyDeleteI love all your photos and art for "school" especially you on the chalkboard. Sadly, even a dummy book can't help me with computer things.
ReplyDeleteWell, we're impressed. TW isn't so bad at photoshop. Unlike the mom who doesn't know how to use it at all.
ReplyDeleteExcellent ! I hope you learn a lot !
ReplyDeleteThanks for "schooling" us CK! Love seeing your beautiful self :)

Good for TW for learning this stuff! The lady is completely hopeless but has used a couple YouTube videos. She should really get a book. Plus, she remembers the satin finish and rounded corners of photos! We really like your photos, especially the one with you in the sketch book. That one is very cool!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are pretty cool, especially like the pencils. I can't seem to figure too much out on Photoshop, either, so don't feel bad. And, I don't think we're alone there, TW. #notsenile
ReplyDeleteGood work taking TW back to school CK. That book looks like something I need. Speaking of that Photoshop stuff, I need to call those peeps so they can tell me what's wrong with my Elements. Would be nice if it actually worked so I could make videos with it. (If I can figure it out mol!)
ReplyDeleteThat book is huge! I hope it has lots of pictures. Most of mom's college textbooks weren't that thick.
ReplyDeleteYou are obviously an excellent teacher because TW posts excellent photos of you.
Hashtag senile! HAAAAhahahahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteWe love the pics. I think Lexy and I will buy Mommy that book. She needs to learn A LOT of stuff!
ReplyDeleteC.K., we think your art is terrific this week. Our mom says she doesn't think she'd live long enough to make it through that book . She wishes TW lots of luck. We expect to see some great photos and art from her very soon. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteWe think you will be an excellent tutor for the Woman, CK! The Human took a Photoshop class back in the '90s but most of what she learned was lost in the dim mists of time...she has tried to learn a little in Photoshop Elements which is PLENTY challenging for her, believe you me. Fortunately she has a friend (my Lord Chancellor Fritzie's Dad) that helps her sometimes. Be nice, CK; it's hard for the elderly to learn themselves new tricks, LOL.
ReplyDeleteMy mum remembers so satin finish photos too and thought they looked great. Big mistake! Your art looks good, but of course it does because you are in them.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe my mum had photoshop preinstalled on her last laptop about 2 or 3 years ago and she tried it once and gave up! I think she needs that book for dummies.
Those are both so neat!
ReplyDeleteOh we really like both of your art photos, CK!
ReplyDeleteI like that last one! So cool!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Good luck on your schooling! Those Dummies books can be quite helpful!
