I am a Rock

As soon as I laid eyes on this week’s PhotoHunt theme challenge, I knew we were going to see the return of the big orange rock. It’s not hard to figure out how TW’s tiny brain works. A little known fact is that we have an affiliate account with the Himalyan Salt Shop, where TW bought the rock. I knew she wasn’t gonna make me a rockstar or even think rocknroll and I was right. We had a hard time deciding which shot from this photo shoot we were gonna feature. I looked exceptionally stunning next to the rock.

Today for Athena and Marie’s Caturday Art Blog Hop I decided to do something in PhotoShop. We found this image where TW was obviously trying to frame my face in the bag handle. Unfortunately, the point and click camera decided to focus on the handle rather than my stunning face. First I’ll share the original.

In Photoshop we used either the glowing edges or the neon glow filter—TW forgot to mark it down. Already you’ll notice that I’m suddenly sharp and clear, standing out in all my stunning glory. It looks a bit like a still life painting.

Then she posterized it. We like the color this added. Again, we didn’t want to take away from the effect by adding a border or frame. You can click each photo to biggify.

Pawsome Halloween Contest!!

This week I used PhotoShop for my art images but I have been known to use PicMonkey so they reached out to me to share info about a very special Halloween contest. They’ve partnered with startup Rover.com to bring you #FrankenPet. Click here for a complete set of rules.

I’m using some of PicMonkey’s pawsome Halloween effects.

To enter either snap a photo of your pet in a costume or use one of their many Halloween features to decorate your photo. There will be three winners and three runner-ups. One of each category: Creepy Canines, Scaredy Cats, and Other Beasts (birds, lizards, monkeys, etc.). Photos will be judged on creativity, use of PicMonkey Halloween effects, embodiment of contest theme and photo quality.

Once your entry is ready, share it using the hashtag #FrankenPet on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Goodgle+ or Flickr by 11:59pm on Halloween.
