Feral Friday Foodie Fill-Ins

Hola kitties! I'm the master of alliteration with these post titles! HAH! Are you like me and your life revolves around food? I must say I'm a very picky eater but my food must be on time and in my favorite dishes. Also, as much as I love Pop working at home, I don't eat nearly as much when he's at home as when he goes in to the office. That doesn't mean I want him to leave me, it just means I'd rather sit next to him than eat which could be a paw of contention for the peeps.

Feral Friday Foodie Fill-Ins

TW gives me four meals of stinky goodness which is about nine ounces a day. Out of that she might throw away half of it or more on one of my "purge" days. I mostly eat kibble on these days until TW takes it away from me. Don't worry; I don't actually frow up on those purge days. On a good day, I'll eat six or more ounces. Say what you will but I've weighed about the same for the last five years.

Feral Friday Foodie Fill-Ins

Now it's time to join the Friendly Fill-Ins, a weekly feature held at this time, which is already in progress. Our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs need no innerductions as they are giants in the cat blogging world. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers which are underlined and in italics. Any further comments on my part are in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. Today it applies to numbers one and two. Of course the image TW found was not either of the bowls mentioned but somehow she found an image of the brown bowl for the header.

1. I am particular about my meals. My food has to be in the same dishes every day. I won't eat out of a different dish. OK, if I'm starving I will. I finally got used to the brown dishes TW spent a lot of money on from Baby Patches' shop. I must get Fancy Feast in the morning and TW has to stand and watch me eat. Unfortunately I get gut rot for lunch and TW has to chase me around feed me in the place I want to eat which is usually the Litter Box Lounge. My 4 pm dinner must be served at 3:30 unless I sleep until 5 or 6. Since I waste a lot of food during the day I get my favorite meal about 1 or 2 a.m. That's when I FINALLY get the Savory Centers which I enjoy from the brown dishes. I will not eat out of stainless steel even if that's what the image shows.

2. My food is late. This happens far too often. Sometimes I even miss meals cos TW goes out and forgets to come home. Although it's usually my gut rot lunch, it's still the principle of the matter that I'm being shorted.

3. The ride to my forever condo is a moment I will never forget. I was both excited and terrified. I'd never lived with humans. Up to that point, humans weren't very nice to me. I'll also never forget when the vet techs at my first vet hospital turned me over trying to steal my bloods and caused me to go into respiratory distress. I thought I would die and have had asthma since that time. Going to the vet is my worst nightmare. No amount of Feliway or gabapentin is gonna make me feel safe.

4. Have you ever heard of Dondi Willis? Neither have I but TW and Pop spent 20 minutes online trying to find out the name of one of his pals. Srsly. They worry about things like that. Oh, apparently it's a very old comic strip that ran in the newspaper centuries ago. Dunno what brought this up but it was a matter of urgency that they find out.

Feral Friday Foodie Fill-Ins

I went into Photoshop again this week to do some painting with my new watercolors. Once again I used the free Adobe Watercolor Artist action. I'll get it right yet. I hope my watercolor technique soon is as good as my oil painting technique. Practice makes perfect as they say. Do you think this one came good? Did you want a puzzle?

This will be my Feral Friday entry in the Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to showcase the latest art by anipal artists using digital apps, Photoshop or original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn your photos into digital works of art.

Would you like to comment?

  1. I love this watercolor! My human still hasn't taken the time to play with the watercolor action.

  3. Humans! Who can figure them out? My Momma lives at a funny farm ... or is that a looney bin? And what's the difference?

  7. Wow! And I thought our cat's eating schedule were harsh! Whatever keeps you happy CK - stay gorgeous and have a great weekend.

  8. Love the fill-ins, but the mom should feed you on time. Cats are royalty and should be treated as such. I know you agree.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥

  9. I think Dondi's last name was Wills after he was finally adopted happily by Whitey's war buddy. He came to the US as a Korean War orphan and was adopted by Whitey and Monique, who were killed in a car crash, leaving Dondi to the tender mercies of Whitey's mother, Mrs. McGowan. About then the Akron Beacon Journal dropped the cartoon,so I started reading "Terr'ble Thompson" in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. ("Terr'ble Thompson" only ran about six months. His cousin Tom Terrific made it big in animation.)

  10. What beautiful artwork, CK! And you really are particular about your food.

  11. Love the art! LOL on #4...us humans spend lots of time doing some crazy things, don't we? Mudpie isn't particular about her meal times at all. She eats when she's hungry, period. Except for squeezies...they must be on time or else.

  12. Those were really good answers CK and I'm picky about my favorite food bowl too. Love your art this week stunning one!

  13. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. My kitties like the savory centers too. I am sorry your food is late, that is unacceptable. No, I never heard of Dondi Willis.Beautiful art. Thank you for the puzzle. XO

  14. Yikes, your feeding routine has lots of requirements. I thought I was picky eating only a few flavors and needing my food to be as pate/creamy as possible. I would eat more varieties, but the people limit my choices so as not to irritate my sensitive digestive system. I have my own stack (actually 2 stacks) of kitty plates, but I'm not choosy as long as it's not a deep bowl.
Instead of wasting food, your mom could probably scoop up your leftovers and put them out for the neighborhood cats!

You did a great job with your watercolor art today.

  15. Your artwork is magnificent again, CK and we can't wait to do the puzzle😸 I'm a picky eater too, always the same, because I refuse to eat something else :D Have you ever tried a Bach Remedy before going to the vet's? I'd highly recommend it, Rescue Remedy is one of the best natural tranquillizers when you're having these kind of issues. It's worth a try, honest. Pawkisses for a Happy Caturday🐾😽💞

  17. Lovely art!

I'm particular about my food bowl too. And I only drink out of my own mug, one that I claimed as mine as soon as I saw it.

  18. I've been horrible about visiting but I do look at your pictures on FB when the stoopy Human helps me. Phffft. You look really very fetching in that watercolor painting! My Human is really, really OLD and she loved comics but she never heard of Dondi Willis, though the Dondi part rings a super-faint bell. But the Willis is a myster. She wonders if they are thinking about this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dondi

  19. Great artwork, CK! We love that you love Pop so much that you would nor even eat as much when he's there! WOW!

  20. This is an outstanding piece of art, CK!
Sorry I've missed it, but now I'm off to puzzle!
    Thank you.

  21. CK, a meal date with you and Tonks sure would be interesting. Tonks is also very particular about her food, and I'll admit that a lot of kitty food gets thrown out because she's never consistent with what food she wants or when. Not that she's to blame. This here human is probably to blame, some way, somehow. And you better believe this here human did a Google search for the Dondi Willis comic strip. Purrs!
