He couldn't touch me but I laid on the bed with him when he rested and got up and walked with him when he went into the kitchen. I didn't let him out of my sight. All too soon, he headed back to work. I'd lost my partner. When he went back to work, we found a new way to bond.

Yes, we found a new way to bond a couple of years later. In 2011, I won a FURminator® deShedding Tool but TW was afraid I wouldn't like it and I'd attack her so she gave it to Pop so I would attack him instead. I didn't attack him. I even blogged about it. I love the time Pop spends FURminating me several mornings a week before he goes to work. When Chewy contacted me and axed if I would like to review the FURminator Short Hair deShedding Edge For Cats, how could I say no? I wanted to tell cat parents—especially new ones—how they could use the FURminator to bond with their cats.

Our bonding time is usually in the early mornings after he gets up for work. The condo is quiet; we're the only ones awake. I jump on the chair near his dressing table and he pets me for a bit and then while I'm purring up a storm, he gets out the FURminator. While he is grooming me, he'll talk softly to me telling me how much he loves me and how stunning I am. He even sneaks in a kiss or two on my head!

The FURminator deShedding tool helps prevent hairballs cos it reduces shedding up to 90%. That's a lot of furs! The tool's edge reaches through the topcoat to safely remove loose fur and undercoat without damaging the coat or cutting the skin. It's got both an ergonomic handle for comfortable use and the FURejector® button to make releasing fur a breeze.

Up to two-thirds of the fur a cat sheds is ingested during self-grooming, resulting in yucky hairballs. Hairballs are both messy for the human and stressful for the cat. In some cases the cat swallows so much fur, it can cause blockages and other potential-serious problems. If you see your cat retching or coughing a lot and no hairball comes up, a trip to the evil vet place is in order. If I let him, after our FURminator session, Pop will use a brush to get rid of any loose hair that accumulates around the base of my tail so I don't swallow it. If I don't, he pets me and gets any loose hair off that way.

Of course, you don't need to do your bonding in the morning but that's when I'm most calm. I wouldn't recommend using it more than two or three times a week. All in all, TW is lucky and so am I cos I maybe cough up one or two hairballs a year and we can thank the FURminator.
