We work with a couple of point-and-shoot cameras set on automatic. At one time TW had a fancy-shmancy analog camera and knew what she was doing so she'd never think to shoot on auto. We consider a fail to be one where I have laser eyes that she can't fix in Photoshop as well as classic fails such as blurry shots, over-/under-exposures or grainy shots. This month I admit TW didn't take too many of them. I almost had to go to the archives but not quite.
Dark and slightly blurry. OK, so this isn't a classic fail in the cropped and shrunk to fit version but at full size you can see how bad it is. What a great stink-eye I'm giving her too.
Can you guess what's wrong with this one? The lighting and focus is impeccable but … where's The Cat's face? The best part of me is cropped right out of the frame. TW was more focused on getting the product in and not the star of the blog.
I can't blame TW for this one. It was all Pop with his iPhone. This IS a classic fail—dark, too much clutter and look at the composition! He was trying to photograph The Cat eating out of TW's hand but I decided to walk toward him and ruin the shot. Heh! I'm good at that.
I'm joining the Pet Photo Fails Blog Hop hosted by Miss Cuddlywumps, Paisley and Webster of the Cuddlywumps Cat Chronicles blog. This blog hop takes place on the last Friday of each and every month. Everyone has an occasional photo fail so you should join in the fun.
The Friendly Fill-Ins are hosted each and every week by 15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it relates to number one.
1. Fireworks don't bother me. TW loves watching them from the window cos she never saw any as a child. I sleep through them. I guess I'm lucky they don't shoot them in our hood and the ones from NYC aren't all that loud. TW says when she was growing up, it was like a war zone.
2. My favorite 4th of July picnic food is rotisserie chicken. At least I wish that's what the peeps cooked but it's not. It's the three times a year they have test tubes, beans and all the side dishes. Hot dogs ARE nothing but test tubes. Am I right? Again, the peeps have never done a picnic. TW talks about when Gramps used to have barbecues and invite the whole neighborhood. Those days are long gone.
3. I begin every day with Pop. Actually TW feeds me breakfast first and then I go into Pop's room to
4. My cube is the best thing since sliced bread. I didn't like it when I first saw it and then it attacked me. Now it's my go-to place on Pop's bed. I even lay in there when it's really hot out.
For my art this week, I used curly brush strokes cos I wanted to see how I'd look with a Cornish Rex-style perm. I added some tortie colors. What do you think? Yea or nay? It's my entry in The Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to provide a platform for anipal artists to showcase their latest digital, Photoshop and original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn you into a regular PiCATso.
Concatulations to Kelly T. who won the FURminator deShedding Tool.
They really cracked down on the fireworks thing this year - I think because we live in a fire zone, and it keeps getting drier every year. I'm not complaining about the lack of street fireworks, believe me!
ReplyDeleteYour art looks great. I hate fireworks, I hope they won't be too bad this year. At least my animals aren't bothered by them.
ReplyDeleteNice fails, CK! I really like the one your pop took with the phone. Paisley ruins my planned masterpieces all the time by walking toward me as soon as I get the camera out. Nice art too--you look good with a tortie perm. Thanks for joining Pet Photo Fails! :)
ReplyDeleteActually, we don't mind fireworks until about 2 in the morning, but our poor feral family gets so scared. Your photos never fail CK!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Test tubes! You just made my day with that one, CK. I hope you don't mind if I start calling them that, because it's sort of 100% true. That being said, thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! As for the photo fails, though, could any photo with you in it really be considered a "fail", CK?
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good artsy photo of you, CK! Concats to the Furminator winner!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kelly! She will love the FURminator. Great photo fails, all the fault of humans and not you. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. We also have test tubes for the 4th, we rarely have them though and I get the angus beef kind because I do not eat pork ( well, except for bacon). I bet it is nice to see the fireworks from NYC, we like to see them on tv, but I hate the illegal ones that people all around us set off. I love your art- that would make a fun puzzle. Have a nice weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of photo fails! We'll have to remember to participate in this blog hop. Our mom hates July 4th because of all of the fireworks. Lexy and I are braver than she is.
ReplyDeleteck....therz knot an "occasional" foto fail round heer, therz an epee demic....de FSG couldna takez a good foto if a pro waz standin ther tellin her how.... yur caturday art peece thiz week total rockz ....itz sorta kinda three dee N stuffz !! ☺☺♥♥
ReplyDeleteI admit that I haven't developed an eye for photography. Or maybe it's just MY photography that I have problems evaluating. Love that stink-eye, CK ... talk about a look speaking volumes!
ReplyDeleteMOL those are some great bloopers!!! TW really did chop your head off, didn't she? And you look pretty great in tortie colors!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the texture on your art gives you curly furrs! Impurr-essive! Could I ever get out the photo fails that Mom has taken of me! If I had 100 toes (could you imagine?) that would still not be enough to count for all of them! She says we darker kitties are harder to photograph. Excuses, excuses I reply back to her! Winks. -Valentine (& Mom) of Noir Kitty Mews
ReplyDeleteIt’s so great fireworks don’t bother you. One of my boys doesn’t care, either, but the other goes hidin UTB every year. I love your curly artwork!
ReplyDeleteOk first, I don't think most of those photos are bloopers! LOVE your artwork! The fireworks don't bother Cody either (they bother Dakota BIG time, but EVERYTHING bothers Dakota, Cody is the brave one)....CK you and Cody need to get together, chicken is his all time favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbors set off fireworks right next to our house each year. So far, our cats (and dog) have been fine. We'll see about Harley. We didn't have him yet last 4th. Very nice art, as always!
ReplyDeleteCK...I purrsonally think that all of your photos are the best! My Mom is a horrible hotographer, she only keeps about 1 out of every 15-20 pictures and many of the ones she keeps are not that great (good thing there is photoshop)...but I love her anyway.
ReplyDeleteI like you fillins! Especially the cube..I LOVE my cube too (It's purple) and your Art - PURFECTIONS!
I love it too!

We are MOL @ the headless one. Mom takes lots of those or spinning head ones. One of Mom's 4th of July traditions is to watch the Macy's fireworks on TV. How cool to see them in purrson. We remember when your cube attacked you. Glad you trained it to behave.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
I did not even know Macy's did fireworks. We used to go to firework shows around here sponsored by the fire department. This was really not that professional, but still fun.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy fourth and a blessed week.
Most of our photos are photo fails. Even though Dad is an A+ photographer, he does better with stationary objects. And Mom herself wobbles too much to get a good photo. We think Summer doth protest too much. All her photos are terrific. Your art came out great. You make a beautiful, tortie Cornish Rex! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
ReplyDeleteThe iPhone fail is what Eric used to do all the time. He didn't like having his photo taken, so he would either walk into the camera or turn his back. I think he thought the camera would steal his soul!
ReplyDeleteI like your art. If ladies can change their hairdos, why shouldn't you. Nice colours too.
Lovely art!
ReplyDeleteFireworks don't bother me either, though they bother Mum!
Purrs xx
Athena
Your art is absolutely stunning, you are definitely very talented at your work. Hope you are keeping cool in this heat. Loved stopping by your blog. Keep up the posts, love checking out you blog.
ReplyDeleteWorld of Animals
That's a big YEA on the Caturday art - we love it! Our cat Sam isn't bothered by fireworks either, she never has been.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a lot of you cats are good at the ole "walk at the camera" trick! We know you do it on purpose to mess up our shots! :)
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Gracie isn't too bothered by the fireworks. Ava has already proven she is not scared of lightning and thunder, so maybe the fireworks will not freak here out, either. We love that artwork, CK. You did such an awesome job1
