Lazing on a Summer Afternoon

Hola kitties! What a week we've had! Temps were in the upper 80s to low 90s with humidity. Leave it to Pop to see a lady in a skimpy bikini sunbathing on the deck of the new building next door. HAH! He took Thursday off so I could "go to work" with him. I chose to stay awhile and around noon decided to take the rest of the day off. Work is hard but my Friday post isn't.

Lazing on a Summer Afternoon

Unedited fotos and ready-made templates for the headers means the post goes quicker or does it? TW can spend hours in Canva picking out a template. You'd think she was picking out a wedding dress. Let's get this thing rolling already!

Lazing on a Summer Afternoon

I dunno what angle TW took foto #2347 at cos I appear to be sliding off the frame. For some reason it looks like my ear is bleeding but that's not the case. We checked some other fotos taken at the same time and my ear is fine. What's not fine is that mess all over the place behind me in Pop's Place. If this had been used for a different post, TW would have cropped in tight and blurred out what she couldn't crop. Thanks to Three Chatty Cats & the Jr. Associates for choosing this June 2012 foto.

Lazing on a Summer Afternoon

Flynn's mum Jackie chose #1415 from February 2011. It was one of the first times TW captured me near the big orange rock in the living room.  If you have good eyes and look closely, you can see all kinds of inneresting things in the shelf behind me: a Sonic Youth video, a baseball player Smurf, a Greek cross … Anyhoo, this was from the same foto shoot that was used to create my first coloring pages. It's fun to make art out of grainy or blurry fotos.

The Friendly Fill-Ins are hosted each and every week by 15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it relates to number four.

1. My favorite scent is rotisserie chicken. That's followed closely behind by tuna and turkey luncheon meat. TW likes real stinky stuff like lavender and vanilla.

2. I hope to draw some blood this weekend. I wonder which peep will let me bite him/her. I also hope to score some rotisserie chicken although the weekly shopping trip may be rained out.

3. The sound of the cat food can being opened is music to my ears. I hear-tell in the past cats would come from miles around when they heard a can opener.

4. Home is where my rockets are. And my tunnels, my food and my cube. Why would I want to go elsewhere?

Lazing on a Summer Afternoon

The Summer Solstice was yesterday so I did a little pastel sketch. That's me lying in the hammick. This is a brand new work that will be in my gallery shortly. I may be selling prints soon. It's my entry in The Caturday Art blog hop which is hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum to provide a platform for anipal artists to showcase their latest digital, Photoshop and original art. No talent? No problemo. There are hundreds of one-click apps for desktop or mobile devices that will turn you into a regular PiCATso.

  1. Rotisserie chicken is an AWESOME scent! I should have put it on the menu for Cat World Domination Day because I'm hungry now.

  3. Nice choices on the photos, but it really does look like your ear is bleeding. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I thought you were going to say Chinese food was your favorite smell. I hope you get some chicken this weekend, but maybe not draw blood after that Father's Day gift you gave your Pop. XO

  4. CK, do you ever slap that Smurf off the shelf? I love smacking things off of shelves, and he looks like a purrfect victim. Did you know that I don't come running when I hear a can of food opening? I only come running if my mom opens a jar of baby food. She says I'm spoiled, and I say that's how it's supposed to be. 7. Yay, you chose my photo! You do kind of look like you're sliding out of the frame. And that's perfect summery art!

  8. I am glad you picked my photo because I have always liked your rock lamp, but of course it comes second to you in the photo. That goes without saying.
I agree with you on the smell of rotisserie chicken and TW with vanilla. Not so much the lavender though.

  9. CK ... your personality is every bit at stunning as your looks are. I never thought to blur backgrounds. I'm not entirely sure how to try ... but you've given me a weekend project! This house is full of traps that I refuse to show on our blog - most of the time, I catch them in advance - but sometimes I don't have a choice!

  10. Maybe Pop will work from home more often if bikini lady sticks around! LOL Would you believe Mudpie comes running when she hears cat food cans open even though she hardly never wants what's inside!

  14. As usual CK, we think even your bad fotos are good. And it's nice to know other peeps are croppin' and blurrin' and otherwise hidin' the mess 'stead of cleanin'. MOL Big hugs

  15. Wow, that's quite an angle in that photo. Mom often has to "straighten" photos because she can't hold the camera level. Mom played with your photo, and it was an astounding 23 degrees from horizontal....you Mom must have had something artistic in mind when she took that photo.
Rotisserie chicken is one of our favorites. We actually have some left-overs in the fridge.
Your pastel art is wonderful with all the vibrant colors.

  17. Great pics!

It's warming up here but Mum and I really can't understand this fascination with humans wanting to burn themselves silly in the sun.

Mum is pale and she loves it!

  21. Love your hammick art, CK, and your choice of smells. Paisley likes the sound of the can opening too. She's always so disappointed when I open a can of beans or something else that's not stinky cat food or tuna! :)
