Retro Art From My Blue Period

Am I blue? The answer is of course not. My art just has me looking a bit blue and I accentuated it by using some blue and pink colored lighting in my gallery. Pretty wild, isn't it? We're showing some older art that never was featured cos TW needs to is spending much too much time picking out a new health insurance plan.

Retro Art From My Blue Period

The art supply store was having a sale on blue paint and mosaics so I picked up a couple in different shades. I combined paint and mosaics to come up with today's art. Both art pieces were made using different app but the patterns are similar as far as the mosaics that make up the pieces.

Retro Art From My Blue Period

I-pawd app Paintile offered me this nice shade of teal in an effect they call Toon, which has more of a stained glass look to it than a cartoon look. This work was created back in July which makes it retro. Paintile is from the same company that has the SuperPhoto app and I think some of the filters are the same.

If you're like me, you're having fun trying to find different apps on the computer and mobile devices to test out. It would be boring if we all used the same app although most are similar. They're all fun with the exception of the one that takes three days to render your art. But, hey, they're not the only tuna in the sea as you've all proved.

Retro Art From My Blue Period

Back in September I experimented with this Neopop blue on the computer. I really love this one. I went nutz that day and created about a dozen artworks. I didn't have room to put them to dry.

In the comments I need you to tell TW all those health plans are the same. She's gonna wind up with one that doesn't cover anything no matter how long she searches. Perhaps some day she'll buy a plan for The Cat. Do you have insurance?

Check out Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty's blog for all the creative links in the Caturday Art Blog Hop and see all the different apps that hip cats are using. You may want to try one and participate next week. Athena and her mum would love to have you.

  1. I don't have insurance, but I should - I'm still young enough to get it, unlike Binga and Boodie. My human is halfway tempted to ignore the whole insurance thing and just let hers automatically renew since "it's only going up like $50 or something," and that is way better than the increases she's had in the past.

Aw heck, I's one of those folks who has fallen through the loopholes in any insurance I have had. For the past fifteen years, I have a separate account into which I place the equivalent of a premium and it accrues interest and is there for need... it has remained untouched in that time. So it will be useful. Eventually.

LOVE YOUR ART! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Your art is Bluetiful CK! I don't have insurance either. The peeps have insurance but the deductibles are always so high they pay everything out of pocket anyways, so they try not to use it.

  5. We are mad for the Neopop art, C.K. But then Kitties Blue LIKE anything blue! Good luck to TW finding an insurance plan. Our humans were happy they could keep what they had when Dad retired. It is confusing! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

  6. I LOVE the bottom one. And Mommy says that the Health Insurance she gets through work is pretty excellent...but then we have universal healthcare up here. She is thinking about getting insurance for me, but I have a pre-existing condition (asthma). We ate going to do some digging (my purrsonal specialty) on that.
    Happy Caturday!

  8. That Neopop blue is so cool! You must have had a real spurt of creativity that day. Insurance-shopping time is always stressful for me. I use way more curse words than usual at this time of year.

  17. My parents had to change their health plan at work. Every year they play "insurance hopscotch" because the companies, who all offer 99% the same plan, have wild price swings (up to $2,000/year) as they try to undercut the other insurer, then up their prices the next year to recover costs!
They don't have insurance for me and didn't have it for any of the other pets. We've read it's really hit or miss as to whether or not it pays off, and since they can afford to not have insurance for me, it makes the decision easier.

Your art today is fantastic. I bet you could put together a collection of your best works and sell note pads or cards.
