Celebrating World Watercolor Month

Celebrating World Watercolor Month

July is World Watercolor Month! An artist such as myself takes note of this day. Watercolor is one of the most ancient forms of art. In honor of this important art date, I set up the easel and took out my watercolor paints to give it a go.

Just for the halibut I decided to put my skills to the test and try some different watercolor styles. Some left me cold. It's amazing what different programs' definition of watercolor is The one I like the best is the Photoshop action but you be the judge.

4. Photoshop action

You can biggify all the art for a closer look at my brush strokes and my strokes of genius. We don't have any classic art in the condo so I wouldn't know; but which do you think is closest to a real watercolor?

If you liked my art—or even if you didn't—you can see more feline and pet art by checking out Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty for all the creative links to the Caturday Art Blog Hop.

  1. I'd say #4 Photoshop Action is closest to watercolor with the slightly blurry edges.
You look a bit surprised in #2.

  8. We love the Photoshop Action. The colors are gorgeous! If all the editing programs were the same, we would have so many fewer choices of fun things to do. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
