It's time once again for me and Mr. Mouse to check out the pamphlet Happy Cat Happy You. These quick tips for building a bond with your feline friend are suggested by the authors at the Catnip Newsletter and compiled for Tufts Institute. This is a series that I'm running which is not sponsored by anyone. I'm just offering my stunning opinions.
I know I've poo-pooed many of these tips but I like Tip #8 a lot and wish TW would implement it. It just may strengthen our bond. Treat your cat like a CEO: cat extra-ordinaire. It states that since I've been loyal (koff koff) to TW for so long, she owes me a daily dose of pampering. They suggest warming a small blankie in the clothes dryer for 5 to 10 minutes and then draping it over me during chilly nights like tonight to help me fall asleep. This can also be used for arthritic cats to improve blood flow and ease muscle aches.
I wouldn't call this a blanket, Woman. Try again. |
How about it, TW? I know you're still blaming me for putting the hit on you the other morning. I honestly thought the "bed mouse" was attacking you and wanted to protect you. [Ed note: Any other cats out there dive bomb your shoulder when they see a hand move under the cover? CK does. All the cats before her would attack the hand.] That was uncalled for, Woman! Erase that comment! As my furrends know, I'm a brilliantly smart cat. I know where that hand is coming from and believe in getting to the source.
You can read my comments regarding the other tips too. Tip 1. Tip 2. Tip 3. Tip 4. Tip 5. Tip 6. Tip 7.
Any other cats lining up for those heated blankets? What other ways does your human pamper you like a CEO?
I love that heated blanket idea! My human needs to use that one.
ReplyDeleteI join you in being a CEO-Cat-Extra-Ordinaire, CK...and I like that warm blankie idea too. Wishing you and your Peeps a Happy New Year and a 2017 filled with peace, joy, health, love & light!
ReplyDeleteHeated blankets are wonderful, especially in winter. I wouldn't mind being covered by a blanket but I'd also like to have one underneath me and let the heat radiate up.
ReplyDeleteI'd luv a heated blanket!
ReplyDeleteWe like to sleep on Dad's side of the bed cause he turns on his heating blanket. We do not usually like to be covered up
ReplyDeleteA heated blanket sounds like a great idea. Even though we're in California, I think the kitties would still like it.
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed a most amazing CEO CK!
ReplyDeleteWe have a heated bed that we LOVE! Devi tends to attack feet when they move under the covers. You definitely deserve pampering, CK.
ReplyDeleteThe Farm cats have a heated cat pad. That's as good as gets here. Unless you count the WOODSTOVE. They can lie in front of a fire to get warm.
ReplyDeleteOur only extra heat is lying close to Mom at night!

ReplyDeleteC.K., you may not want to be covered, but I bet you would like to lie atop a nice warm blanket. We just lie atop our nice warm humans. MOL! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteA heated blanket sounds good to me. I snuggle into my mum's big furry dressing gown to keep warm.
ReplyDeleteWhy go for the little fry of the hand when you can get a big juicy shoulder? Not to mention that hand was gently used by a cat's fangs the night before. We like fresh, blank space. Oh. And you EXPECT us to go for the hand. PHHT. Every cat worth his fangs will do what you least expect! ~Bear Cat
ReplyDeleteWhoa Mudpie would totally go for that! My childhood cat Patch would always lay on top the clean clothes when they'd come out of the dryer especially as he got older.
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed a brilliantly smart cat!
ReplyDeleteCK.....we are CEO's EVERY DAY!!!! You rule there and you know it! Love, Cody catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteAww...my cat warmer is out in the house for the hotel guests. Mom says when it warms up, I'll get it back. Ok...meanwhile I snuggle like crazy in this super cold weather.
ReplyDeleteKali
hmmm...I think TKS would like that heated blankie. For me, Dad has started making me my tent again on the guest bed. And I am totally rocking that tent!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely deserve a heated blankie.
ReplyDeleteAll of us here would love a warm blanket but the mom is too lazy to do it for us.
ReplyDeleteMes has a heating pad!
ReplyDeleteAnd Bed Mice...mes used to really really bites them hard! Mes wanted to dead them!
Kisses
Nellie
That heated blanket idea is da bomb, CK! We'll have to try that one out! And TW should do that for you, too, oh Stunning One!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I warmed blanket sounds like a wonderful way to pamper a kitty. You have great taste, CK. With these low winter temperatures, I know my kitties would love that. Since my kitties will sit in my lap, I might just warm a blanket and sit it across my lap for one of the cats to sit in. :)
ReplyDelete-Purrs from your friends at www.PlayfulKitty.net
Well, I amnot find of being covered up, but my Human did earn extra points tonight by putting my soft new red blankie on top of my scratcher that is positioned ever so conveniently right in front of the radiator. So that was pretty good. Later, I will go read up up on Tips 1 -7 and see if I can edumacate the Old Bat. I loved your in-furson New Year's greetings XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteTommie didn't like being under the covers until he was 15 or so. Maybe he felt the cold more as he got older. Only our female cats over the years figured out that the hand was connected to the arm which was the real source of troubles... Now we have Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red - innocent boys who only go after the mysterious bed mouse under the covers. You can't generalize about cats! But that warm blanket sounds very nice!

We can say we are pampered almost every day here, we are lucky kitties ! You totally deserve a warmed blanket, CK. Purrs
ReplyDeleteWe love warm blankies around here. They're so cozy and delightfully toasty. You certainly deserve yourself a toasty blankie, CK! (Oh, and tell TW that she's not alone. Around here, Eddy can scrape skin off this mom of hers through even three layers of blanket.)
ReplyDeleteWith three kitties reading this post over my shoulder how can I not go and throw their little blankets in the dryer for them...I don't think they'd ever forgive me if I didn't!!!
