Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Founded by Deb Barnes of the Zee & Zoey Cat Chronicles, Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is a day we remember those kitties or other pets that made the journey upward to the RB. Today we're paying homage to Faith E. Girl, the first cat that ever came into TW's life.

Faith came to TW at six weeks old via a family up the block from her. TW always thought that she had some Abyssinian in her because of her large ears and the ruddiness in her furs. Yes, Faith was declawed but never had any behavioral or litter box issues. I've been told she was the polar opposite of myself in disposition—whatever that means.

She was Gramma's first pet and Gramma's girl. They adored each other. One of her favorite napping places—besides Gramma's lap—was her big Raggedy Ann doll.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Faith shared Gramma's water cup during the night until Gramma saw her using it.  During the day, she loved jumping up on the sink and ordering any human who was around to turn on the faucet for her.

A little girl, who never weighs much more than 7 lbs, the vet always accused them of starving her. That was far from the truth since she was free fed. Her favorite food was turkey breast luncheon meat. She was addicted and would eat up to a quarter of a pound a day. These days TW knows the dangers of that sort of diet so I'd never be that lucky.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Faith received her angel wings when she was 16 years old, finally succumbing to renal cancer. She was totally loved and I'm sure she and Gramma are happily together again.
