The peeps took a walk in the hood today. They said there's a lot of houses that lost shingles and one unit in our complex has a hole through the window. All the local stores and restaurants are still closed because they don't have power. Even Pathmark was closed cos their generator had died. We're still having sporadic outtages of internet, phone and cable but we're one of the lucky ones. After all, a good portion of our town is underwater and is a disaster area.
Halloween came and went. We had about 22 trick and treaters. Usually when the doorbell rings, I run UTB unless it's dinner time cos sometimes the peeps will get takeout. I was intrigued by the little humans all dressed up in colorful costumes and came to the door to welcome them. Come to think of it, they came around dinner time so maybe I thought they were bringing ME food. HAH!
In case, you're wondering what Stunning Keisha got her Pop for his birthday, wonder no more.

We sure are glad you all are all right. It is so horrible seeing all the pictures and hearing all the sad stories. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteCK, you and your family really are lucky - your home is intact and you (mostly) have power. I hope things start getting back to normal for your town soon!

ReplyDeleteThat is one cool Pop present CK! I love your calendar photo, let's eat!
ReplyDeleteHave a great November!
ReplyDeleteWe are so glad you made it through Sandy OK, CK. You are so right about how much wore it was in other places. We expect you Pop is in for a long dragged out problem regarding getting to and from work in Manhattan. That is not an easy problem to solve.
ReplyDeleteWe don't like our cold house, and our humans don't either, and doing without power is a pain, but they can go to my Mom's work place to power up their electronics, and go on the internet a bit, and so many people are so much worse off.
Stay well.
