The Olympus Captures My True Stunningness

The Olympus Captures My True Stunningness

It's not Friday but what the hey. It's still time to give the randomizer a workout. There are 71 fotos in the cue. Which ones will come out this week? Will it be yours? Turns out today's crop are all fairly recent—at least to TW they're fairly recent. For me, they were taken decades ago.

The first two were taken on the Olympus, which is an older camera that takes far better fotos. As par for TW, she likes using the Canon even though she places the blame on The Cat when the fotos come out blurry or grainy. Something about me not liking the Olympus cos it's got a red light that shines before the foto is taken. She says I run sometimes when I hear her turn it on. I think she's just jealous of my stunningness so she doesn't want to take good fotos. Enough about that. Let's get to the fotos.

It’s no big secret how my peeps refuel their ancient, tired bodies after daily power walks. Pop eats protein bars like there’s no tomorrow and TW, well, she’s addicted to coffee. Unfortunately being fit isn't something that they'll ever achieve, especially TW. Cats can't drink coffee or eat protein bars but I can refuel along with them. I keep fit and trim by getting the zoomies and eating the right food.

Come Into my Parlor

Come Into my Parlor

Yo kittehs! The past few weeks I've been playing around with some one-click ipawd apps so I thought I'd change it up just a bit and go back to good ol' Photoshop. This art is better suited for your parlor rather than a studio so come in to my faux parlor for a closer look-see.

TGIFFF

TGIFFF

Welcome to Friday. I hope you're all recovered from walking the plank, scrubbing poop decks, drinking rum and meowing like a pirate the other day. Thank you all for the wonderful Blogoversary fishes wishes last week. Plus thanks to you I have so many more Foto Frenzy choices for Mr. Randomizer. He picked some stunning ones this week.

For the Ones Who Didn't Make It #RememberMeThursday

For the Ones Who Didn't Make It #RememberMeThursday

When I was a young cat in the shelter, I often looked up to the elderly, gristled cats who had been in there forever. I had been on Companion Animal Placement's petfinder.com page for many months and was wondering if I'd end up like them. I'd go to adoption events, only to be brought back to the shelter. Many nights I'd pray to Ceiling Cat that I wouldn't have to die in a shelter like many cats do. Tomorrow is Remember Me Thursday, the day we set aside to think of and remember those cats.

Don't Touch Me There … or There

Don't Touch Me There … or There

It's time once again to delve into the pamphlet Happy Cat Happy You since September is Happy Cat Month according to the CATalyst Council. These quick tips for building a bond with your feline friend are suggested by the authors at the Catnip Newsletter and compiled for Tufts Institute. This is a series that and I'm running which is not sponsored by anyone. I'm just offering my stunning opinions.

TW Drives Me to Abstraction

TW Drives Me to Abstraction

HAH! I double dare you to come up with a better title for my Caturday art this week. Wipe your paws before you come into the studio. I just rented it for the week. As you can see from the paint splotches on my chapeau, I've been working hard at my craft. This kitteh is going through her abstract art period so you can say I was driven to abstraction. Who better to drive me but TW.

Seven Years of Fotos

Seven Years of Fotos

Seven years of blogging down the drain. Yeah, it's my Blogoversary but there's nothing much to celebrate. Seven years out of both TW and my life. Seven years when TW's been too busy on the computer to play with me during the kitten years of my life. Seven years without a clean house. Seven years of posing. Seven years flushed down the toilet.

This Kitteh is NOT Crazy for Nip

This Kitteh is NOT Crazy for Nip

Furrends, I just noticed that TW has a pamphlet on the couch entitled Happy Cat Happy You: Quick Tips for Building a Bond with Your Feline Friend, which is put out by the editors of the Catnip newsletter. Perhaps your human has the same pamphlet. TW and I have built a better relationship recently but it has nothing to do with any advice pamphlet. IN FACT, I'm starting a series to debunk all those facts as they relate to me. I know my situations don't apply to the average cat.

15 Years Later. We Never Forget

Every September 11 since I started blogging I’ve rerun this piece Pop wrote because, thankfully, I have new readers who may not have read it. Although a decade and a half have past since these terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in NYC, the Pentagon in DC and Shanksville, PA, both Pop and TW can recall the events of that terrifying day as if it was yesterday. Pop still shudders when a low-flying plane passes the condo and TW remembers the uncertainty of not being able to contact Pop for 12 long hours. She can still hear the anguished cries of her co-workers who had friends and loved ones working in the WTC as they watched the buildings crumble and disappear from their office window. I’m not trying to be overly dramatic; I’m just reporting the facts. It was too close for comfort for both my peeps.

TW has been to several 9/11 memorials and masses over the past 15 year. Some of today's photos were taken at last year's local memorial. She promises some day to jot down her memories which are just as fresh today as 15 years ago.

Tribute Art From the Heart

Tribute Art From the Heart

Today I'm unveiling a very special work of art. I've been painting this for a few weeks. It holds a very special meaning for my peeps so I wanted to get every brush stroke right. Tomorrow I hope to unveil a similar piece that likewise captures a feeling as much as an image.

Funny Bloopers R Us

Funny Bloopers R Us

It's the second Friday of the month so I'll be sharing some bloopers with you after our regularly scheduled program. Who doesn't love seeing bloopers—those pics that normally would get deleted before they'd ever be posted on a blog. Did I move? Did TW move? Who caused the screw-up this month?

Mr. Fix-It or Ms. Fix-It?

Mr. Fix-It or Ms. Fix-It?

It's no secret that Pop ain't a Mr Fix-It. When it comes to fixing something or putting something together, we can always count on TW to come to his rescue. Dunno if it's dumb luck or she just got skills.

I Have a PhD in Human Psychology

I Have a PhD in Human Psychology

Cats are smart. Of course we are or else we'd be dogs. MOL! That said I've been reading some disturbing things on my furrends' blogs recently calling into question how smart we are. Most cats I know have a PhD or some kind of degree in Human Psychology.

Something Old, Something New and Blue

Something Old, Something New and Blue

That's about the size and shape of my art this week. I knew I couldn't possibly top last week's psychedelic art so TW chose to throw something together that would look fun in my gallery. All the original pics were taken atop a tree that I didn't use much that wound up at A Call 4 Paws. Chances are I won't be donating the art.

Climbing Up the Tree of Pain

Climbing Up the Tree of Pain

The Tree of Pain was the very first cat tree that came into La Casa Keisha. I named it to reflect how much pain I like to inflict upon TW. If'n she plays or teases me while I'm up on this tree, I will make her pay with both my sharp teeth and claws. I love my ToP. It's a great place to whap rockets down in mid-air or I can just lay here and look out the window.
