Gramma’s Ghost

Gramma’s Ghost

Whoa! Have I got a Halloween ghost story for you today! Wish I could say I read it in a book but this is a true story about ghosts. Hope it doesn’t scare your peep too much.

My Pop has a police scanner. He listens before he turns in for the night or when he hears sirens outside. The other night he went to bed and turned on his scanner. Then he called out to TW that a call had come in from their old house.

Someone reported hearing unusual crashing noises coming from the downstairs apartment. When the po po arrived, they found a person unresponsive on the floor with facial trauma. Don’t ax me how, but Pop fell asleep without finding out the deets like if the person fell or was the victim of foul play so TW made up her own ending. Perhaps Gramma’s Ghost pushed someone down a flight of stairs.

Lemme give you some background on Gramma’s Ghost.

Gramma was healthy all her life which is why it was upsetting when she suddenly took ill. After a couple of late night trips to the ER, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Gramma’s Ghost
Looks like Gramma brought Faith with her for her haunting.
The peeps couldn’t stay home from work to care for her cos Family Leave hadn’t been invented yet so they hired a full-time nurse at great expense to care for her. I don’t think Gramma ever forgave them for it. Still, she wanted to stay at home and not some hospital.

Gramma passed somewhat peacefully in her own bed with Autumn laying on the pillow next to her. The peeps had the task of cleaning out her apartment and getting it ready to rent out. That was when Gramma’s Ghost first appeared.

People thought TW was crazy—well, crazier than she is—when she mentioned it. She’d leave something on the table and the next day it would be gone or moved across the room. The next tenants who moved in mentioned similar experiences every once in a while.

The peeps sold the house and moved on. Almost a decade later, they ran into their old neighbor at I-Hop. They got to talking and catching up when the neighbor mentioned a woman who lived in Gramma’s old apartment. She mentioned that the neighbor told her there was a ghost who lived in the apartment with her. The woman told the neighbor detailed stories of the ghost who she described as a nice Italian lady. TW shook her head. Yep, there indeed was a ghost and that would be Gramma.

Do you believe in ghosts and if so are any living with you?

  1. We think dere might be a ghost in dis house - things have a way of disappearing and then reappearing where da peeps spent hours already looking.

There wuz definitely a ghost in da house my momma lived in as a lil girl - some VERY weird stuff happened there!

  2. Wow! There SHOULD be a ghost living in our house, or if there is the humans aren't sensitive to it because somebody KILLED themselves in the garage before the house belonged to them. It was an ex-boyfriend of the previous owner. They are supposed to disclose that type of thing when they sell the house, but they didn't and my human didn't find out until years later. She doesn't care, though. She says she is haunted by ghosts as it is.

  5. Wow! That's a cool story!!! We definitely believe in ghosts. Mommy knows a ghost girl from when she was little, and the ghost girl is probably one of Mommy's great-aunts. Our angel kitties come visit us now and again, and so does our Grammy who is a ghost now. We've all seen them!

  6. Oh CK, TW and I would have a blast exchanging ghost stories, I think!! I do believe in ghosts, and I have had many experiences with them. I believe as I develop my intuition and learn how to tap into it, I'll be more sensitive to the spirits around me.

I lived in a "haunted" house. There was a man ghost who used to sit by my bed when I was very young, and it really scared me! My dad has seen a woman ghost and has heard a baby ghost, so I think an entire family still lives in that house. I have had many other experiences that I would love to discuss with TW sometime if she's interested.

  8. Very interesting. I do believe in ghosts. I lived in a very old house growing up and the rest of my family all have stories of hearing things, but I never did. I guess the ghost didn't want to interact with me.

  13. Mommy thinks ghosts (or some type of residual energy from humans) exists. She watches that show Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel. When ur humans first moved into our house (which is now 103 years old) over 30 years ago, Mom and Dad thought there was a ghost. But if there ever was, it has moved on. Mom, however, saw our angel Madison in the garden one time after he had passed away. Maybe TW should go back to the old house and visit Gramma. Great story for meyowl-o-ween! 18. Well, my Human says she is not a believer, but I myself think there might be something to all this, & sometimes I am sure I see things that the Human does not.

Oh, and the Wooly Pig is just a cafe not a theater. They was filming a little cafe scene. We don't think it was like a real movie-movie though--just someone's little indie project prolly. But still: they coulda invited me to be in it!

  20. That is super cool and scary at the same time. My family has had some weird encounters that I've been told about, but we don't have any ghosts.

  21. Spooky, but cool! Hopefully Grandma is a happy ghost!

I'm pretty sure when I was little my Grandma's ghost haunted me, except instead of haunting, she just used to hang out with me when I was scared and I could smell her perfume.

  22. What a great story.....perfectly timed for Howl-o-ween too! We definitely believe in spirits/ghosts......I know I see a lot of stuff my humans do NOT see.....and I know my Mom says she's had some "visitors" she's HEARD but not actually seen in our house. I think there's a lotta stuff out there that we just don't know a lot about......not scary really - just interesting!!

    Hugs, sammy
