Let's begin on Wednesday.
Wednesday TW baked some pies while The Cat "went to work" with Pop. She doesn't use the ready-made pie filling. She uses plain pumpkin so she can spice it the way she likes. The Cat still can't eat it.
Thanksgiving Day morning was spent playing with TW in my the Tower of Power. Have I mentioned how much I love my latest cat tree?
Then it was TURKEY TIME. I rubbed all over Pop while he was carving but, of course, TW had to show up and force me to rub all over her. I even got a Thanksgiving plate to eat my turkey although I preferred to take it out of the plate to eat it.
After I had my pound of da burd, I sacked out. That turkey put me out like a light. I didn't even wake up for my 4 p.m. feeding. I slept right through it.
Life sure is good for a former ghetto kitteh named Keisha.
Once again, I'm gonna start with the Friendly Fill-Ins, a feature held once a week at this time. Let's meet our hosts—15andmeowing and Four Legged Furballs. They think up the fill-ins and I fill in the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics with further comments in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it relates loosely to #2!
1. Black Friday online sales are cool however you won't catch Pop or TW visiting the mall. Back before Black Friday became Black Friday TW used to always go to the mall to start her shopping. It was her once-yearly visit to the mall after all, she worked in NYC so she had lunchtime access to lots of great shopping.
2. A pet peeve of
3. 'Tis the season for giving to The Cat. For those who feel the need to go further, it's the season for giving. TW has a big bag of clothes to bring to the homeless shelter in town and some cat food to donate to UCFCC. She also has some sheets and towels to donate to the new shelter a few towns away.
4. I never jumped on the Queen bandwagon. We're just gonna go with this since the Queen movie just came out. The only Queen single TW has is "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" which didn't really sound like Queen. We usually don't jump on bandwagons; we prefer to be trendsetters. Years before R.E.M. became famous, TW used to bring a tape—told you it was long ago—to listen to while the dentist was doing his thing. He liked to ax her who she was listening to. Then "The One I Love" became a hit and the dentist said he was the only one of his friends who knew who they were cos of her.
How would you answer these fill-ins?
We got turkey on Thanksgiving too! The nice woman where my human had her dinner gave her some to take home to us!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great Thanksgiving, CK! We're with you on fill in #2 ... our humans think in-store Black Friday shopping is scary!
ReplyDeleteWe had fun reading about your lively thanksgiving and LOVE your "Tower of Power!" It's a lot more elegant than our ratty old tower and we're going to lean on "someone" to get us a nice one like yours!
ReplyDeleteThe Mall is a fun place to people-watch, but I prefer shopping at small local stores. Being in NYC must have been pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the most out of your Thanksgiving, you sure are pretty in your Tower of Power Keisha!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got your turkey. I don't like crowds so you won't find me out and about on Black Friday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Thanksgiving you had! I wish you a belated Happy Thanksgiving! CK, I am very thankful that I have you as a furrend! We did NOT have Turkey on Canadian Thanksgiving. I sure wish WE had!
ReplyDeleteAnd I must tell you, me and Mom really enjoyed you fill-ins!

The only place our folks go on Black Friday is Petsmart. We demand high quality cat litter or Lilly Catmousekey will pee EVERYWHERE. Crazy cat! Otherwise it's all online shopping for us! Agreed on #2. Purrs
ReplyDeleteYou sure had a fun day CK and we enjoyed those answers too. Our peeps never go to the mall any more.
ReplyDeleteKitty,
ReplyDeleteYou have to be careful. The people put a special sleepy medicine in the turkey. Some don't eat the turkey and while the others are sleeping, they slip out to all the Black Friday specials. That way there is less competition for that special G.I. Joe with the Kungfu Grip.
Have a blessed week.
Sounds like you had a great holiday! Mudpie didn't have a bite of turkey, believe it or not. She just doesn't go for people food...except for a few tastes of sour cream :)
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks delicious! I love pumpkin pie. Sounds like a great Thanksgiving at your house!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a pawsome Thanksgiving, CK. Our peeps went somewhere else for dinner, so we didn’t get any turkey! Phooey!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got some turkey on a fancy plate :) Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am glad my state doesn't allow stores to open on Thanksgiving. I do feel bad for workers that have to be there to open at 1 am though. You are definitely a trendsetter. Have a nice weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteLOVED this post! I am like you with the pie, I always want to season it myself. You also won't catch me shopping on Black Friday. Many years ago I waitressed in a mall and that was my first experience with Black Friday...I vowed I would NEVER go shopping that day and I never have. I love your turkey plate for CK!! OMC soooo cute!!! I also loathe the stores that are open on Thanksgiving, I think it is deplorable!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about stores being open on Thanksgiving. That is a peeve of mine, too. I think everyone should be able to be home with their families, not forced to work due to corporate greed.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend. :)
That pie looks delicious. I agree about stores being open on thanksgiving. People need to be able to stay home and enjoy their family.
ReplyDeleteCK, you delight with your Thanksgiving photos. Mom says she also likes the fonts you have chosen to use as well for them. Mom says when my auntie, brought home a Queen album, Mom like to listen to it, too. She has many fav Queen songs and she is hoping to go see the movie with a pal. I wonder if Freddy Mercury owned pussycats. Hmm . . . I'll have to do some research on that . . . Purrs. -Valentine (& Mom) of Noir Kitty Mews
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving sounds like it was a turkey-filled success, CK! And that's exactly as it should be. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! You are such a wise kitty, so your answers are always purrfection. This here human also never ventures out on Black Friday. It's way better to stay home and spoil the kitties. After all, how could said kitties snack on leftover turkey if the human isn't home? Purrs!
ReplyDeleteWe got plenty of turkey here. Actually, Momma fed us a ton before she ever ate any of hers. That's a good Momma for you!
