Our Exciting Off Week Plus Fill-Ins.

Hola kitties! We had too many strangers and too much excitement in the condo last week. Christos-Ramos Cooling—the names have been changed to protect the guilty—came by to perform their Abbot and Costello routine which innerupted MY routine. At least now we have ac again after some stressful moments.

Our Exciting Off Week Plus Fill-Ins.

There was lots of banging followed by "oops" followed by HBO words. Finally after many hours, they declared the ac up and running so they turned it on and started to take their stuff downstairs. The system barely went on when the CO detector started going nutz. With all the banging and vibration going on in the furnace room where the ac unit is, TW had been afraid they were going to loosen a pipe somewhere.

Our Exciting Off Week Plus Fill-Ins.
So what did Pop do? He unplugged the CO detector and started to take the batteries out. TW yelled at him that this was serious and he shouldn't unplug it. This could be a real emergency. CALL 911. She opened the windows. Then she started to pass out but caught herself and made it out of the unit.

She wasn't sure Pop would call 911 so she axed the concierge to do it. He had a contractor who was there turn off our gas meter. Then FD came along with EMS who checked TW out. Pop didn't know the gas was off when they came and got no readings at all.

After they left, Pop called the gas company to turn our meter back on so we'd have hot water and we could use the stove but they couldn't come until the next day. It was good that they were the ones who turned it on cos they tested everything and waved their magic CO detector wand all around our unit. They said there must've been a little gas in the pipe that leaked when it was reconnected. I must say I kinda liked the PSEG guy cos I came out of my office to snoopervise.

Our Exciting Off Week Plus Fill-Ins.

The Friendly Fill-Ins are hosted each and every week by 15andmeowing and new co-hosts Four Legged Furballs. They think up the fill-ins and I think up the answers. My answers are underlined and in italics. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it relates to numbers one and two.

1. I TW spends at least 12 hours per day online. She be spending most of that time writing this blog, editing photos and commenting but she wastes copious amounts of times on Spacebook. I have to make sure the Spacebook tab is closed if I want anything done.

2. When I go online, I use my 11-year-old Mac cos we never could set up the new one and get the Carbonite to restore our files. That's a different post for another time. We're gonna try something sneakier like getting Uncle Vince to help out.

3. Mother's Day means nothing to me altho I did offer TW a great deal on bites. Buy one, get two free! Pop forced made me give her some chocolates.

4. I wish I had a lot more blog followers. Sometimes I feel like we're just doing a personal diary that a select few read. I wish there was a way to grow my following without selling my soul. Of course having a lot more money would help too cos contrary to what you've heard, money does buy happiness.

Hope your week wasn't half as exciting and stressful as mine.

Would you like to comment?

  1. Wow, that was quite a week, and you and your humans must be glad it's over! At least the PSEG guy was decent... otherwise you wouldn't have graced him with your presence.

  2. Cathy,

With the heat moving in, it's a good thing you got your AC fixed. Whew, it was a hot one all weekend long with temps in the low 90s. Thankfully, it was bit breezy to keep it from feeling really horrible. It seems like we jumped from winter to summer, though. It's hard to build a loyal reader base but I get where you're coming from wanting a larger following base. Those old Macs are quite dependable, aren't they? I'd still be using my MacBook Air had it not develop a battery problem. Did you get your new computer set up? If you have your old Mac set up to do Time Machine then your new Mac should be able to do a restore via WiFi if you don't have Time Machine on an external HD. I can't recall how I did it when I moved from my air to my iMac now but I'm thinking that's what I did and it took a bit for the migration to complete. Have a good day. I'm listening to your playlist from last Monday this morning. Have a purrtastic week, my friend!

  3. Phew! That was too much excitement for one week. I am glad everything is safe and working now. I am glad TW yelled at Pop when he was going to disconnect the CO alarm. It has a very important purpose!

  4. My goodness CK, what an ordeal and then some, but at least you have the AC back. Good luck with the big Mac attack!

  5. Wow, that's not the kind of excitement you like to have at the condo! We've had our share of repair people invade our space too. Katie has been a little more brave with them and has graced them with a "look." Waffles is more interested in their tool bags. ; ) We hope this week is a little more UN-eventful!

  6. It's a good thing that TW made Pop put the batteries back in the CO detector. CO is very dangerous. I hope you can eventually get your new computer up and running.

  7. Must be the week for repair men. We had someone come to fix the water softener and what Mom calls "creative" plumbing that they did using a proprietary connector that she couldn't replace from the hardware store.
Living without A/C would be miserable, so it's great that yours was fixed early in the season.
I don't know much about getting blog followers. I think we have about 20. We blog mostly for fun, so Mom is thankful that even that many people take the time to read about us.

  8. Wow, that was quite the week, CK. We sure hope stuff like that doesn’t happen again. After all, your valuable napping time was interrupted.

  10. That sounds awful. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am sure you have a lot more blog followers that I do. It doesn't seem fair though, you should be making more than Grumpy cat for all that you do. That was sweet of you to give chocolates to TW. XO

  13. Good grief! What a week! And our Mom was complaining about our whap/pee-fest in which NOBODY ALMOST DIED! So glad things sound like they are very much improved, or at least, we sure hope so!

Great fill-ins! We really like Number 3 and *sigh* we think the same about Number 4. Mom figures she likes her soul too much, too.

  14. Ma cherie CK, What a wild and crazy week you have had! I had some adventures too but of course the Human was off at work so she doesn't even believe me when I tell her what happened while she was gone. But she ain't gonna be gone much longer: 12 days till graduation and then she has to "work" part of the summer but she goes in at like 10:30 and leaves at 1:00 or 2:00, ha ha ha. That is *too* a workday she says!
OF COURSE you have been in my ManCat Cave, darling--I mean, over the years you've been EVERYwhere here in the castle, amirite? I've been biting the Human a lot lately. Maybe you're a bad influence on me? Heh heh. XOXOXOXOXO

  19. Whew, just reading about all this craziness made us feel exhausted. We can't imagine how you all must feel, CK! We sure hope this all settles down real soon.

Your fill-ins always make us laugh, CK. In a good way, of course! We bet those were love bites you gave TW on Mother's Day. Right?

  20. MOL Oh CK, we kind'a agree that money can buy happiness. It can fur sure buy a lot more than thin air can. MOL We too wish we could grow our blog gollowin', but alas...we're just not sure how to do that. As fur the purrsonal diary stuffs, we know how ya' feel, but mommy says that even ifin that were the case, she'd be okay with it. Since losin' sis Lexi, she's so grateful to have a lot of those memories written down and saved furever. We're glad nopawdy got poisoned or hurt in all that turmoil you had there in the condo. And we're sure your peeps are happy to have hot water again. we know mommy sure was after our hot water heater sprang the leak. Big hugs fur all.

    Luv ya'
