Our first flashback foto #6661 was chosen by Lola the Rescued Cat! She shows excellent taste picking this stunning foto from May 2014. I often act like I have nothing to play with. TW likes to prove otherwise so she dumps some toys around me. These are some of my favorites. Moments after this foto was taken, I started playing with the little "beach ball" toy and my rockets. I do like to play like a kitten but it has to be inneractive. TW has to join me in my game whether it's to toss me the ball or shoot the rocket.
One of the only single digit numbers we had left was #4 from way back in June 2007, which was picked by Andrea and the Celestial Kitties. When they sold their house, Pop noticed that their artist neighbor was throwing out a few paintings. He was drawn to this one so it was gifted to him. They hung the tasteful nude at the back of the hall over the record shelves so it wouldn't be front and center. When I was a kitten, I used to jump up on those five-foot-high shelves. I wouldn't even break a sweat. I don't think I could get up there now but don't bet against me. I used to jump up on everything including doors. Nothing was too high. TW had the analog camera back then and didn't take too many fotos but she captured how comfy I look atop the records.
PRESENT
The Friendly Fill-Ins are hosted each and every week by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. They make up the fill-ins and I make up the answers. Today I let TW answer number three. Each week my image relates to one of the fill-ins. This week it's number two.
1. I would like to ask PeTA why do they hate companion pets so much but I'm afraid I know. I just saw this quote about PeTA's Ingrid Newkirk on the Huffington Post site. "Newkirk's seeming indifference to domestic dogs and cats is chilling. It is not simply that she kills them so easily. She just does not appear to like them very much: in her ideal world, 'eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship—enjoyment at a distance.'" You can read the entire piece here. TW used to belong to PeTA a long time ago until she started reading what they stood for.
2 My favorite fast food restaurant is Number One Chinese. I love Chinese food and this one is the closest to us. I'm going through the menus in the image to pick out what the peeps should order. TW is sticking her nose in here to ax if iHop counts as fast food cos she only eats the fish sandwiches at Burger King or Mickey Dee's once or twice a year.
3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be Bruce Springsteen. The boss always wins out with this Jersey girl. He's old and grizzled but he still knows how to rock. I've only seen him three or four times and he never disappoints. I tried to get tickets to his shows on Broadway but I'm sure even using the lottery method, scalpers got them all. Honorable mentions go to Soul Asylum and Patti Smith, both of whom I've seen many, many times. For years I went to two or three concerts/shows a week but I don't go anymore for lack of money and stamina. The last show I saw was Paul MacCartney at Yankee Stadium because I had to see at least one Beatle in concert in my lifetime. [CK: OK, Woman, shut up now. You said enough.]
4. My Winter pastime is usually sleeping, because TW is too busy doing nothing to play with me otherwise I'd be running around the condo. When the weather is cooler, it's perfect for zoomies. She's too busy doing nothing to play during the summer also but it's too hot to play even though the a/c is on.

This little ghetto kitteh might not be posting art on Caturday no more but I'm still creating daily. Every once and again I have a piece worthy of this blog. This is one of them. I find sketching is my true art passion, even better than painting. I autographed it for you too. I'm also sharing this on tomorrow's art blog hop hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty and her mum. You can see digital art created on one of the online apps, Photoshop art and art that is painted or drawn by those with true talent.
Thanks to those who participated by answering the 25 questions from Wednesday's blog. I had fun reading them. I'm working on some other questions.
You covered a lot of ground with this post, CK! I don't get the whole PETA thing, and why people like them at all. It's a very weird organization. I do have to say, they've done some good things, busting labs and cat hoarders, but in so many other ways, they just sound evil.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of pretty interesting subject you covered CK. Nice job. Great reporting sweetie. We agree on the PETA weirdos. Not our kind of people. Have a super Furriday! Purrs
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of past, present and future. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. That is shocking about PETA's Newkirk. I stopped donating to them years ago. That was nice of you to let TW answer #3 being that she is the music expert. Great choice of The Boss too. I hope you get that Chinese food. I am glad you will still be joining Athena's hop. Have a nice weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteAll y'all are looking pretty stunning CK!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, this disdain with animlas is far-reaching. There is a faction of today's society that wants to do away with animals in their immediate environment, as well. Eradicating animals is a mission, it seems. Saving them in one place to kill them in another is not working. Humans are not the best at balancing nature.
ReplyDeleteAs for flippant remarks made by famous people, they are just that: People. What we say affects others, and each situation is just as important. I cannot count the things famous people say that are hurtful. But, the ones closest to home are the most painful, to my experience. Words have power. We need to mind our own, because that is all we can do. Peace.
Very good post CK. I haven't been to visit for awhile. It's mom's fault. She seems to have seized up in the cold and anything takes her forever. Kali is as bad as she's seized up too. They make quite the pair1
ReplyDeleteWe were not aware of PETA's poor reputation for helping animals. Mom must look into some of their activities. Being in Canada we usually donate to Ducks Unlimited. Not so much Greenpeace anymore as mom doesn't always agree with their policies.
Something very interesting to mom is the Fish Burger that Burger King has.....she didn't know this either. Next time out, it's a stop at Burger King for a Fish Burger. I guess you don't have the White Spot in the States but they used to have a "Fishwich" burger that was out of this world mom says.
We also enjoyed your art.....very nicely done.
Shoko and Kali
It's always worth doing research on things! I once wanted to donate to a cat rescue, until I found out that they allow declawing, and I told them NO WAY!
ReplyDeleteYou did a super multi-tasking post!! We agree PETA has a very bad reputation now. We have a Number One Chinese place here too. Their sign says No 1 Chinese and Mom always reads it as No one Chinese. Mom is weird.

Bear's like that too. He might toss a mousie around a time or two by himself ... but he only really gets into it when I'm playing along. For a little while, I thought we could exercise at the same time (I run in place or do kicks or something) - but that freaked Bear out. Now, Ellie will play her little heart out without a care ... but Bear's more particular :)
ReplyDeleteAs far as we're concerned, CK, PETA is a pita.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of you on the records, CK! That quote from PETA is just horrific.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your photos and fill-ins. I've not heard of Number One Chinese but I do like Chinese food.
ReplyDeleteWell Ck, we snoozed and we losed. We didn't know anythin' 'bout the 25 things. But, we's gonna head over and check 'em out. We luv learnin' more 'bout our furiends. Da drawin' is great as are all da fotos. Big hugs

WoW CK! GREAT post! Such great pictures and story of where the picture in a picture came from, Such great fill-ins.
ReplyDeleteAnd PeTA well, lets say the human will NOT being sent an donations to them EVER!
Mom has only been to about 5 concerts in the last 30 years. There are not too many venues in a town of 650 (Like Midway) But she DID see U2. That rocked her world.
And Your ART! CK we are so furry happy to see your art!
It is wonderful!

We support animal rights and Mum is a vegan but she does NOT like PETA and has never supported them. Some of their ideas are just evil.
ReplyDeleteYour art is lovely!
Purrs xx

Long ago I came across peta article advocating vegan diet for cas. It’s animal cruelty! Their idea to save animals seems to be based on human ego and not nature.
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful art work :-) Happy weekend!
We love you in every dimension, CK❤ I can relate with the Winter sleep aka hibernation and Granny loves Bruce Springsteen. Your artwork is purrfect, you haven't change a bit👍Pawkisses for a Happy Caturday😘❤😻
ReplyDeleteAfter reading about them a few years ago, I realised that PETA was an organisation I could never support.
ReplyDeleteYour art is lovely, and you also look stunning on the records.
I've never been a fan of PETA and it just goes to show that what an organization markets on the surface can be very different from what they actually believe or do. We're very particular about which organizations we support.
ReplyDeleteLove your sketch, and you're definitely a talented artist.
Your answers cover interesting topics, CK. We're not friend with PeTa either. Purrs
ReplyDeletethat is a beautiful drawing of Keisha :)
ReplyDeleteGreat multi-subject post, CK! We love those flashbacks, and your fill ins totally rock. Bruuuuuuce! Yeah!
ReplyDeleteLove the #4 shot of you! And I don't get PETA either. Although I did visit their site the other day to see vegan-friendly foods at regular grocery stores. It was link I clicked on it took me there. It was a handy list.
