It’s no big secret how my peeps refuel their ancient, tired bodies after daily power walks. Pop eats protein bars like there’s no tomorrow and TW, well, she’s addicted to coffee. Unfortunately being fit isn't something that they'll ever achieve, especially TW. Cats can't drink coffee or eat protein bars but I can refuel along with them. I keep fit and trim by getting the zoomies and eating the right food.

I'm a Chewy Influencer so they try to keep me healthy cos, in a way, it reflects on them. This month they sent me Nulo Freestyle Salmon & Lentils Recipe Grain-Free Adult Trim Dry Cat Food (because TW requested it). Just saying the name of this food is exercise!

I am an athlete. Even my petfinder bio mentioned how athletic I was/am so let's just say this kitteh is an active cat who doesn't need to lose weight. I take offense at the thought that I do. My body is very muscular from all the running, jumping, climbing and playing I do daily. TW, on the other hand as if she should be speaking, says I'm not as active as I once was. Well—duh—that's cos she's so busy on the computer that she never plays with me. Am I supposed to amuse myself?

I digress. Take a look at the graphic for the benefits of the Nulo Freestyle Trim dry cat food recipes.

Nulo Freestyle dry cat food comes in four varieties: Chicken & Cod Recipe Grain-Free Dry Cat & Kitten Food, Duck & Lentils Grain-Free Indoor Dry Cat Food, Grain-Free Turkey & Duck Recipe Cat & Kitten Dry Cat Food, and the aforementioned Salmon & Lentil Recipe. For those wet food feeders Nulo Freestyle is available in six varieties of stinky goodness. If you have a cat who's sensitive to fish, please be advised that all wet and dry varieties contain fish. Also, I know some kitties react strangely to chicory which is in the dry recipes.

I took the taste test. I may have held the fact that it was diet food against it. Usually I love any kind of kibble but I was kinda lukewarm on the Nulo Trim. After the photo shoot, I didn't exactly run to my dry food dish when I wanted a snack. Perhaps I wanted a protein bar instead. Tomorrow this may be my favorite food ever. Don't let me dissuade you if you need to lose a few pounds and can eat all the ingredients. I bet you'll like it.

Shop at Chewy.com for all your pet needs. They have free one- to two-day shipping with customer service that can't be beat.

So how DO you refuel after a workout??

  2. Thank you for her honest review, CK! My kitties don't always do well with fish ingredients, so this food may not be the best choice for them. But I'm sure there are lots of kitties out there who would love this food and get purrfectly re-energized from it!

  8. You are quite the cathlete, CK! It is amazing how you are able to keep up with all of your duties as a cat - playing, eating, sleeping 12 hours per day, and taking care of your humans as well as putting together a stunning blog. :) That takes a lot of stamina! Manna and Dexter tend to recharge by doing some serious napping after they have worn themselves out!

  9. I'd never heard of this brand either. As much as Mudpie loves her kibble, she often finds some she doesn't care for. Personally, I'd choose the iced coffee to refuel ;)

  12. We've never heard of this brand before, CK. We don't eat a lot of dry food, only as a snack. We may check this one out.

  13. Hmmm. Something good for me? I generally object to that on general principle, but I have been a bit more open-minded about my foods lately, so who knows? Of course, if YOU came over and brought me a morsel or two, I might like it a LOT better . . .
