On this Memorial Day, let us thank those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Bless them for their service to keep us free. Let us reflect on their bravery and honor them as we spend a quiet moment at the cemetery. Let us pray their deaths weren't in vain. Let us pray for everlasting peace where no other person shall have to die in the name of peace. Amen.
To quote a mother who lost her son in Vietnam: “The only way we dishonor those who died is to learn nothing from them—to repeat the past and continue our present course of action.” I'll leave you with Neil Young's poignant "Living With War." I take a holy vow / not to kill again / Try to remember peace.
Peace be with you.
These are some very deep, and very needed, thoughts today, CK.

What a touching post, CK. We should all learn from those who gave their lives for others and never repeat the terrible past.
ReplyDeleteAgreed 100% and we need to honor those who have survived their military duty and are physically and or emotionally suffering i.e. PTSD.
ReplyDeleteI share your prayer CK. Maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteA very good post, CK. The missing man formation, as seen in the video, has got to be hard for a family to watch!

ReplyDeleteThat is a really deep post, CK. We are so very grateful for the brave souls who gave their lives for our freedom.
ReplyDeleteC.K. an excellent post for Memorial Day. It hurts our hearts to think of the more than 1.1 million Americans who have given their lives for our country. It is the least we can do to honor and remember them on this day. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
