Many moons ago I posted that TW was mean and wouldn’t let me open my Secret Paws. I had been communicating with my Secret Paw match—none other than SPITTY!—so he wouldn’t feel bad. Truth be told, I wasn’t feeling all that well leading up to Christmas and right after which was one of the reasons TW didn’t want to get me all excited. I was lethargic and not eating very much. I’d rather lay around than play.
The week before Christmas we were having Spring-like temperatures and the house was over 80 degrees. Even with the windows open, it was hot. Also between the rainy weather and the fact that he’d arrived almost a month earlier, Fraser was getting moldy. We’ve never had a tree like that. The needles and branches were still green and fresh but he started to smell like terrible pine-scented air freshener. It was pungent, acrid and permeating all corners of the condo. Finally, the day after Christmas TW told Pop Fraser had worn out his welcome and they had to send him packing. She was getting asthma symptoms so she knew I must be too. She had stayed up with me Christmas night. They’d never taken a tree down before the
After I blogged about not opening my prezzies, TW gave in to the pressure of my furrend’s comments, relented and opened them even though I was ill and not enjoying the ritual of posing with anything. I’m sorry, there aren’t more photos but, trust me, we appreciate everything King Spitty and his Human sent.
The package was huge and heavy. I think TW secretly wished it contained 10 lbs of Ghirardelli chocolate but that’s neither here nor there. It was all about ME not her although there were gifts for both her and even Pop. We/She got a pretty blue blankie that perfectly matches her robe and Pop got memorabilia of some SF sports teams. They both want me to thank Spitty’s human for thinking of them.
Upon opening the package, I found a handsome autographed photo of Spitty—be still my heart—and a card containing the smallest piece of Spitty.
The prezzies were all nicely wrapped. Spitty did a fine job of overseeing the wrapping. All gifts were wrapped in festive tissue paper; most were without tape so I could use the tissue for play without getting stuck to it.
I got tons of prezzies that I’m just beginning to enjoy. I got food (Wellness), treats (Greenies & Wellness Kittles), my own blankie, three kinds of nip and some toys.
I’m not even through yet! A few days after Christmas, a package of peacock feathers arrived! All the writing was in Chinese with no hint of who sent it. Several PM’s later, I had my answer: they were part of my Secret Paws!
One of the toys is heart-shaped and I’ve been tugging on Spitty’s heart strings since then.
Don’t be too worried about me. For the past week, I’ve had non-stop zoomies. I haven’t wanted to stop playing and TW has been devoting more time to me. I think she got scared when I wasn’t feeling well cos truth be told I’m not that young anymore. I’m sorry if our playing time has been cutting into my blog visiting time but now TW knows I’m not going to be around forever so she best cater to me while she can. I was at death’s doorstep but I’ve beaten death back.
PS: I have even funnier secret messages over at the Secret Paws’ site.
Glad ya are feelin better now CK. Looks like ya got some pawsome stuff.
ReplyDeleteWow, what awesome stuff you got from Spitty, how cool! We are so glad you are feeling better again, that's a relief!
ReplyDeleteAw, darling, I am so glad to hear you are feeling better and having the zoomies again! I love my radiator warms, but really hot weather--especially in the winter--just does me in. I hates it! I'm glad I told the Human not to use any tape on the tissue paper ;-) (but I guess she used her fair share on the outside!) It was fun being your Secret Paws!
ReplyDeleteThat really were awesome Secret Paws presents from Spitty! I'm so glad you're feeling better now so you can enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteWow, Spitty really went all out on you. The treats look super yummy, enjoy! Glad you are feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteThat was tons of nice stuff CK and we're sure glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteBFGF, I didn't know you were under the weather...TW did not tell Mom L...so I didn't know either. I, too, have not had zoomies nor wanted to play more than a moment or two for over two weeks. We are fearing I am, ahem..koff, koff...blocked up again.
ReplyDeleteAIIIIEEE!! Mom L hit the post button before I was done! Spitty and his human are the best, most thoughtful Secret Paw for sure. You will enjoy all your pressies now you feel better.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know you were poorly! But glad you are feeling better. The humans get very worried when we go quiet and lethargic! I think we can work it to our advantage though, cos they give you treats and stuff just to make us eat!! ;) Spitty is a very generous mancat!! Xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you weren't feeling well over Christmas, CK. You sure did get a pawsome Secret Paws package! Looks like Spitty knows you really well!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad TW is spending extra quality time with you. Even at Mudpie's young age I try to remember to cherish each and every moment. Truffles showed me that age really doesn't mean anything...you just never know what's going to happen.
I'm sorry you were not feeling well around Christmas. Glad you are better now. The present from Spitty looks wonderful! How thoughtful he got present for your pawrents, too. That's a lot of yummy stuff...maybe he does like ladycats to be a bit chubby, haha :-)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you haven't been feeling well lately, but very relieved you are feeling better now. I haven't been feeling so good lately either. We could have snuggled together as we recovered.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great package that Spitty and his human put together for you. It was worth the wait.
Spitty really did give you the royal treatment.I am glad you are feeling well enough to have the zoomies.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you weren't feeling well. It's good that you are getting back to your feisty self! Spitty certainly spoiled you - as you deserve of course!
ReplyDeleteBoy, did Spitty outdo himself or what! I like his hair in an envelope.....cool. That's what I'm going to do next year...send a little bit of me with each prezzie. If I run out of fur, Kali has tons to give away to new homes.
