Cats with sensitive tummies can eat Natural Balance grain-free cat food and I’ll tell you why
Did I dream it or did I really go to PetSmart for the arrival of Natural Balance cat food?

Last month I reported live from PetSmart® when Natural Balance® made it’s big debut. I’m happy to see some of you have taken my advice and stopped in to purchase some for yourselves. Today I’m gonna give you some reasons why you should be joining those who have especially if your cat has a sensitive stomach.

Lemme give you some deets on Natural Balance. Founded back in 1989, the company is run on the philosophy of providing pets and their owners with Food For a Lifetime.® Their goal was simple: to create a pet food based on sound scientific principles and nutritional truth.

The Natural Balance cat food consists of six different lines because every cat is unique and has different needs. They have formulas with limited ingredients for sensitive tummies, grain-free since cats don’t process carbs from grains, weight management for tubby tabbies, indoor cats, healthy skin & coat and healthy digestion. I’m going to be spotlighting some of those grain-free lines today.

Can you tell how much I like all my grain-free Natural Balance cat food?

I can’t recommend the Wild Pursuit™ kibble highly enough for those kitties allowed to eat kibble. It’s a personal favorite of mine since our last PetSmart shopping trip. Each bag features a combination of three different exotic protein sources combined with grain-free carbohydrates that mimic the well balanced diet of cats in the wild without any artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. My favorite part are the freeze-dried raw morsels. At first I ate around them but now I gobble them up first. TW has noticed that this kibble doesn’t give me itchies like most kibble does.

It’s worth mentioning that for kitties allergic or sensitive to fish (GASP!) that the Chicken, Turkey Meal & Quail formula doesn’t contain fish in any way, shape or form.

Most of my furrends eat only stinky goodness so I’m gonna give you the 411 on their lines that are carrageenan-free so they won’t cause inflammation in your cat’s GI tract. It’s so important that Natural Balance has these formulas that are safe for kitties with IBD and sensitive tummies. Yes, even CK was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome when I was a young ‘un.

I’m awake now. You can open the stinky goodness.

The first is their Delectable Delights® stews which comes in six flavors with such adorable names as  O’Fishally Scampi®, Purrfect Paella®, Life’s a Beach®, Catatouille®, Land ’n' Sea Catsserole® and the one TW bought me, Sea Brûlée®. Like all the product lines I’m mentioning, it’s grain-free. Sea Brûlée® contains tuna, whitefish and carrots in a delectable gravy. TW loves it cos it contains 83% moisture since I don’t drink water.

The Sea Brûlée was a big hit with this little ghetto kitteh.

The Natural Balance Platefulls® formulas provide complete and balanced meals for adult cats and are great for your cat’s skin and furs. TW takes a lot of photos of me and I want to have the shiniest furs I can have without them looking greasy. Like the stews, foods in this line don’t contain corn, soy, wheat or artificial flavors/colors. I found the chunks of meat to be a little big for my liking—can you believe TW refused to cut them up for me?—but the gravy was very tasty.

  3. There are 2 flavors of the Wild Pursuit that Molly Mew will actually eat. We keep them in stock at the house just in case we run out of tuna. It just so happens that those are the 2 flavors I also like.

  9. Carmine likes the Natural Balance we've added to his stinky goodness rotation. He loves the limited ingredient chicken and green pea one the best, I think. It's great that they have the limited ingredient line for cats like Carmine with IBD. I bought them some of the stews, but they haven't tried those yet.

I didn't know there was a weight management line. I'll have to keep an eye out for that for Lita. Our PetSmart doesn't have a ton of variety yet, but they said they will get more as time goes on.

  17. I have 2 with allergies that eat the venison and pea canned food. I never thought to get the dry food, I will do that.

  18. We also like the ingredients, except I don't eat anything fishy and I am a pate girl all the way. I won't even lick the gravy. Now TKS, she eats everything and likes fish and all things chunky. We have some NB packets in the cupboard. Great BFGF. As always, so thorough

  20. I have to echo Savvy's comment - thorough You Does it! I appreciate all the details because there are some things maybe just a few cats are sensitive too, (carrageenan, fish, whatever) and knowing natural Balance has us covered is a relief. Some pet Mums and dads find the science intimidating - you tell it so we an understand! Thanks,

    Silver
