When I saw this week’s PhotoHunt theme, I thought I was going to have to learn to play cards. Isn’t Bridge some kind of card game? Then I remembered Pop’s favorite kind of “cheap” supermarket candy was Bridge Mix and we just happened to have some in the condo. From what I’ve heard, Bridge Mix is some candy that only old people have ever heard of. It’s got chocolate covered nuts, raisins and malted balls. Can you tell I’m biting on the bag?
I’m once again participating in the Caturday Art Blog Hop over at Athena, Cat Goddess. It’s a new way to have fun and showcase our creativity. When TW used to take really crappy photos of me, instead of deleting them, she used the filters on Photoshop to turn them into artworks. This one looks sorta looks like a paint-by-number piece. It was her way of experimenting with a program she knew next to nothing about. I’m not sure what filter she used on this one but, trust me, it’s better than the original shot.
Mmmm, bridge mix.
ReplyDeleteMy human used to eat her grandmother's bridge mix, but since then she has gotten all snobby about chocolate and only eats DARK chocolate, and generally only eats truffles!
ReplyDeleteThose photo effects and filters start to get REALLY cool if you start combining them. My human has been messing around with them for a while now and having fun.
Clever with the bridge idea CK and we love your arty portrait. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
CK my totally ancient Mom remembers Bridge Mix....she used to swipe it from the candy dish when HER Mom had her bridge parties in fact.....she says it was tasty stuff - I say I'd rather have a nip nanner any day.

Looking good CK! Nice bunch of bridges too!
ReplyDeleteClever bridge idea! The head peep says she didn't know they still sold bridge mix.

Mommy says she has never heard of Bridge Mix...maybe they never made their way to our shores?
ReplyDeleteThat's very smart to use filters on not so nice photos. :)
Never had bridge mix chocolates but sound yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love your art work. Very pretty!
ha ha - love your Bridge theme - very creative. Also love your art work - you are just so creative over there with everything - including words. I joined today too.
ReplyDeleteMommy says that anything covered in chocolate must be good. Personally, I think one should only eat truffles :) --Truffles
ReplyDeleteOur mommy loves dark chocolate bridge mix from See's. She and her step-mom used to sit and watch TV and eat it by handfuls. Unfortunately, she went over the human bridge. We thinks your art for today is so super. What program did your mom use? Purrs and paw-pats, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteMOL, love that you're biting the bag!
ReplyDeleteAnd CK darling, ANY picture of you is a work of art! We do like that one though, very cool looking!
We like that pic of you, CK. It's very cool!
ReplyDeleteWe did the Art Hop this week too! Our Mom is really old and remembers Bridge Mix too.

Bridge Mix!! Of COURSE the Human knows what Bridge Mix is! It's what her mother and her lady friends served at real genuine 1950s & '60s BRIDGE PARTIES! Now the Human and her friends eat a bunch of other stuff when they play bridge. She hasn't seen actual bridge mix in donkey's years & she wonders if it is still available around here anywhere.
ReplyDeleteWe like your paint by numbers piece, great picture!
ReplyDeleteMy mom-person prefer the chocolate bridge mix , but me of course prefers YOU , CK <3
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Mommy loves chocolate. She remembers bridge mix. And still loves chocolate malted balls! She never played bridge. Guess that makes her only sorta old?
ReplyDeleteOh My Cat. Our Dads Mom loved that too! Maybe he will get some so we can try it
