Today, we had an ice storm. First we got a ton of snow and then the sleet and freezing rain came. This is what our window screens looked like when we got up. Actually, the glass panes without the screens were frozen when Pop’s alarm went off. I convinced him he needed to stay home cos I didn’t want him breaking his elbow again. It’s bad enough he’s got all kinds of complications from when he broke it several years ago and may eventually need a fake elbow.
Here’s a better look at our frozen screens.
Pop thought the weather would get better once the Super Bowl was over but that hasn’t happened. We had snow Monday, ice this morning and we’re expecting a Nor’easter Sunday. I know I shouldn’t complain cos it’s bad all over the country, but since everyone else is complaining, I figured I’d pile on. I know that’s a 15-yard penalty for unsportsman-like conduct. It’s my blog and I’ll pile on if I want to.
I have one word for Ma Nature and her climate change. Pffftttt!
Mother Nature has been a little irritating this year, hasn't she?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we hear ya, CK. This has been a darn tough winter so far!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Pop stayed home with you today. :)
We second that Pfffft! Stay warm and cozy, CK.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
We're glad to hear that your Pop stayed home and warm with you today with the crazy weather.
ReplyDeleteThis has been the worst winter for most of my friends!
ReplyDeleteYou tell 'em CK. Of course if you stuck your tongue out here it would freeze solid. It's been well below zero for days.
ReplyDeleteOh man CK, what an ordeal. I sure remember when your Pop broke his elbow. OMC, that was so horrible
ReplyDeleteI admit I love snow but ice is just the worst!!!
ReplyDeleteSweetie, we totally agree with you! We're tired of the colds! We want to complain about the hots for a while now, thank you! MOL
ReplyDeleteYou're right - Mother Nature has been off her meds this year. We just got another 6 inches of snow and more is coming this weekend. :P It doesn't seem like it is ever going to end. You and I can both be thankful that we have nice warm places to live in though. I love that last photo!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like Brrrrr!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep it warm CK and peeps!
You know how sometimes you come over here through your tunnel to hang out with me on your blue pillow? Well, I'm wondering if you could send your Pop over sometime Thursday or Friday to hang out with me while the Human is off at work. I think he might be a fun guy. I mean, I know he's YOURS and all, and I know he won't LOVE me or anything, but he seems cool and maybe he'd give me some scritches.
ReplyDeletehaha!!! CK...that pfffft shot is PRICELESS!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was 3 below zero this morning. Actually warmed up to either 1 or 2. Woot!
But at least we're not encased in ice.
xo
Brrrr, looks cold out there!
ReplyDeleteWow CK that looks well cold. Have a tremendous Thursday and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We're glad you convinced your Dad to stay home. All the ice, while pretty and pawsome, sounds very dangerous too.
ReplyDeleteI sure agree with your closing statement CK!!!
ReplyDeleteHere is the opposite. Much heat. We are being cooked! Sends its snow here!

ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons mom moved to Colorado was to get away from ice storms. She'll never forget the year she spent hours and hours and hours getting the ice off her mom's car without scratching the car or damaging the tires. It was terrible. She swore she'd never do it again!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you convinced your dad to stay home yesterday. We had some ice here, but it didn't look as bad as your icy window!
ReplyDeleteMother Nature has been very scary this winter - we have gotten bitter cold but so far no snow! Yet!
ReplyDeleteCats of wildcat woods
Love your picture CK - guess you told Mother Nature what we all think of her this year. You can complain - we do enough of it and we live in the north where this kind of thing happens and is expected now and then. This is the worst year on about 20 years here tho.
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is in a bad mood these days ! Stay warm and safe ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteyeah you have ice and we have 2 ft of snow :)
ReplyDeleteYou can come visit me, CK. We've only got RAIN. Which is excellent napping weather, you know.
ReplyDeletePurrz!
Selina
C.K, that is one of the best raspberries we have ever seen from any cat anywhere. Ice is so pretty but so scary. Be careful and stay safe and warm. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteCK, that's pretty much how we feel...after getting another 8 inches of snow yesterday. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteBlech, we hates ice! Mom says it is furry dangerous for beans, woofies and kitties. You pop had the best idea to stay home with you!
ReplyDeleteStay warm and dry.
Sasha, Sami, & Saku
Could not agree more with your assessment of Ma Nature given that you in the East have more moisture and we in the West have way more LESS than we need just to flush the toilet!!
ReplyDeleteHi darling, We had the eensiest bit of rain today, but we could sure use a walloping big storm. Do you think you could send one out here?
ReplyDeleteI just say your comment: Pop likes me? Really? Cause I think he's just adorable. Well, if you ever change your mind about sharing him, let me know. What if *I* came over there? Would you let him cuddle me just a leetle bit?
ReplyDelete*saw*
ReplyDeleteIce storm, wind storm, snow storm...
ReplyDeleteWhat's with all the wicked weather?
chilly Noodle
You and me both, CK. Is it never going to warm up? We have had so much rain here, our little island is sinking!! :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending the storm. We are loving it!
ReplyDeleteThe hip is probably out of her price range, but maybe a pedicure.
Yikes, that is crazy weather you are having. Hope it gets better and milder very soon.
