Wednesday Word—Birds

Is that what I think it is in my condo??
Now that the ground—and everything else—is covered by white stuff, Bird-tv is apparently off the air. It’s not even on reruns. It’s just a snowy screen. I’m sick of looking at it and so are my peeps. I may have found a partial solution.

I’ve seen reviews of the Bird Catcher PRO EX teaser wand toys so I contacted their maker @PetsCanPlay on Twitter. They were more than happy to set me up and I was more than happy to finally get my Bird-tv again. This was better cos it was right in my own condo! My set includes the fiberglass wand kit with 2 feather attachments and canisters of Guinea Fowl Peacock and Twilight Crow feathers.

Let me tell you a little something about the Bird Catcher PRO EX in case you hadn’t heard of it. What makes it different from other wand toys is it has a fiberglass pole, with a comfortable foam grip handle, that can be retracted to fit into the storage bag for safe keeping. With the right wrist action, the Bird Catcher PRO EX flutters through the air like a real bird. Other reviews we’ve read say they don’t like the elastic string but we do. It seems to enhance the flutter action. This toy entices a cat to play and, thus, get  the exercise which is so important to our well being. The minute TW took the wand out of its case and extended it, I was hooked. It fact, I was crazier about it before she put the attachment on. (No comment from the cheap seats.) Just kidding. This toy gets two paws up.

Don’t get me started about how inept she was at putting the attachment on. It took her old, arthritic hands and pea-size brain about an hour to figure out how to attach the feathers. Some instructions would have been nice but beggars can’t be choosers. By the time she’d attached the feathers, I was gone. They did manage to get one video of me playing with it. Excuse the quality. The light was very dim when Pop shot it. You only have to watch the first 16 seconds cos Pop left the camera running. He thought I was coming back. TW suddenly realized that she had the wrong feathers attached since I love my peacock feathers. With the peacock feather, I have leaped several feet in the air to get it but there was no one around to document it so you’ll have to take my word for it. For reasons unbeknownst to Pop, I don’t like to let him see me play. Heh heh. Do you get all shy when your special peep is in the room?

I’ve never seen a wand toy that I haven’t liked to nom on the string and use it like dental floss. This one was no exception. The elastic made it easier to floss. You can watch another video on YouTube of me with the Bird Catcher PRO EX that TW just took.

Disclaimer: I was sent the Bird Catcher PRO EX and additional feather packs at no charge but no cash money exchanged hands. All words and views are my own. Ain’t no one putting words in CK’s mouth.
