It's summer in the Northeast U.S. This week the temperatures are expected to be in the mid 90s. You need to take extra care to see that your pets are drinking enough water but everyone reading this blog knows that Stunning Keisha doesn't drink water. I haven't for years. OK, TW has caught me drinking out of "Pete" fountain once or twice. She keeps trying new bowls and water additives to get me to imbibe. When she saw the TORUS™ water bowl from Heyrex at the NYC Pet Expo a few months ago, she wondered if this might be the magical water bowl I couldn't refuse.

TORUS is a watering system, portable storage bowl and supplement dispenser in one. Lemme give you the 411 about how it works. TORUS stores its water inside the reservoir walls ensuring an ample supply of water that's protected from the elements. Each time your pet takes a drink, replacement water automatically flows from the storage area into the drinking well through the little hole. A carbon filter reduces flavors and trace elements commonly found in municipal water supplies like mine.
Our condo is electricly challenged. There are never enough sockets to plug everything in so the TORUS which relies on gravity rather than power to run on is perfect for us. Since there's no battery or power supply, the bowl is totally silent. Another plus since I shy away from anything with a loud motor. It was so easy to fill and turn on that even TW could do it!
After you remove it from the packaging, you unwrap the filter and pop it in. Then you fill it with enough water to cover the filter. There are three settings: tap for filling, flow to release the water and lock to transport the bowl without spillage so you can take it with you wherever your pet goes.
They come in two sizes: 2L for multi-pet homes and larger pets and a 1L for smaller pets. The larger bowls come in three colors and the smaller bowls come in four color. Each bowl comes with one carbon filter, which will last a month. Replacement filters are available in packs of five. Besides the replacement filters, it's also advised that you buy sterilizing tablets to clean the hidden reservoir.
What is really cool is that now TORUS™ has added a range of veterinarian-formulated soluble animal health supplements for cats and dogs for use with their watering bowl system including electrolytes, immune support, joint health and probiotics.
Did The Cat like it? Seriously, what do you think?

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really good bowl for Thunder.
ReplyDeleteWe got one of their bowls. I love the water dispensing system! Only, I wish it could be opened so that I could see it got really cleaned.
ReplyDeleteGreat review CK. This would be pawsum. As everypawdy knows me luvs a streamin' waterfall, but RaenaBelle be terrified of our fountain. So mommy had to find a little bowl to put down fur her. So we's got our paws crossed here fur Raena's sake.

Great review, CK! I really like the look of this TORUS bowl. I think my furbabies would love something like this, especially given how much traffic their current water bowls see each day.
ReplyDeleteThanks to a certain mancat (ahem, Evan, ahem) I recently had to research and acquire a special kind of water bowl that has an attached reservoir for catching spilled (more like thrown) water. I would love to try the TORUS bowl out, to see if all of the furbabies, including Evan (paws crossed), could behave themselves and properly use it.
Shiner AND Callie like to drink a lot. I even see that babycat drinking quite a bit. I have a fountain for Callie and I like it, but I have limited counter space and outlets. I don't like putting them on the ground either because my kid thinks it's a barbie swimming pool. Sugar had one of these in her BlogPaws room and I thought it was really cool.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for this giveaway fingers and paws crossed!
ReplyDeleteThese bowls look super cool! I love that you can ride around in the car without spilling!
ReplyDeleteWe have one fountain and several glass bowls, but most prefer a cup I have on the bathroom sink for them. I like that this doesn't need a plug.
ReplyDeleteBowl and these look awesome
ReplyDeleteRufus is looking at the screen just fascinated.... or is he looking at CK?
ReplyDeleteThanks for having the give-away!
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, and Rufus the Red
That's a very cool bowl! Mudpie isn't very fussy about what she uses; she's a good drinker (which I'm thankful for since she has such a kibble obsession). In the winter she loves it when I add a little warm tea kettle water to her bowl too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! My fur babies usually drink from a bowl, but this bowl is so much nicer than what they have.
ReplyDeleteMy furbabies drink ice coold water from a ceramic bowl
ReplyDeleteMy pups drink from a large bowl
ReplyDeleteNifty bowl!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a super Fourth of July...
Noodle and crew
My cat Desiree drinks from a bowl and also from the tap (which she prefers).
ReplyDeleteWe got to try one of these bowls. It's pretty cool. When the mom went to BP, she set this bowl up for us instead of having our fountain running because she knew the dad-guy probably wouldn't be real good about filling our water dish or taking care of the fountain.
ReplyDeleteToo bad mes not in the US, mes could go for that dish!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Nellie
PS. Mes has a contest going on, goes to my blog to enter!!!
That bowl is really cool, CK! Thanks for the review, and for having this giveaway. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. - We were sorry to read on FB about your asthma attack. We sure hope you're doing better...
That bowl we could really use here. we use a bowl with filtered water.
ReplyDeleteMy darling girl! What a wonderful bowl. The Human always wonders how I would react to a fancy bowl?? Maybe now is the time to find out! XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteThe TORUS bowl is great! We'd love to have a small one if we win. Thanks for letting us know about the supplements and the sterilizing tablets - we didn't know they had come out with either one of those!
ReplyDeleteMilita drinks only from bowls while Carmine enjoys drinking from bowls and fountains.
I have nine dogs and several water bowls in different rooms. They line up to take turns drinking but they love to drink from the hose in the backyard.
ReplyDeletehaven't seen this one but then Mom L has been very lame about visiting with me. We sure would like to give this water bowl a try.
ReplyDeleteMy cats would love this bowl. They like water as I pour it in their bowl, and Izzy loves running water. I wish they would all drink more so I would love to try this.
ReplyDeleteI like it! I want it but alas we are Canucks and don't rate. However, we have an American address for the bowl to be sent if we win. Canada Post is threatening to strike anyway. Wish they would resolve their problems so I can do some stuff like buy goodies.
ReplyDeleteShoko
i have 2 bowls that they drink from. i have to change it several times a day b/c their beards get the water dirty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bowl. We like to have water in different locations and this would be purrfect.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
My 17 yr old kitty has one - she loves it! She won't use the drinkwell fountain so this is a great alternative for her.
ReplyDeleteAn old ice cream bucket
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're drinking it! We had a fountain which both Samantha and Luke loved, but it's hard to find a place to put it because it needs to be plugged in. Sam drinks a lot of water, and has two dishes, so it would be nice to have one that we don't have to refill quite as often!
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
We've always used a bowl with filtered water. We recently got a fountain that we really like. Mom loves the portability of this bowl so she'd love to win it for us.
ReplyDeleteThey usually drink from a bowl we keep on the kitchen floor. Thanks.
