Before I get to some St. Patrick Day jokes, I’d like to take you for a short stroll down memory lane with TW—or as we call her today Pattie O’Furniture.
Hunnerts of years ago, she was actually IN the St. Paddy’s Day Parade down 5th Avenue in NYC. I kid you not! When she worked on 6th and 49th Street, she used to go to lunch with her Irish coworker K, who sadly passed away last year. On St. Paddy’s Day, they’d have corned beef sandwiches and green beer at Barney Stone during lunchtime. Then, they added a new coworker friend to the mix. On this year, their new friend had to go to the bank first so they agreed to meet on 5th Avenue to watch the parade. They finally spotted S on the East side of 5th Avenue and they were on the West side. They’d have to cross in the middle of the parade to join her and cross they did. I’m sure they caused tons of mayhem to the real marchers but avoided being arrested. TW walked on the wild side in her younger days.
After reading that, you probably need something to drink. Have some of my special batch CK Irish Creme Whiskey. It’s a favorite of the Trout Towne Tabbies cos they have good taste and I’m sure you’ll like it too.
What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a four-leaf clover?
A rash of good luck.
Why can’t you borrow money from a leprechaun?
Because they’re always a little short.
Why do people wear shamrocks on St. Patrick’s Day?
Regular Rocks are too heavy.
Here’s one for TW and her friends:
What has either arms and an IQ of 60?
Four girlfriends drinking on St. Patricks’s Day.
What do leprechauns love to barbecue?
Short ribs.
Why did St. Patrick drive all the snakes out of Ireland?
He couldn’t afford plane fare.
May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.
And may trouble avoid you wherever you go.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
Happy St. Patty's Day, CK! And thanks for showing us a little of TW's wild side! ;)
