My Bite is Worse Than My Bark

Happy Monday! Do I look happy in this pic? I don’t? Good cos I’m not, even though I’m standing with a new bag of kibble. TW isn’t thrilled either. We are happy that we don’t have to stress over what to blog about today. This blog just dropped down from the heavens and wrote itself.

This doesn’t smell right.

A few weeks ago I won a prize at a #Blogpawschat. Chats are almost every Tuesday night from 8-10 Eastern time but you have to be a member to win a prize. TW waited to open the box till yesterday. I could see the images of rabbits on the label. This was gonna be so nommy! Then TW read the label. DOG FOOD is what it said.

Seriously, do I look like a DOG? Most every time I win something at a ‪#‎Blogpawschat‬, they send me DOG food. I was so excited to try the Wild Calling CAT food that I won a few weeks ago.  I had tweeted to the company and made a lot of noise at that #Blogpawschat. They favorited several tweets where I mentioned that I was glad they made CAT food. I thought I was heard. I told them I was drooling over their unusual flavors for cats. Rabbit, buffalo and pheasant are all new to me. They sounded delish. All the food is grain-free and made in the USA. Nothing comes from China. I could say more but this isn’t the review I promised them or a sponsored post.

Blogpaws is a fine organization that has done a lot for this little ghetto kitteh. I enjoy working on their campaigns. My only gripe would be that they seem to favor dogs over cats. Having said that: Is Blogpaws really THAT dog-centric that companies automatically think all the winners are DOGS? I’m gonna write and warn them my bite is worse than my bark.

Dunno if I need a disclaimer but I received the DOG food as a prize and wasn’t obligated to blog about it.

UPDATE: I received word from Blogpaws that I will be getting a bag of Wild Calling cat kibble. The bag of dog food will be donated to Linda to help feed the 11 dogs she fosters.

Would you like to comment?

  1. I hope the company does right by you, CK, and sends you some cat food! Meanwhile, I guess you can donate the bag of dog food to somebody somewhere.

  7. We're sure BlogPaws will straighten this out, because your bite is legendary! Once they do and you donate that bag to a dog in need, you and the dog will be winners.

  8. Oh yea, that's a DogPaws thing fur sure!

  9. I don't blame you at all for being perturbed, CK, but I have a feeling this blog post is going to get you some action!

  10. Oh no! I hope they send you the food for kitties!
Glad you noticed it was for woofies before you ate it :-)

  11. Well that would make us hissy the flavors sound delicious and Mommy would have just given it to OUR dogs. We hopes you gets the CAT food soon, and get to try all the exotic flavors. ~Socks & Scylla

  14. Sheesh. We hope the company sends you a case of food to make up for this, CK. BTW, we didn't know Wild Calling made cat food. One of the reasons we didn't pawticipate in the #blogpawschat was because we thought it was only about dogs and dog food.

  15. CK I think you ought to write to the company and tell them that you're NOT a dog and that they sent you the wrong food and hey how about trying again with some CAT FOOD!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have noticed that it seems about 75 % dog to 25% cat which is frustrating. I see that everywhere though in magazines, tv, etc. I hope they are going to send you the correct food. My kitties love rabbit, 2 are on an allergy food by Royal Canin from the vet, but the others get into it too.

  18. Love your title. How very frustrating for you. Have you mentioned it to the people from the Blogosphere that run the Blogpawschat? Possibly they should be telling the company if it is a dog or cat when they provide the name and address of the winner. Just a thought.

  19. That is terrible that they mistook you for a dog! It is very annoying when people don't take notice. Things like that get my mum madder than a hen trying to hatch a golf ball.

  20. Ha, even our Wilde boys would not be wild about dog food ;-) Blogpaws will be more cat-centric this year.

  26. Make a big stink!! And put the bitey on someone ... anyone!! What a bunch of .....! Their combined IQ probably doesn't reach my age!

  27. CK... I know I have read about this happening to you before too. WTC? I'm sure that they will fix the problem for you, because they are good peeps like that. The food does sound pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That stinks! The BlogPaws community does seem to have lots more dog members than cat members, but this is totally inexcusbale. Mommy says that she wouldn't like us eating bunnies as we have bunny friends, but the other two flavors sound good. Hope the company exchanges this for you. 29. Oh goodness - I would definitely contact the company (or just tag them in a Twitter link to your blog) and I bet they would set things right. I've had to chase after a few giveaway prizes recently - I think things can fall through the cracks. My cat Nina loves the Wild Calling canned food!

  30. I bet a shelter would love to receive this as your not going to use it :)
Maybe contact them and they can send you a kitty one :)
    Rolo says looks yummy though!

  31. That stinks CK! Sometimes BlogPaws does seem quite dog centric. They really need to get a cat person into there management. Perhaps if you called Wild Calling they would do a switcheroo for you. You never know.

  32. Aw, I'm sorry you got dog food, CK. I agree with Lara that if you contact WIld Calling via Twitter or FB, I'll bet they'd be happy to send something that you'd enjoy a little more than dog food! :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. OK, am I allowed to laugh? Because this totally made me chuckle. (I am allowed because I have 6 cats, who would just stare at me if I tried to give them dog kibble. ;)

SO sorry you got dog food, and it's not even in a can (bc you might have been able to at least taste it then). Hope they send you some of the good stuff that's got the taurine and all in it. Btw, my Bertie kitty has a pet stuffed pheasant he carries around in his mouth. Please do not tell him if you eat one of his baby's kin!
