Getting Destructive For My Art

♫ I love the sound of breaking glass especially when I’m hungry. I need the noises of destruction when there’s nothing new. Nothing to do. ♫ Today’s piece of art I’m contributing to Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop shows me punching my paw through a pane of glass. I’d like to think I’m breaking into a pet store and I’m gonna stuff my bag full of Fancy Feast. My boi’s Tuna and PKitty are right behind me. We gonna have a pawty with all the toys in the place and leave before the po-po show up. Anybuddy else want in??

"I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass" is one of TW’s favorite songs from the late 1970s. Nick Lowe was one of her faves. I’m sure he’d be honored a stunning cat such as myself is paraphrasing his ancient song. TW doesn’t, however, really love the sound of breaking glass cos she knows I can get a sliver of it into my paws and that would be a real expensive problem. Ka-ching. The sound of breaking glass usually means the end of her juice glass. Heh heh. Our “manual” dishwasher tends to break quite a few of those.

Back in da hood, the sound of breaking glass was usually followed by car alarms going off. I didn’t really like the sound the alarm made or the sirens of the po-po car. Those were some exciting days. These days I wish I could punch through the window when the flying rats on the roof next door are mocking me. Do you ever feel like breaking glass?

This photo also looks stunning in sepia, which is why I’m also participating in Sepia Saturday Blog Hop over at Ruckus the Eskie’s place

  22. Breaking glass meant the same thing in the neighborhood where I grew up, too, CK.

Your artwork is cool ... it kind of looks like the iPad screen of a lady I saw in Central Park last week!

  24. Oooh CK! We had a breaking glass incident on Saturday! Someone dropped a glass and it smashed to absolute smithereens. It frightened everyone and it took hours to find all the shards. Thankfully it wasn't me who was the perp and I wasn't anywhere near otherwise The Staff would have flipped her lid for sure!! Nice artwork :)
